预备级课程起到呈上启下的作用,帮助学生从幼儿阶段过渡到小学阶段的学习。
预备级属于Super Minds 教材体系，全人教育在教材与授课中得以表达，不仅注重学生英语能力的提高还在拓宽学生的兴趣爱好的同时，重视思维能力，观察能力，口头表达能力的发展，有益于智力开发，为小学阶段的学习打好坚实的基础。
为什么要学习预备级课程？预备级课程有如下特点：1）相比幼儿阶段，预备级课程增加词汇认知，听力认知单词，扩大词汇量，协助学生实现从通过图画认知单词到看到字母识词的过程。
通过单词分类，以及场景巩固更好地帮助学生记忆单词，在原有词汇框架内加入新的认知词汇。
2）提高学生的造句能力，通过加强语境与语法学习运用所学单词造句。
预备级课程引入时态学习，让学生了解如何运用一般现在时，现在正在进行时与完成时进行表达。
在小组中运用所学句型进行自由对话，从而提升英语的口头表达能力，实现运用句型进行日常沟通与写作，为小学阶段的语段学习打下较好的基础。
