Step 1 Lead-in (6 mins)

Everyone wants to be healthy and attractive, and many persons think a slim figure means beautiful and attractive, especially for many girls. So many people want to lose weight. If you are not that slim, will you do something to make yourself slim? Then what will you do to have a slim figure?

Here are several choices. Which way will you choose to make yourself look slim？(advantages and disadvantages)

✧Going on a diet(it can make us lose weight, but we will feel weak and

tired for not eating or just eating a little, we have no energy to study or do something )

✧Exercising in the gym (it is a way to keep fit and lose weigh t, but we

don’t have so much time to do it, and we have to pay for it )

✧Receiving surgical treatment (it is a new way to make people become

more and more beautiful, and it is popular among stars, especially those in Korea. However many people do n’t support it for it is against natural laws. It is a waste of money. The most important harm: it’s dangerous and you might even die.)

✧Taking weight-loss pills (it can lose weight in a short time, but

weight-loss pills damage your health and also waste money.) Amy, our main character, is a pretty girl, but she wants to lose weight too. Which way did she choose? Let’s look at her story.

There’re three periods about Amy’s mood, what is her emotion in each period? And what are the reasons and results? Read the first two e-mails again and fill in the charts. (4mins)
