Introduction:This unit seeks to give students a better understanding of how English developed and how it is spoken in the world. Students often hear talk about "Standard English". In fact, as this unit hopes to make clear, there is no such thing as one standard of spoken or written English.English is spoken in many countries throughout the world and many of them have different forms of expression.
