It was so much fun and I can't wait to tell you all about it!First of all, I was a little nervous because I had to perform a violin solo in front of the whole school. I've been taking violin lessons for two years now, but I had never played on a real stage before with so many people watching. My palms were getting all sweaty just thinking about it!But my music teacher, Mrs. Miller, gave me a nice pep talk before I went on. She said, "Emily, you have practiced and practiced. You know this piece inside and out. Just go out there, take a deep breath, and play like you do at home. You're going to do great!" Her words really helped calm my nerves. When it was my turn to perform, I stepped out onto the big stage carrying my violin. The lights were so bright and I could see rows and rows of people staring at me from the audience. I felt alittle shaky, but then I looked out and saw my mom and dad giving me the biggest smiles and double thumbs up. That gave me a boost of confidence.I lifted my violin, drew my bow across the strings, and began to play my solo piece which was "篇2My Super Awesome Music Festival Experience!Wow, did I have the best time ever at our school's music festival last week! It was totally awesome and amazing and I can't wait to tell you all about it. Get ready for the coolest story ever!It all started a few months ago when Mrs. Thompson, our really nice music teacher, announced in class that our school was going to have a giant music festival. She said any student could sign up to perform either by themselves or in a group. I loooove music and singing along to my favorite songs, so I definitely wanted to do it. But I was a little nervous to perform all alone on stage in front of everybody. What if I messed up the words or my voice cracked or something? That would be sooooo embarrassing!Luckily, my best friends Jessica and Emma said they wanted to do the music festival too. Yes! We decided to form a singinggroup together, which was way less scary than going solo. We called ourselves the "Sing-Delica Chicas" because we thought that sounded fun and silly. Over the next few weeks, we practiced a lot during recess and after school, trying to pick the perfect song to perform. After going through about a million different songs, we finally agreed on "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift. That song is such a bop and the words are pretty easy to remember. We shook it off, shook it off, ooh ooh! Jessica did Tay-Tay's verses, Emma did the "players gonna play" parts, and I got to do all the choruses. We even made up a fun little dance routine to go along with the singing! On the day of the music festival, I was a nervous wreck. Like, I could barely eat any dinner I was so anxious. What if we messed up? What if people laughed at us? Mrs. Thompson kept trying to calm me down, saying not to worry so much and just have fun. Easy for her to say - she didn't have to get up on stage! When our turn finally came, the three of us walked up to the microphones set up on the big stage in the auditorium. I could see my parents, grandparents, and little sister all sitting in the audience smiling at me. That made me feel a little bit better, but my stomach was still doing flip-flops.Then the music started playing and we were off! We didn't just sing "Shake It Off," we absolutely ROCKED it! Jessica, Emma and I danced all over the place, shaking our hair around and getting our groove on. I could see people in the crowd bobbing their heads along to the beat. When we hit those "oohhh ooohhhh ohhhhhs" in the chorus, we really projected our voices and just went for it 100%. No holding back!By the end of the song, we were all out of breath from singing and dancing so hard, but we had the biggest smiles ever. Everyone in the auditorium jumped up and cheered sooooooo loud! We did a little curtsy and waved to all our fans. I couldn't believe how well it went and how much fun we had up there on that stage. When we got offstage, Mrs. Thompson gave us all big hugs and said we totally killed it. She even had little gold star stickers for us, which she stuck on our cheeks. A bunch of our classmates and their families came up afterward to tell us how awesome our performance was. Jessica's mom said we should try out for the School of Rock next! My dad kept whooping and hollering about what stars we were. It made me feel so proud and confident. The rest of the performances at the music festival were really cool too. Some kids played instruments like piano, violin, anddrums. A few of the older kids even wrote and sang their own original songs, which was super impressive. The best part was that everyone was just there to share their love of music, not to compete or anything. We all cheered each other on and had a blast. After it was all over, Mrs. Thompson gave out a few awards for best performances in different categories. Can you believe the Sing-Delica Chicas won for best song/dance performance? We got to go up on stage again and they gave us each a trophy! I've never won anything like that before. I just kept hugging the trophy and jumping around, I was so happy and excited. That night at home, I put the trophy on my dresser and replayed our performance about a hundred times, watching it over and over on the video my dad took. I could not stop smiling, reliving those few minutes we were total rock stars on stage. The whole experience of preparing for the music festival, getting over my nerves to actually perform, and then just absolutely crushing it and having so much fun was simply incredible. It showed me that hard work and practice really does pay off. And even if you're nervous or scared at first, you should just go for it because the payoff is so worth it! I used to be prettyshy, but now I feel like I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.I already can't wait for next year's music festival. Maybe I'll even write my own song to perform? Or play an instrument? Who knows, maybe the Sing-Delica Chicas will make it all the way to Madison Square Garden one day! Anything is possible when you have confidence, passion, and you chase your dreams. This was just the first of many performances to come for me, I can feel it deep down in my heart. Watch out world, here I come!篇3The Big School Music FestivalLast month, our school had a really cool music festival! It was so much fun and I'm still really excited about it. I've been waiting to tell you all about it.A few weeks before the festival, all the music teachers went around to the different classrooms to tell us about it. They said every grade would get to perform some kind of music or dance. The little kids in kindergarten and 1st grade would sing simple songs. The 2nd and 3rd graders would play xylophones and drums. The 4th and 5th grade classes, including my class, would play recorders and put on a big recorder concert at the end. When I heard we'd get to play recorders for the whole school, I was really nervous at first! Playing just for my classmates is one thing, but the whole school? With parents and teachers watching too? That seemed super scary. But I really like playing the recorder, so I also got pretty excited. My teacher Mrs. Jones helped us get ready. We practiced our songs every day during music time. We learned "Hot Cross Buns" and some other simple tunes. But we also practiced some holiday songs and even a couple movie songs! My favorite was the main sound track from Star Wars. I loved making those loud, intense, epic noises with my recorder. I felt like I was in a huge space battle! The day of the festival finally came. My mom came and so did my dad and little brother. I was really happy they were there to watch me. The whole big auditorium was packed with people - students, parents, teachers, and even some younger kids from the neighborhood. I saw my best friend Jayden's parents and my aunt and uncle too. I couldn't wait for it to start!First up were the kindergarten and 1st grade classes. They are so little and cute! They sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Row Row Row Your Boat" while swaying back and forth. Some of them even danced a little. I remember when I was that littlesinging those baby songs. It made me feel pretty grown up to watch them. After that, the 2nd and 3rd graders did their xylophone and drum performance. I didn't realize how many xylophone and drum songs there were! They played a lot of them - some I recognized like "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and others I'd never heard before. A few kids even did some advanced rhythms while the whole group handled the main melody. It was really impressive for their age. Then it was our turn - the 4th and 5th grade recorder ensemble! We walked up on the big stage, all holding our recorders. I felt just like a real musician. When the audience saw us, they cheered really loud which made me grin from ear to ear.Mrs. Jones counted us off and we launched into our first song - "Hot Cross Buns." It felt so powerful playing thatwell-known melody with like 50 other recorders. The sound just filled the whole auditorium. We nailed it!Next up was "Jingle Bells" since it was close to Christmas when we had the festival. I loved how festive it sounded with all the high and low recorder parts working together. A few kids added some improvisational flourishes here and there which made it even more fun.We kept going through our whole setlist. "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" was a romp, and the "Star Wars" melody gave me chills just like when we practiced it. The crowd cheered after every song. I could see my parents beaming with pride in the audience. Finally, we finished with an encore of "Yankee Doodle" where we all marched around the stage playing. I couldn't stop smiling. I felt just like a true musician up on that stage with my friends, performing our hearts out for all those people. When we took our bows at the end, the applause just went on and on. Some people even gave us a standing ovation! As I looked out at the crowd, I saw my dad whistling and my mom wiping a tear from her eye. They both looked so proud and happy. My little brother was grinning from ear to ear just like me.As we walked off stage, older kids from the middle and high school came up to high-five us and say we did an awesome job. I felt like a celebrity! teachers stopped me in the hall to say what a marvelous performance it was. My face was probably as red as a beet but I didn't care - I was riding so high. That music festival is an experience I'll never forget. For one magical night, I wasn't just a 4th grader - I was a valued musician helping create something special. The shining smiles on myparents' faces and the thunderous applause from the crowd made all the hard work of practicing worth it. Performing with my friends like that made me feel so confident, talented and happy.I can't wait for next year's festival! I'm already working on mastering some new songs. Look out world, here comes the recorder master! Maybe I'll even take up a new instrument too. The music festival made me realize I was born to perform. That's my story about the big school music festival. It was one of the best, most exciting, most rewarding experiences I've ever had. I'll carry the memories of that night with me forever. I hope you get to experience the joy of live musical performance too someday. It's a feeling like no other! Trust me, when that audience is cheering for you, you feel like a superstar.篇4My Awesome Time at the School Music Festival!Wow, I had such an awesome time at our school's music festival last week! It was the best day ever. I'm going to tell you all about it.It started off on a Thursday morning. My teacher, Mrs. Jones, told us that the next day was going to be the big music festival. She said we had been practicing our singing and instrument playing for weeks, and it was finally time to perform on stage in front of the whole school! I was super excited but also a little bit nervous. That night, I could barely sleep because I was thinking about the festival so much. I tossed and turned, imagining myself on stage with my violin, the bright lights shining down on me. What if I messed up? What if I forgot how to play? I tried not to worry too much because I had practiced really hard. The next morning, I woke up bright and early, put on my favorite outfit, and headed to school. The hallways were all decorated with musical notes and instruments. It looked so cool! When I got to my classroom, lots of other kids were already there carrying their instruments too. Some had guitars, others had drums, and a few were just going to sing with no instruments. Mrs. Jones had us start warming up our voices and tuning our instruments. Finally, it was time to go over to the auditorium where the festival was happening. It was a huge room with a massive stage and tons of seats all facing it. My heart was beating really fast as we walked in and took our seats in the audience. The fifth graders were up first to perform. They played some pop songs on their guitars and keyboards.A few of them sang while the others played their instruments. I thought they sounded pretty good! After they were done, it was our class's turn to go up on stage. I gulped as we lined up, walking towards those bright lights. But then I reminded myself that I had practiced a ton and I knew what I was doing. We opened by singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" all together. Our parents and teachers in the audience were clapping along, which gave me more confidence. Next, a small group got to show off the poem they had written with musical accompaniment on the xylophones. It was really pretty! Then it was my turn. A few of us violinists walked up to the front of the stage. I could see my mom and dad out there in the crowd, giving me the thumbs up and smiling big. That made me feel better. The pianist started playing, and we joined in on our violins. I was so focused on my fingering and bowing that I kind of blocked everything else out. Before I knew it, our song was over! We didn't make any mistakes at all. Phew! The rest of our class took turns showcasing their talents too. Jayden crushed it on the drums during a rock song. Sarah sang a beautiful solo. Everything sounded just perfect to me. When wefinished, the whole auditorium erupted in cheers and applause. We all beamed with pride. After we left the stage, the third and fourth graders got to perform too. I loved watching the younger kids sing with so much enthusiasm. My favorite part was when the entire third grade class did an amazing rap about the 50 states. So clever!Once every class had their time on stage, the whole school joined together to sing the school song one last time to close out the festival. It was hard not to get teary-eyed seeing that whole room filled with smiling students and teachers, united in song. Music really does bring people together! On the way out, my parents told me how wonderfully I had played my violin. They looked so proud of me. I felt proud of myself too. All that practice had paid off! Mrs. Jones also complimented me and the whole class, saying she had never heard us sound better. In the days after the festival, I just kept replaying it all in my mind. That bright stage, the cheers from the audience, the sound of all our voices and instruments joining as one. It's a memory I'll never forget. I can't wait for next year's music festival! Maybe I'll learn to play a new instrument and solo. The possibilities areendless with music. This was just the first of many amazing performances to come!篇5My Super Awesome Music Festival Experience!Hi friends! I'm so excited to tell you all about the totally cool music festival that my school had last week. It was the best day ever and I had a blast! It all started a few months ago when my music teacher, Mr. Jones, announced that our school was going to have a huge music festival. He said every student could sign up to perform either by themselves or in a group. I knew right away that I wanted to do something! At first, I wasn't sure what to pick. Should I sing? Should I play an instrument? Dance? Magic tricks? Well, maybe not magic tricks since that's not really music. But you get what I mean - there were so many possibilities! After thinking it over for a little while, I decided that playing the drums would be the most fun for me. I've been taking drum lessons for almost two years now and I'm getting pretty good if I do say so myself! My drum teacher, Mr. Roberts, helped me pick out a couple of my favorite songs to perform. For the next few weeks, I practiced those two drum solos over and over again until my parents and little brother were probably going crazy from hearing the same songs so many times every day. But I didn't mind. The more I practiced, the better I got and the more excited I became for the festival! Finally, the day of the music festival arrived! My mom helped me get ready super early that morning. I put on my lucky drum shirt and brought my special purple drum sticks with me. I was definitely prepared to rock out! When I got to school, there were already lots of kids and parents there. The auditorium where we were having the festival was all set up with big stages, awesome lights, and a massive sound system. It looked just like a real concert venue! The festival started at 9 AM and there were performances all day long until 6 PM. There were so many different acts - kids singing, playing guitars, pianos, violins, saxophones, and all sorts of other instruments. Some groups even did dance routines while singing! Everything was amazing.Of course, I thought the absolute best performances were the ones with drums. There was this one kid, James, who played some crazy difficult drum solo that was incredible. I could hardlyeven believe it! I knew right then that I wanted to be able to play that awesomely when I'm older. Then it was finally my turn to perform in the late afternoon. I have to admit, when I walked up on that huge stage, I was a little bit nervous. The auditorium was packed full of people and it was kind of intimidating! But as soon as I sat down behind the drums and looked out at the crowd, I felt better. My parents and brother were right there in the front row smiling at me and giving me the thumbs up sign. I could also see Mr. Roberts, my drum teacher, sitting a few rows back. He gave me an encouraging wink.Taking a deep breath, I nodded to the tech crew and they started playing the music for my first song. Before I knew it, I was jamming away, letting those drumsticks fly across the different cymbals and drums. I've never felt so cool in my entire life! When I finally played that last booming beat of the song, the whole auditorium erupted with cheers, hoots, and applause. I couldn't stop smiling! My face probably looked like this: I had absolutely killed my first song.Feeling confident, I launched into my second drum solo and it went equally as well as the first one. The same huge cheers and applause followed when I played that final rhythm. What a rush!As I walked off the stage after my performance, Mr. Jones and Mr. Roberts both gave me high fives and congratulated me.A bunch of kids came up to me saying that was the best drumming they'd ever heard. I just smiling and blushed, feeling prouder than I ever had before. The rest of the day went by in sort of a happy blur. More awesome performances kept happening one after another. Us performers all cheered each other on loudly. Finally, it was time for the closing ceremony at the very end of the night. All of the teachers and parent volunteers came up on stage to thank everyone for putting on such an amazing show. Then Mr. Jones announced the prize winners for best performances in different categories like Best Vocalist, Best Instrumentalist, Best Group Act, and more. When they announced the winner for Best Drummer...I'll give you one guess who they called! Yep, it was me! I couldn't even believe it at first. Little old me, the Best Drummer? Of the whole festival? No way!But it was true. I ran up on that stage, received my first place medal, gave Mr. Jones a big hug, and showed off my sweet prize to the audience with the biggest grin on my face. That night when I got home, I hung up my medal on my bedroom wall and just stared at it for a long time, still hardly believing what had happened.I know this is going to sound super cheesy, but that music festival was honestly one of the greatest experiences of my life so far. The performer high, the awesome vibe in the auditorium, the cheering crowds, and winning Best Drummer...it made me feel like a total rockstar!More than that though, it made me realize how much I love drumming and performing music in front of others. While it was a bit scary at first, by the end I never wanted to leave that stage. I can't wait for hopefully many more opportunities like that to pursue my passion for percussion.I already can't wait for next year's music festival. Who knows, maybe I'll learn some other instruments too and put together a little band? Or maybe I'll just focus on drums again and play an even crazier, more technical solo. No matter what, you can bet I'll be spending this whole next year practicing like crazy to put on another prize-winning, show-stopping performance!Drummers of the world, watch out - because this kid is ready to rock!。

I can't wait to sleep in late, hang out with my friends, and just chill without having to worry about homework and tests. Mom and Dad have some fun stuff planned for us this year too which is awesome.First up, we're going camping at Red Rock Lake for a week. I'm kinda nervous since I've never really been camping before besides pitching a tent in the backyard. What if there are bears? Or worse...snakes?shudderMom says there's nothing to worry about but she doesn't understand my very legitimate fears. We'll be "roughing it" without TVs, video games, and best of all...no little brother to annoy me! He's going to stay with Grandma and Grandpa for that week. After camping, we're headed out west to see some National Parks. Mom's boss gave her a bunch of tips on which ones to hit - Yellowstone, Arches, and the Grand Canyon. We'll brave the Great American Road Trip driving for hours and hours in our trusty minivan. At least I can pack my Nintendo Switch to keep me occupied. Dad gets grumpy if we ask "Are we there yet?" too many times.I'm most excited for the Grand Canyon part of the trip. We're going to take a guided mule ride along the ridge! How cool is that? I bet the views will be incredible. I just hope my mule doesn't get any ideas about kicking me off near the edge. Maybe I'll name him Kicky just to be safe. After the National Park adventures, we'll swing by Vegas before heading home. What happens in Vegas...well, you know. Just kidding! We're not going to any raunchy shows or pulling any all-nighters at the casinos. Mainly we're going to walk around and gawk at the over-the-top hotels and entertainments. My only request is to get a picture in front of that famous "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign.Fingerscrossedformom&dadtoagree! Finally, we'll head back home for the last few weeks of summer. That gives me just enough time to hang out with mysquad before school starts up again. We'll probably spend most days at the pool, surfing the web, and playing video games. I could get used to this permanent vacation lifestyle! But of course, all good things must come to an end. Before you know it, I'll be back to getting up at dawn, rushed mornings, and countless hours of teachers droning on about stuff I'll never use in real life. That's when the countdown to NEXT summer begins! Maybe Mom and Dad will let me get a job next year so I can start saving up for something epic...like a trip to Hawaii or Costa Rica. A guy can dream, right?Anyways, that's my summer in a nutshell - camping, National Parks, Vegas, and a whole lot of friend-and-chill time. If you can't find me over the next few months, I'll be unplugged and off enjoying my break from the daily grind. Don't worry, I'll save you a few pics and stories to share once I'm back!篇2My Thoughts on Unit 4 in Our English TextbookHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm an 8th grader. Our English class just finished Unit 4 in our textbook and I have quite a few thoughts about it that I want to share. Unit 4 was all aboutdescribing people's personalities, appearances, and habits. It was a pretty interesting and useful unit in my opinion! One of the first things we learned were different adjectives to describe someone's personality, like outgoing, shy, generous, rude, and so on. I remember our teacher having us go around the room saying one positive adjective to describe each person. It was a little embarrassing at first, but then it became kind of fun thinking of different ways to compliment my classmates. We also had to write a paragraph describing a friend or family member's personality using at least 5 new adjectives from the unit. Some kids wrote about their best friends and used adjectives like loyal, funny, and caring. Others described parents or siblings calling them hard-working, patient, or even stubborn! I decided to write about my older sister Sophie. I said she was smart, creative, determined, and a tiny bit disorganized with her constant mess of art supplies and half-finished projects everywhere. She read my paragraph and agreed it was pretty accurate! Describing personalities was interesting because you really had to think about what words best captured someone's true essence.Next up was learning vocabulary to describe people's physical appearances. We went over words for hair, eyes, height, weight, style of dress, and more. Our homework was to describe a celebrity's looks in as much detail as possible using the new terms. I chose to write about the actor Daniel Radcliffe since he's the star of my favorite Harry Potter movies. I described hisblue-green eyes, short messy brown hair, average height and thin build. We also had to compliment their looks by saying things like "She has a warm, friendly smile" or "His sense of style is very cool and relaxed." Using all those descriptive words made me look at appearances in a whole new way!The final part of the unit focused on common habits and routines. We practiced phrases like "He has a habit of biting his nails" or "She always leaves her clothes all over the floor." I thought it was funny learning about weird habits people have. Apparently, some people compulsively clear their throats, crack their knuckles, or tap their fingers constantly without realizing it. Our assignment was to observe the habits of someone we're around a lot and write a description of their daily routines along with any quirky little habits they have.I decided to observe and write about my dad since I'm around him so much. His routine was pretty standard - wake up early, exercise, go to work, come home and make dinner, watch TV, then go to bed. But then I started noticing his little habits likehow he jiggles his leg whenever he sits down, sips his coffee with his pinky sticking out, and manually locks the front door three times before leaving the house. I think he has a bit of OCD or something! When I included all those little details in my paper, it made his ordinary routine sound quite amusing and unique.Overall, Unit 4 helped me become a lot more observant of people's personalities, looks, and quirks. Before this unit, I rarely took notice or put much thought into how I would describe someone. Now I have a whole new vocabulary to draw from using vivid adjectives and details. Describing others in-depth like that makes me look at them in a different light. It's crazy how many layers there are to people beyond just their basic traits! Even my closest friends and family members have so many nuances to their appearances, behaviors, and personalities that I never fully appreciated until I had to critically analyze and write about them. This unit has definitely helped me see people in a more complex, thoughtful way rather than making surface level judgments or generalizations. I think it will help me be better at giving compliments, writing character descriptions in stories, and just understanding others better overall. I may even start a habit of describing one new person I see each day in as much detail aspossible just to keep exercising those skills! Who knows, maybe I'll discover some strange habits of my own in the process too. All in all, Unit 4 was pretty useful and eye-opening when it comes to observing and describing the people around us. I'm curious what other insightful lessons about human nature are still to come in our English class this year!篇3Hi there! My name is Sam, and I'm a 10-year-old kid who loves going to school and learning new things every day. Today, I want to share with you my thoughts and experiences about the 4th unit we're studying in our English class. Get ready for an exciting adventure! The unit is all about "Exploring the World Around Us," and let me tell you, it's been a blast! We've been learning so much about different cultures, countries, and the amazing diversity that exists on our planet. It's like taking a virtual trip around the globe without ever leaving our classroom! One of the coolest things we've learned about is the different languages people speak in different parts of the world. Did you know that there are over 7,000 languages spoken on Earth? That's mind-blowing! We've been practicing some basicphrases in languages like Spanish, French, and Mandarin. It's been a little tricky to wrap my tongue around some of the pronunciations, but it's also been a lot of fun. We've also been exploring different cuisines and traditional dishes from various countries. I never knew there were so many different ways to prepare and eat food! From sushi rolls in Japan to spicy curries in India, and from juicy burgers in the United States to delicious pasta dishes in Italy, the world is a true smorgasbord of flavors. My taste buds have been on a rollercoaster ride, and I can't wait to try more! But it's not just about food and languages; we've also been learning about different customs, celebrations, and ways of life. It's fascinating to see how people around the world have their own unique traditions and beliefs. For example, we learned about the vibrant festival of Holi in India, where people throw colorful powder and water at each other to celebrate the arrival of spring. How cool is that? One of my favorite parts of this unit has been the virtual field trips we've taken. Thanks to technology, we've been able to explore famous landmarks and natural wonders without leaving our classroom. We've virtually visited the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Taj Mahal, the Amazon rainforest, and even the Great BarrierReef! It's almost like being there in person, but without the jet lag or expensive plane tickets.Speaking of travel, we've also been learning about different modes of transportation used around the world. Fromhigh-speed bullet trains in Japan to traditional longboats in Southeast Asia, and from camels in the deserts of the Middle East to dogsleds in the Arctic regions, there are so many fascinating ways to get from one place to another. And let's not forget about the amazing animals and plants we've discovered! Did you know that there's a plant called the "corpse flower" that smells like a dead body when it blooms? Gross, but also kind of cool! We've also learned about unique animals like the pangolin, the axolotl, and the narwhal. Who knew the natural world could be so weird and wonderful? But it's not all fun and games; we've also been learning about some serious issues facing our planet, like pollution, deforestation, and climate change. It's been eye-opening to understand how our actions can impact the environment and the delicate balance of ecosystems around the world. We've been brainstorming ways we can be more eco-friendly and reduce our carbon footprint, like recycling, conserving water, and using reusable bags instead of plastic ones.Overall, this unit has been an incredible journey of discovery and learning. I've gained so much appreciation for the rich tapestry of cultures, traditions, and natural wonders that exist on our amazing planet. It's made me want to explore even more and learn as much as I can about the world around us.Who knows, maybe one day I'll become an adventurer, a explorer, or even an anthropologist, studying different societies and cultures around the globe. The possibilities are endless, and I can't wait to see where this newfound curiosity and thirst for knowledge will take me!For now, though, I'll just keep soaking up all the fascinating information and experiences this unit has to offer. There's still so much more to learn and discover, and I'm ready for the adventure!篇4My Life in Middle SchoolHey there! My name is Alex and I'm in 8th grade. You want to know what life is like for me right now? Well, let me tell you all about it!First off, school has definitely gotten a lot harder compared to when I was in elementary school. The coursework is way more intense and the teachers expect a lot more from us. I have to study for hours every night just to keep up! My favorite subject is probably English class because I really enjoy reading novels and analyzing the deeper meanings behind them. We just finished reading To Kill a Mockingbird which was awesome. I wrote a killer essay analyzing the themes of racism and injustice in the book. My English teacher gave me an A!Then there's science class which I actually don't mind too much. We've been learning about biology this year which is pretty interesting stuff. Just the other day we did a fun experiment dissecting frogs! It was kind of gross but also really cool to see all the organs up close. Our science teacher is pretty chill too which makes the class a lot more enjoyable.I'm also taking Spanish as my foreign language elective this year. Ya hablo un poquito de español! Just kidding, my Spanish skills are pretty básico at this point. But I'm working on it! I think it's a really useful language to learn, especially living here in California. Maybe I'll get to go on one of those Spanish immersion trips to Mexico or something when I get to high school. One thing I am involved with though is the basketball team. I've always loved playing basketball ever since I was a little kid. It's a great way for me to stay in shape and just have fun being active, you know? We had a pretty good season this year too. Made it all the way to the playoffs before we got knocked out. Oh well, there's always next year! When I'm not playing basketball or drowning in homework, I also try to make time for my other hobbies and interests. For instance, I'm really into coding and building computer programs and apps and stuff. I'm hoping to take some more advanced computer science classes in high school because that's definitely something I'd be interested in potentially pursuing as a career later on. Technology is just so fascinating to me.Another big part of my life is my part-time job. I work a few hours a week after school at the local grocery store bagging groceries and doing other odd jobs. It's not a glamorous gig or anything, but it allows me to earn a little spending money for myself. Plus, I think it's good experience to have an actual job while still in school to help prepare me for the real world later on.Speaking of preparing for the future, there's also the whole question of what I want to do after high school. The honest truth is, I'm really not sure yet! Part of me dreams about going to aprestigious university like Stanford or UCLA. But the other part of me worries about things like cost and how I'll afford it all. My parents have always emphasized the importance of education, but money is pretty tight for us. I may need to go the community college route for a couple years to save up funds before transferring somewhere. We'll see what happens, I guess. At the end of the day though, I'm just trying to live my life as best as I can right now. Being a teenager istough, no doubt about it. You're caught in this weird limbo between being a kid and becoming an adult. So篇5My School LifeHey there! I'm an 8th grader at Westfield Middle School and I'm here to share a bit about my daily life as a student. Being in 8th grade is awesome - we're the oldest kids in the school which automatically makes us the coolest! Though I have to admit, the work is really piling up this year as we prepare for high school. My day usually starts around 6:30am when my mom hollers up the stairs that it's time to get ready for school. I hit snooze a couple times before finally rolling out of bed. After gettingdressed, I head downstairs for a quick breakfast - usually a bowl of cereal or a Pop-Tart if I'm running late. My mom is always nagging me about eating something more substantial, but I can never seem to stomach a big meal first thing in the morning. The bus picks me up at 7:30am, so I have to book it out the door by 7:25 at the latest if I want to get a good seat. The neighborhood kids and I have developed a very strict seating hierarchy on the bus - the cool kids get the backseat while the dorks are stuck up front near the teacher's pet. I normally sit somewhere in the middle with my friends Jake and Emma. We spend the 20 minute bus ride gossiping about who got detention, whose parents are getting divorced, and analyzing every nuance of the latest TikTok drama. We arrive at school around 7:50am, giving us 10 minutes to stop at our lockers and get to homeroom by 8am. Homeroom is pretty uneventful - we just go over announcements and listen to the morning ritual of the Pledge of Allegiance and school song. Though I have to admit, I get a kick out of seeing which teachers are struggling the most with early morning duty that day.First period is English, which is honestly my least favorite subject. I just can't seem to get into the novels and poems we're forced to read. I find the whole thing mind-numbingly dull. I'mdefinitely more of a math and science guy. I do ok in English just because my mom is always hounding me about keeping my grades up. She'll lose her mind if I bring home anything less than a B.After English is my favorite class - Algebra! I know, I know, most people think math is torture. But I actually really enjoy working through the equations and problem sets. There's just something satisfying about finally arriving at the right answer after plugging away at it. My algebra teacher, Mr. Kozlowski, is also a big teddy bear who makes even the toughest lessons somewhat entertaining. Then it's off to History before break. I have to admit, I actually find History really interesting when we're learning about major events like the Revolutionary War or World War II. But my teacher, Mrs. Griffin, has this annoying habit of getting super longwinded about tiny, insignificant details that nobody cares about. By the end of class, everyone's zoning out hardcore. Thank goodness for break time!Break is probably my favorite part of the day. For 25 glorious minutes, my friends and I get to escape to the courtyard and goof off away from teachers and lessons. We'll usually buy some snacks from the vending machine or hit up the school store for abanana Laffy Taffy or Sour Punch Straw. Then we plop down at one of the picnic tables and chat about anything and everything - sports, video games, TikTok dances, celebrity gossip. It's our daily oasis of laughter and relaxation in an otherwise hectic day. After break, we have Science which is going ok for me so far this year. I'm actually really fascinated by the class content - learning about Newton's Laws of Motion, the planets, photosynthesis, and all that fun stuff. But mannnn, our teacher Mrs. Johnson seriously piles on the homework. Every night we have somewhere between 10-20 questions to answer about whatever concept we learned that day. The worksheets aren't terribly hard, but they're just so darn tedious! The rest of the day is a bit of a blur - Spanish, P.E., and an elective which rotates every quarter. This quarter I'm taking Art, which has been a nice break from my core academics. I've never considered myself a particularly artistic person, but there's something calming about spending an hour each day painting, drawing, or working with clay. Honestly, it's probably one of the main reasons I've managed to stay sane with my heavy workload! Finally, the bell rings at 3pm and it's a mad dash to get to my locker, grab my backpack, and book it to the bus loop篇6My School DaysSchool has been such a big part of my life for so many years now. It's crazy to think I'm already in 8th grade! It feels like just yesterday I was a tiny little kid starting kindergarten. Those were the days - nap time, snack time, recess, and not a care in the world besides which toy to play with next.Elementary school was a blast. I loved seeing my friends every day and trying my best in all my classes like math, reading, science, and social studies. My favorite times were probably gym class and art though. Gym was awesome because we got to run around and play games. And art was fun because I could get creative and make all sorts of silly drawings and paintings.I remember one time in 2nd grade during art, I decided to finger paint an entire beach scene onto the desktop instead of on paper. I thought it looked pretty good, but Mrs. Wilson didn't agree! She made me stay inside for recess to clean it all up. Totally worth it in my opinion.Another great memory was in 3rd grade when our class went on a field trip to the science museum. We got to see so many cool exhibits, like the dinosaur fossils and the planetarium show. The best part was the experimental lab where we did fun hands-on activities. I'll never forget making a mini erupting volcano out of baking soda and vinegar. What an awesome mess that was!I also had to get used to taking standardized tests starting in 3rd grade. Those terrified me at first! Having to sit quietly and concentrate on bubbling in answers for hours felt like torture. But I worked hard to prepare and do my best. All those number 2 pencils got good use.As much as I have fond memories of elementary school, I have to admit I was really ready to move on to middle school by the end. Being one of the oldest kids and getting new responsibilities like patrol duty and the spring musical made me feel so mature. Plus, changing classes and having lockers gave me a taste of what being a "true" middle schooler would be like.Well, that first year of middle school was a doozy! The hardest part was definitely getting used to having six or seven different teachers and subjects each day instead of just one classroom. Keeping up with all those different syllabi, assignments, and classroom routines made my head spin. Not to mention having to be in the right room at the right time with the right materials was a constant struggle that first month.Making new friends was another challenge. My elementary school wasn't a feeder into this middle school, so I didn't know anyone at first. It was intimidating being the new kid in a huge school with over a thousand students! But joining band and the math club helped me start finding my people.Let me tell you, middle school academics are no joke! I thought I was prepared after the increasing workloads of 4th and 5th grade, but 6th grade hit me like a ton of bricks. Concepts like pre-algebra, earth science, and studying ancient civilizations were so new and complex. I spent many nights at the kitchen table with my mom going over math problems until I was cross-eyed.Writing in 6th grade was also an uphill battle. Having to formulate arguments and provide evidence from sources was something I'd never done before. I'm pretty sure my first few essays made no sense whatsoever. Shout out to my English teacher Mr. Thomas for always pointing me in the right direction with his feedback!Despite the struggles, I started getting the hang of things eventually. By 7th grade, I felt like an。

It looked intimidating, filled with pages upon pages of new vocabulary, grammar rules, and reading passages. Little did I know at the time, this book would become my trusty companion on an incredible journey of learning and discovery over the course of the school year. The very first unit, "Hello, New School Year," eased me back into the world of English after the summer break. The dialogs about students' summer vacations and their excitement for the new school year reminded me of my own experiences. I loved learning fun expressions like "have a whale of a time" and practicing them with my classmates. As we dove deeper into the book, things got challenging yet exciting. Unit 2, "My Hobbies," introduced me to a wide range of new hobbies and the vocabulary to describe them. From stampcollecting to dancing, I marveled at the diverse ways people spend their leisure time around the world. The reading passage about a student's hobby of raising pigeons particularly captivated me with its vibrant details.Grammar sections were always a hurdle, but the clear explanations and simple examples in the textbook made even the trickiest concepts like past participles feel manageable. I remember my teacher's creative methods too, like using gestures to help us understand the different tenses. The "Word Building" sections quickly became my favorite, unlocking the secrets of root words, prefixes, and suffixes. Suddenly, seemingly complex words like "bilingual" and "multimedia" made perfect sense when I broke them down into their meaningful parts. It was like being given a magical key to expand my vocabulary exponentially.Of course, no English textbook would be complete without delving into the wonderful world of idioms and proverbs. Unit 8, "A Stitch in Time Saves Nine," introduced me to these fascinating figurative expressions that gave me a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the English language. Phrases like "kill two birds with one stone" and "the early bird catches the worm"became part of my everyday speech, much to the amusement of my family. The reading comprehension passages were undoubtedly the most challenging aspect of the textbook, but also the most rewarding. From stories about famous inventors to articles on environmental protection, each passage opened up new worlds of knowledge for篇2My Journey with the 4th Grade English TextbookEnglish class was always a mixed bag for me. On one hand, I found the stories and dialogues interesting and loved learning new words. But on the other hand, remembering all the grammar rules and vocabulary was really hard! When we started the 4th grade English textbook this year, I was both excited and a little nervous. The book seemed pretty thick compared to the ones from previous years. But as soon as I opened it, the colorful pictures and fun comic strips caught my eye. The unit themes looked engaging too - things like "My Hobbies", "A Balance Diet" and "Popular Festivals". I could already imagine some of the conversations we might practice.Unit 1 was called "Making Friends" and it started by introducing some new students at Greenwood Elementary School. There were dialogues where they talked about their hobbies, likes and dislikes. The grammar focused on using "like" with different verb forms. I remember struggling a bit with that concept initially. What really helped were the roleplaying activities where we pretended to be the new kids introducing ourselves. My friend Jacob and I would take turns and it was fun putting on different accents! The reading passages about clubs and activities were interesting too. They taught me that making friends is about finding common interests. In Unit 2, we learned about balance diets and healthy habits. The "Food Circle" diagram showing different food groups was a little confusing at first. But our teacher did an amazing job explaining it with examples. My favorite was the poem "Spaghetti-O" which described a kid's perspective on veggies in a funny way. Yuck spaghetti squash, my enemy! I can still recite parts of it.The unit on festivals was probably my favorite though. We learned about celebrations across different cultures like Chinese New Year, Eid al-Fitr, Diwali and more. The vibrant pictures andvideos our teacher showed made me feel like I was experiencing those festivals myself. I'll never forget the story of "The Drums of Navaratri" which talked about an Indian girl's excitement during the 9-day celebration. Writing descriptions of my own favorite festival allowed me to blend creativity with the new vocabulary. As the year went on, I felt myself improving gradually. Units on topics like shopping, transportation and environmental protection kept things fresh and engaging. The exercises testing different skills like listening, speaking, reading and writing helped reinforce what I was learning. I struggled initially with writing longer paragraphs and answering open-ended questions. But consistent practice made me better over time. What I liked best was how the textbook integrated games, songs, chants and group activities. Language learning felt more like fun than work! The units would always end withself-assessment sections that helped me track my own progress. Sticker rewards from my teacher were an added motivation. There were certainly units that were more challenging than others. The grammar concepts like past tenseverbs or comparative adjectives took time to sink in. But breaking them down through examples, fill-in-the-blanks and focused practicemade them click eventually. Having learned the foundations well also made transitioning to 5th grade material easier.Looking back, the 4th grade English textbook was like an old friend who guided me through an important stage of my language learning journey. The variety of topics and activities kept me engaged, while progressively building my skills. Mastering each unit gave me a sense of accomplishment that spurred me on.Some moments did test my patience when I couldn't grasp a concept quickly or felt overwhelmed by new vocabulary. But those low points were inevitably followed by breakthroughs thanks to my teachers' support and my own perseverance. Each small win made me realize how far I had truly come.More than anything, this textbook taught me that language learning is a marathon, not a sprint. It's a gradual process of continuous learning, practice and immersion. Every new unit opened doors to different cultures and perspectives that widened my worldview. The journey was as important as the destination. As I get ready to begin 5th grade, I know there are new challenges awaiting me. But this textbook has given me the solid foundations to tackle them with confidence. Who knows, maybeI'll even be able to start reading simple English novels soon! For now though, I look back with immense gratitude for the year I spent exploring its vibrant world of stories, activities and learning opportunities. Thanks to this textbook, English feels much less like an alien language, and more like una vieja amiga.篇3My Journey with the Grade 4 English TextbookHello there! My name is Lily, and I'm a 4th grader at Shanghai Xingzhi Primary School. Today, I want to share my experience with our English textbook, "Go for It! Grade 4," which we've been using since the beginning of the school year. When I first received this thick, bright yellow book, I was a little intimidated. It looked so different from the previous year's textbook, and I wondered if the lessons would be too difficult for me. However, my worries quickly faded away as I started exploring its contents. One of the things I love most about this textbook is the engaging storyline that runs through each unit. It follows the adventures of a group of friends – Tom, Lily, and their classmates – as they navigate various situations and learn valuable lessonsalong the way. This storytelling approach makes the lessons feel more relational and easier to understand. The units cover a wide range of topics, from daily routines and hobbies to environmental awareness and cultural celebrations. Each unit is divided into four parts: Starter, Discovery, Words and Skills, and Wrap-up. The Starter section introduces the theme and activates our prior knowledge, while the Discovery part immerses us in the storyline and presents new language points. The Words and Skills section reinforces the vocabulary and grammar we've learned, and the Wrap-up allows us to review and apply what we've studied. One of my favorite units is Unit 6, "A Trip to the Countryside." In this unit, we learned about life in rural areas and the importance of preserving our natural environment. The storyline followed Tom and his friends as they visited a farm and experienced the joys of outdoor activities. I particularly enjoyed the reading passages, which were filled with vivid descriptions and interesting facts about different animals and plants.Another unit that stands out for me is Unit 8, "Festivals Around the World." This unit introduced us to various cultural celebrations, such as the Chinese Spring Festival, the American Thanksgiving, and the Brazilian Carnival. I loved learning aboutthe traditions and customs associated with these events, and it made me appreciate the diversity of cultures around the world. The textbook also includes a variety of fun and interactive activities, such as songs, chants, and games. These activities not only make learning English more enjoyable but also help reinforce the language concepts we've learned. My personal favorite is the "Tongue Twisters" section, where we practice challenging phrases and improve our pronunciation skills. One aspect of the textbook that I find particularly helpful is the "Learning Strategies" section. This section provides us with useful tips and techniques for effective language learning, such as using context clues, making associations, and practicing regularly. By applying these strategies, I've noticed a significant improvement in my English proficiency.Of course, no textbook is perfect, and there are a few areas where I think this one could be improved. For instance, some of the reading passages can be a bit text-heavy, which can be challenging for younger learners like myself. Additionally, while the textbook covers a diverse range of topics, I would love to see even more representation of different cultures and perspectives.Overall, however, I'm extremely satisfied with our Grade 4 English textbook. It has made learning English an enjoyable andrewarding experience for me. The relatable storylines, engaging activities, and well-structured lessons have all contributed to my growth and confidence in using the English language. As I prepare to move on to the next grade level, I can't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards this textbook. It has been a trusty companion on my journeyto become a proficient English speaker, and I'm excited to continue building upon the solid foundation it has provided me.Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts and experiences with you. I hope this essay has given you a glimpse into the world of our Grade 4 English textbook and inspired you to embrace the joy of language learning, just as I have.。

The arugula(芝麻菜)was to make a nice green salad, rounding out a roast chicken dinner. But I ended up working late. Then friends called with a dinner invitation. I stuck the chicken in the freezer. But as days passed, the arugula went bad. Even worse, I had unthinkingly bought way too much; I could have made six salads with what I threw out.In a world where nearly 800 million people a year go hungry, "food waste goes against the moral grain," as Elizabeth Royte writes in this month's cover story. It's jaw-dropping how much perfectly good food is thrown away—from “ugly"(but quite eatable)vegetables rejected by grocers to large amounts of uneaten dishes thrown into restaurant garbage cans.Producing food that no one eats wastes the water, fuel, and other resources used to grow it. That makes food waste an environmental problem. In fact, Royte writes, "if food waste were a country, it would be the third largest producer of greenhouse gases in the world."If that's hard to understand, let's keep it as simple as the arugula at the back of my refrigerator. Mike Curtin sees my arugula story all the time — but for him, it's more like 12 bones of donated strawberries nearing their last days. Curtin is CEO of DC Central Kitchen in Washington, D.C., which recovers food and turns it into healthy meals. Last year it recovered more than 807,500 pounds of food by taking donations and collecting blemished(有瑕疵的)produce that otherwise would have rotted in fields. And the strawberries? Volunteers will wash, cut, and freeze or dry them for use in meals down the road.Such methods seem obvious, yet so often we just don't think. "Everyone can play a part in reducing waste, whether by not purchasing more food than necessary in your weekly shopping or by asking restaurants to not include the side dish you won't eat," Curtin says.(1)What does the author want to show by telling the arugula story?A.We pay little attention to food waste.B.We waste food unintentionally at times.C.We waste more vegetables than meat.D.We have good reasons for wasting food.(2)What is a consequence of food waste according to the text?A.Moral decline.B.Environmental harm.C.Energy shortage.D.Worldwide starvation.(3)What does Curtin's company do?A.It produces kitchen equipment.B.It turns rotten arugula into clean fuel.C.It helps local farmers grow fruits.D.It makes meals out of unwanted food.(4)What does Curtin suggest people do?A.Buy only what is needed.B.Reduce food consumption.C.Go shopping once a week.D.Eat in restaurants less often. The elderly residents(居民)in care homes in London are being given hens to look after to stop them feeling lonely. The project was dreamed up by a local charity(慈善组织)to reduce loneliness and improve elderly people's wellbeing, It is also being used to help patients suffering dementia, a serious illness of the mind. Staff in care homes have reported a reduction in the use of medicine where hens are in use.Among those taking part in the project is 80-year-old Ruth Xavier. She said: “I used to keep hens when I was younger and had to prepare their breakfast each morning before I went to school."I like the project a lot. I am down there in my wheelchair in the morning letting the hens out and down there again at night to see they've gone to bed."It's good to have a different focus. People have been bringing their children in to see the hens and residents come and sit outside to watch them. I'm enjoying the creative activities, and it feels great to have done something useful."There are now 700 elderly people looking after hens in 20 care homes in the North East, and the charity has been given financial support to roll it out countrywide.Wendy Wilson, extra care manager at 60 Penfold Street, one of the first to embark on the project, said: "Residents really welcome the idea of the project and the creative sessions. We are looking forward to the benefits and fun the project can bring to people here."Lynn Lewis, director of Notting Hill Pathways, said: "We are happy to be taking part in the project. It will really help connect our residents through a shared interest and creative activities."(1)What is the purpose of the project?A.To ensure harmony in care homes.B.To provide part-time jobs for the aged.C.To raise money for medical research.D.To promote the elderly people's welfare.(2)How has the project affected Ruth Xavier?A.She has learned new life skills.B.She has gained a sense of achievement.C.She has recovered her memory.D.She has developed a strong personality.(3)What do the underlined words "embark on" mean in paragraph 7?A.Improve.B.Oppose.C.Begin.D.Evaluate.(4)What can we learn about the project from the last two paragraphs?A.It is well received.B.It needs to be more creative.C.It is highly profitable.D.It takes ages to see the results.Human speech contains more than 2,000 different sounds, from the common "m" and "a" to the rare clicks of some southern African languages. But why are certain sounds more common than others? A ground-breaking, five-year study shows that diet-related changes in human bite led to new speech sounds that are now found in half the world's languages.More than 30 years ago, the scholar Charles Hockett noted that speech sounds called labiodentals, such as "f" and "v", were more common in the languages of societies that ate softer foods. Now a team of researchers led by Damián Blasi at theUniversity of Zurich, Switzerland, has found how and why this trend arose. They discovered that the upper and lower front teeth of ancient human adults were aligned(对齐), making it hard to produce labiodentals, which are formed by touching the lower lip to the upper teeth. Later, our jaws changed to an overbite structure(结构), making it easier to produce such sounds. The team showed that this change in bite was connected with the development of agriculture in the Neolithic period. Food became easier to chew at this point. The jawbone didn't have to do as much work and so didn't grow to be so large.Analyses of a language database also confirmed that there was a global change in the sound of world languages after the Neolithic age, with the use of "f" and "v" increasing remarkably during the last few thousand years. These sounds are still not found in the languages of many hunter-gatherer people today. This research overturns the popular view that all human speech sounds were present when human beings evolved around 300,000 years ago. "The set of speech sounds we use has not necessarily remained stable since the appearance of human beings, but rather the huge variety of speech sounds that we find today is the product of a complex interplay of things like biological change and cultural evolution," said Steven Moran, a member of the research team.(1)Which aspect of the human speech sound does Damián Blasi's research focus on?A.Its variety.B.Its distribution.C.Its quantity.D.Its development.(2)Why was it difficult for ancient human adults to produce labiodentals?A.They had fewer upper teeth than lower teeth.B.They could not open and close their lips easily.C.Their jaws were not conveniently structured.D.Their lower front teeth were not large enough.(3)What is paragraph 5 mainly about?A.Supporting evidence for the research results.B.Potential application of the research findings.C. A further explanation of the research methods.D. A reasonable doubt about the research process.(4)What does Steven Moran say about the set of human speech sounds?A.It is key to effective communication.B.It contributes much to cultural diversity.C.It is a complex and dynamic system.D.It drives the evolution of human beings.二、阅读理解第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)5、Fitness Magazine recently ran an article titled "Five Reasons to Thank Your Workout Partner." But I ended up working late. Then friends called with a dinner invitation. I stuck the chicken in the freezer. But as days passed, the arugula went bad. Even worse, I had unthinkingly bought way too much; I could have made six salads with what I threw out.In a world where nearly 800 million people a year go hungry, “food waste goes against the moral grain,” as Elizabeth Royte writes in this month’s cover story. It’s jaw-dropping how much perfectly good food is thrown away — from “ugly” (but quiet eatable) vegetables rejected by grocers to large amounts of uneaten dishes thrown into restaurant garbage cans.Producing food that no one eats wastes the water, fuel, and other resources used to grow it. That makes food waste an environmental problem. In fact, Royte writes, “if food waste were a country, it would be the third largest producer of greenhouse gases in the world.”If that’s hard to understand, let’s keep it as simple as the arugula at the back of my refrigerator. Mike Curtin sees my arugula story all the time — but for him, it’s more like 12 boxes of donated strawberries nearing their last days. Curtin is CEO of DC Central Kitchen in Washington, D.C., which recovers food and turns it into healthy meals. Last year it recovered more than 807,500 pounds of food by taking donations and collecting blemished (有瑕疵的) produce that otherwise would have rotted in fields. And the strawberries? V olunteers will wash, cut, and freeze or dry them for use in meals down the road.Such methods seem obvious, yet so often we just don’t think. “Everyone can play a part in reducing waste, whether by not purchasing more food than necessary in your weekly shopping or by asking restaurants to not include the side dish you won’t eat,” Curtin says.24. What does the author want to show by telling the arugula story?A. We pay little attention to food waste.B. We waste food unintentionally at times.C. We waste more vegetables than meat.D. We have good reasons for wasting food.25. What is a consequence of food waste according to the text?A. Moral decline.B. Environmental harm.C. Energy shortage.D. Worldwide starvation.26. What does Curtin’s company do?A. It produces kitchen equipment.B. It turns rotten arugula into clean fuel.C. It helps local farmers grow fruits.D. It makes meals out of unwanted food.27. What does Curtin suggest people do?A. Buy only what is needed.B. Reduce food consumption.C. Go shopping once a week.D. Eat in restaurants less often.CThe elderly residents(居民) in care homes in London are being given hens to look after to stop them feeling lonely. The project was dreamed up by a local charity(慈善组织) to reduce loneliness and improve elderly people's wellbeing. It is also being used to help patients suffering dementia, a serious illness of the mind. Staff in care homes have reported a reduction in the use of medicine where hens are in use.Among those taking part in the project is 80-year-old Ruth Xavier. People have been bringing their children in to see the hens and residents come and sit outside to watch them. I'm enjoying thecreative activities, and it feels great to have done something useful."There are now 700 elderly people looking after hens in 20 care homes in the North East, and the charity has been given financial support to roll it out countrywide.Wendy Wilson, extra care manager at 60 Penfold Street, one of the first to embark on the project, said: "Residents really welcome the idea of the project and the creative sessions. We are looking forward to the benefits and fun the project can bring to people here."Lynn Lewis, director of Notting Hill Pathways, said: "We are happy to be taking part in the project. But why are certain sounds more common than others? A ground-breaking, five-year study shows that diet-related changes in human bite led to new speech sounds that are now found inhalf the world's languages.More than 30 years ago, the scholar Charles Hockett noted that speech sounds called labiodentals, such as "f" and "y", were more common in the languages of societies that ate softer foods. Now a team of researchers led by Damián Blasi at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, has found how and why this trend arose. They discovered that the upper and lower front teeth of ancient human adults were aligned (对齐), making it hard to produce labiodentals, which are formed by touching the lower lip to the upper teeth. Later, our jaws changed to an overbite structure (结构), making it easier to produce such sounds. "The set of speech sounds we use has not necessarily remained stable since the appearance of human beings, but rather the huge variety of speech sounds that we find today is the product of a complex interplay of things like biological change and cultural evolution," said Steven Moran, a member of the research team.32. Which aspect of the human speech sound does Damián Blasi's research focus on?A. Its variety.B. Its distribution.C. Its quantity.D. Its development.33. Why was it difficult for ancient human adults to produce labiodentals?A. They had fewer upper teeth than lower teeth.B. They could not open and close their lips easily.C. Their jaws were not conveniently structured.D. Their lower front teeth were not large enough.34. What is paragraph 5 mainly about?A. Supporting evidence for the research results.B. Potential application of the research findings.C. A further explanation of the research methods.D. A reasonable doubt about the research process.35. What does Steven Moran say about the set of human speech sounds?A. It is key to effective communication.B. It contributes much to cultural diversity.C. It is a complex and dynamic system.D. It drives the evolution of human beings.A篇文学导论的评分原则评分量表90 – 100 A ;80 - 89, B; 70 - 79 C; 60 - 69 D; 60分以下E.论文(60%)你的四篇主要论文将构成该课程评分的主要部分:论文1 = 10%;论文2 = 15%;论文3 = 15%;论文4 =20%小组作业(30%)这门课程学生将分组完成四项作业。

班规的英语作文 四年级不少于十句话

班规的英语作文四年级不少于十句话篇1Title: The Importance of Class RulesHi everyone! Today I want to talk about the class rules we have in our 4th grade classroom. Class rules are super important because they help us all get along and learn better.First of all, we have a rule about raising our hands before speaking. This is really useful because if we all just shouted out at once, it would be total chaos! Our teacher wouldn't be able to hear anyone properly. By raising our hands politely, we take turns and respect each other.Another key rule is about being kind and not bullying others. Bullying is really mean and can make people feel sad, scared or left out. At our school, we don't accept any bullying behavior like name-calling, hitting, or leaving people out on purpose. We treat everyone with kindness and respect. We also have a rule about listening carefully when the teacher or others are talking. It's important to be a good listener so we can understand what we're being taught and followinstructions properly. If we're not listening, we might miss something really important! Our class rules also cover things like being on time, doing our homework, and keeping our classroom tidy. These rules help create an environment where we can all focus on learning without distractions or messes getting in the way.Sometimes it can be hard to always follow the rules, I'll admit that. We're just kids after all! But our teacher explains why the rules are there - to help us become better students and better people. The rules teach us to be responsible, considerate and hardworking.I feel really lucky to have such a well-run classroom with clear rules that everyone understands and tries their best to follow. The rules make me feel safe, respected and able to concentrate on all the fun stuff we're learning. In the end, class rules aren't just boring regulations - they are an important part of creating a happy, productive place for us to grow and learn together as a class. I'm proud that we have good rules and I'll keep doing my part to follow them. After all, we're team!篇2My Class RulesMy class is so much fun! We have many rules to follow, but they are not hard. These rules help keep our classroom nice and make everyone happy. The first rule is to be kind to your classmates. No bullying or fighting is allowed. We should treat others how we want to be treated. I always try to say nice things and share my toys during playtime.Another important rule is to listen when the teacher is talking. The teacher works very hard to help us learn, so we should pay attention. Raising our hand to ask a question is good. But we cannot shout out or talk when the teacher is speaking. We also have to keep our classroom clean and tidy. Before we go home, we pick up any trash or papers on the floor. Keeping our desks organized helps too. I don't want to lose my pencils and books!During class, we must try our best and do our work. Homework is not super fun, but it helps us practice what we learned. I like to take my time and double check my work.Of course, we get breaks during the day to rest and play. At recess, we can run around and play games outside. But we haveto follow the playground rules too. No climbing on things we're not supposed to climb. And we share the toys and equipment. Our class has a reading time where we can look at books quietly. This helps build our reading skills. We have to be calm and respect others who are reading. When we line up to go somewhere, we walk in a straight line and keep our hands to ourselves. No pushing or shoving! We have to stay together so no one gets lost.At lunchtime in the cafeteria, we use good manners. No throwing food or making messes. We talk softly with friends so we don't bother others. The last rule is an important one - always try your best! If we follow the class rules and do our best work, our teacher will be proud. I feel happy when I follow the rules. They help our classroom be a kind, safe and fun place to learn.篇3Our Class RulesHello everyone! My name is Lucy, and I am 10 years old. I go to Green Hill Elementary School, and I am in 4th grade. Today, I want to talk about the rules we have in our class. Having rules isvery important because it helps us all get along, stay safe, and learn better. The first rule we have is to always raise our hand before speaking. This is so that we don't all talk at the same time and make it hard for the teacher to understand us. It also shows respect for our classmates who might be trying to share something important.Another rule is to keep our hands and feet to ourselves. This means no hitting, kicking, or pushing others. We shouldn't even play fight or wrestle because someone could get hurt. It's better to play safe games that don't involve touching each other. We also have to be on time for class every day. If we are late, we might miss important lessons or instructions from the teacher. Being late can also disturb the other students who are already working. My mom always makes sure I leave home early enough to get to school on time.Listening carefully when the teacher is talking is another rule. The teacher works hard to explain things clearly, so we should pay attention. If we don't listen, we might miss something important or have to ask the teacher to repeat everything again.Treating our classmates with kindness and respect is very important too. We should never tease, bully, or make fun of others. Everyone deserves to feel safe and welcome in our classroom. If someone is unkind to us, we can tell the teacher so they can help solve the problem.Doing our homework and classwork on time is also a rule. Our teacher gives us work to help us practice what we're learning. If we don't do it, we might fall behind and struggle to understand new lessons. I always try my best to finish my work before playing video games or watching TV.Keeping our classroom clean and tidy is another rule. We shouldn't litter or make a mess because it's disrespectful to our teacher and the school staff who have to clean up after us. We take turns being classroom helpers to keep everything organized.Following the dress code is important too. We can't wear clothes with inappropriate words or pictures. We also can't wear things like slippers or pajamas to school because it's not dressy enough. Dressing properly shows respect for our school and education. The last rule I'll mention is no cheating or copying work from others. Doing our own work helps us truly learn and understandthe material. Cheating is dishonest and means we're not really learning anything. It's better to try our best and ask the teacher for help when we're struggling. Those are the main rules we have in our 4th grade class. I think having rules helps create a positive learning environment where we all feel comfortable, safe, and ready to learn each day. Some rules might seem strict, but they have good reasons behind them. As long as we all follow the rules, our classroom stays an awesome place to learn and grow!。

5. Why does Churchill classify as unfortunate those people who can command everything they want, gratify every caprice and lay their hands on almost every object of desire? Do you think Churchill’s attitude towards those people is really one of sympathy? These people are simply hopeless; nothing works to relieve them of their boredom. Churchill does not really feel sympathetic towards them. Note the phrase “avenging boredom”. He seems to think that this is what they deserve.

We have the best teacher ever, Mrs. Thompson, and she makes learning so exciting and enjoyable. Our classroom is bright and colorful, with lots of posters and decorations on the walls. At the front, there's a big whiteboard where Mrs. Thompson writes down important information and displays our work. We also have a cozy reading corner with beanbags and bookshelves filled with all kinds of amazing books. In the morning, we start our day by singing a good morning song together. Mrs. Thompson always has a big smile on her face, and her cheerful mood is contagious. We then go over the schedule for the day, and she reminds us of any special events or activities we have planned. One of my favorite subjects is math. Mrs. Thompson makes it really fun by using games and hands-on activities to help us understand difficult concepts. We often work in groups or pairs, which makes problem-solving more enjoyable and collaborative.During reading time, we get to choose books from the classroom library or bring our own from home. Sometimes, Mrs. Thompson reads aloud to us, and other times we read independently or with a partner. We also have discussions about the books we read, which helps us improve our comprehension and critical thinking skills.Science is another subject I really enjoy. We get to do lots of cool experiments and learn about the world around us. One time, we grew plants from seeds and observed how they changed over time. It was so exciting to watch them sprout and grow taller each day.Our class also has a special talent show every year. We get to showcase our unique skills and interests, whether it's singing, dancing, playing an instrument, or performing magic tricks. It's always a lot of fun and boosts our confidence. One of the things that make our class truly special is the sense of community and friendship. We all look out for each other and support one another. If someone is feeling sad orhaving a tough day, our classmates are always there to offer kind words and a helping hand.Mrs. Thompson also encourages us to be responsible and respectful citizens. We have classroom jobs and chores that rotate each week, teaching us the importance of teamwork and taking care of our shared space. At the end of the day, we gather together for a closing circle. We reflect on what we learned, share any accomplishments or challenges, and express gratitude for one another. It's a nice way to wrap up the day and leave feeling positive and motivated for the next one.Our class is truly a wonderful place to learn and grow. Mrs. Thompson has created an environment that is not only educational but also fun, supportive, and nurturing. I feel lucky to be part of such an amazing group of students and teachers. These are memories that I will cherish for years to come.篇2Our ClassOur class is the best class ever! We have so much fun and learn a lot too. There are 25 students including me. Today, I want to tell you all about my amazing classmates and our interesting classroom. In our class, we have 30 students, including 15 boys and 15 girls. Our teacher, Miss Johnson, is the best teacher in the whole school. She is kind, patient, and always encourages us to do our best.Every morning, we start the day by greeting each other. We say "Good morning!" and give high fives or hugs to our friends. It makes us feel happy and ready for the day ahead. Our classroom is colorful and full of life. We have a big bulletin board where we display our artwork and achievements. We have different subjects throughout the day, and each one is exciting in its own way. In English class, we learn new words and practice reading aloud. Sometimes, we even put on small plays to improve our speaking skills. Math class is fun too! We solve puzzles and play math games, which help us become better problem solvers.During break time, we get to play outside. We have a big playground with swings, slides, and a soccer field. We love playing tag and hide-and-seek. It's a chance for us to run around, laugh, and have fun with our friends. In our class, we have a classroom pet named Charlie. Charlie is a cute little hamster, and we take turns taking care of him. We feed him, give him fresh water, and clean his cage. Charlie makes our class feel cozy and brings smiles to our faces. One of the best things about our class is that we all help and support each other. If someone is struggling with a subject, we offer to study together during lunch break. We also celebrate each other's successes. When someone does well on a test or accomplishes something special, we cheer and clap for them. It feels like we are one big family. At the end of the day, we pack our bags and say goodbye to each other. We wave and promise to see each other tomorrow.Being in this class makes me excited to come to school every day.I am grateful to be a part of such an amazing class. We learn, play, and grow together. Our class is not just a place to study, but a place where friendships are made, dreams are nurtured, and memories are created. That's all about our class. Thank you for reading my essay. I hope you enjoyed learning about our wonderful class!Word count: 352 words篇4Our ClassMy name is Emily and I am in the 4th grade. I love my class and I want to tell you all about it! We have the best teacher ever, Mrs. Johnson. She is so kind and patient with us. She makes learning fun and never gets upset when we make mistakes. Mrs. Johnson always has a big smile on her face. There are 22 students in our class, including me. We all have different personalities but we get along really well. My best friend is Sarah. She sits next to me and we always partner up for group projects. Sarah is really smart and helps me when I don'tunderstand something. She also makes me laugh with her silly jokes! One of the funny kids in our class is Jack. He is always cracking jokes and making goofy faces. Sometimes he gets in trouble for being too disruptive, but we can't stay mad at him for long. Jack is really good at art and draws the coolest pictures. Then there's Aisha. She is super athletic and the fastest runner in our grade. Aisha is also very competitive, especially when we play games during gym class. But she is a good sport and never brags when she wins. I really admire her dedication to practicing sports every day after school.Michael is the class brain. He seems to know the answer to every question the teacher asks! Michael is also really tech-savvy and helps our teacher with the computer and interactive whiteboard. Sometimes the rest of us get jealous of how smart he is, but Michael is actually very humble about his abilities. Our classroom itself is pretty awesome too. The walls are covered in our artwork and projects from throughout the year. We have a reading corner with beanbags and a shelf full of great books. There are tables for group work instead of individual desks, so we can collaborate easily. One of my favorite parts of the classroom is the science center, where we have supplies for experiments. Last month, we got to grow bean plants and watch them sprout from the seeds. It was so cool to see the changes day by day! The science center also has a big tank with two frogs as class pets.Every week, we have "Show and Share" where a few students can bring in something special to present to the class. Some kids have brought in cool rocks they found, pictures from a family vacation, or even their pet hamster! Show and Share is always fun because we get to learn about our classmates' interests. We go on lots of fun field trips too. Earlier this year, we went to an art museum and got to try different painting and sculpting techniques. We also took a trip to a local farm and got to milk cows, feed chickens, and run through the fields. Field trips make the things we're learning in class come alive.Even though the work can be tough, our teacher makes it as engaging as possible. We sing songs to memorize facts, play educational games, and get hands-on with lots of projects and experiments. We even put on a short play about explorers for our families. Getting to be creative and interactive really helps the lessons stick in our minds. At the end of each day, we have a closing circle where we share compliments, discuss how we displayed the "word of the week" like integrity or perseverance, and prepare for the next day. I always leave school feeling accomplished and excited to come back tomorrow. Our class has such an amazing community of teachers, students and families. We support each other, celebrate our successes together, and push each other to dream big. Fourth grade has been the best year yet, and I know our class will have even more great adventures ahead of us. I feel so lucky to be part of this special group!篇5Our Class - An Essay by a Fourth GraderWow, where do I even begin when it comes to talking about my class? We're such an awesome group of kids, and every single day is filled with fun, laughter, and lots of learning! I can't imagine being in any other class.Let me start by telling you about our teacher, Ms. Johnson. She's the best teacher ever! Ms. Johnson is always so patient and kind, no matter how many silly questions we ask or how much noise we make. She has a way of making even the trickiest mathproblems or the most boring history lessons seem interesting. Plus, she tells the funniest jokes and does these hilarious voices when she reads our favorite storybooks aloud. One of my favorite things about Ms. Johnson is how she encourages us to be creative and think outside the box. Like last month, when we were learning about plants, she let us design and plant our own little class garden. We all got to pick out different seeds and decorate our planters with paint and sparkles. It was so much fun getting our hands dirty and watching our seeds sprout into tiny seedlings. Now we take turns watering and caring for our garden every day.Speaking of our class, we've got such a cool and diverse group of kids. There are 24 of us in total, and we come from all sorts of different backgrounds and cultures. Liam's family is from Ireland, Sophia's parents are from Mexico, and Amir's grandparents immigrated here from Egypt. It's so neat learning about everyone's traditions and hearing them share stories in their native languages. We've even had parents come in and teach us some words or show us traditional dances from their home countries.Despite our differences, we all get along so well and have become the best of friends. We look out for each other, whetherit's saving someone a spot at the lunch table or helping a classmate who's struggling with their times tables. Recess is always a blast, with giant games of tag or kickball that involve the whole class. Sometimes we'll put on little talent shows or skits for each other during indoor recess on rainy days. Our class wouldn't be complete without our classroom pets either! We have two adorable hamsters named Fluffball and Nibbles who live in a huge cage filled with tunnels, a running wheel, and tons of fun chew toys. Taking care of them and watching them scamper around is one of the highlights of our day. We also have a beautiful beta fish named Bubbles who seems to dance whenever we put on some music.I could go on and on about all the awesome things that make up our class, like our cozy reading nook filled with beanbags and blankets, or our "Caught Being Good" jar that Ms. Johnson fills with marbles whenever she catches us being kind or hardworking. Maybe I'll tell you about our epic field trips to the science museum and the fire station next. Let's just say this year has been one wild ride so far, filled with more fun memories than I can count! What really makes our class so special though, is the sense of community and how much we all care about each other. Wecelebrate each other's successes, we comfort each other when we're sad, and we always have each other's backs. Ms. Johnson says we're more than just a class - we're a family. And you know what? She's absolutely right. I feel so lucky to be a part of this amazing group of people. Here's to many more adventures and tons more learning still to come!篇6Our ClassMy class is the best class ever! We have so much fun together and learn really cool things. There are 24 kids in my class - 12 boys and 12 girls. We all get along great and have lots of friends. Our teacher's name is Mrs. Johnson and she is awesome! She makes learning exciting with all the games and activities we do. She has a nice loud voice that can get our attention when we get too noisy. But she also has a very nice soft voice when she reads us stories. Her favorite subject is science and she always plans the neatest experiments for us to do.One time we made little rockets out of film canisters and launched them by putting an Alka-Seltzer tablet and some water inside. When the carbon dioxide gas built up, the lids wentshooting off! It was so cool to see them flying across the classroom. Another time we made crystals by dissolving borax in water and letting the solution evaporate slowly. We ended up with these really neat crystal creations in all different shapes and sizes.Mrs. Johnson also gives us fun art projects to work on. For Christmas we made ornaments out of salt dough and painted them with acrylic paints. I made a little Santa decoration that I gave to my grandma. For the 100th day of school celebration, we made sculptures out of 100 pieces, like paperclips, marshmallows, dry pasta, etc. You had to really use your creativity! I hot-glued 100 popsicle sticks together to make a little house. Our classroom is decorated with all of our best work and projects from the whole year. We have a big reading corner with a rainbow rug and tons of awesome books. There's a listening center with headphones where we can follow along to stories on CDs. We also have computers that we use for math and reading games. At the back of our room, we have a huge fish tank with all kinds of cool fish swimming around. We take turns feeding them each day and have classroom jobs related to caring for the fish. It's really peaceful to sit and watch the fish swim around when we have quiet reading time.Outside our classroom, there is a huge oak tree that provides lots of shade on the playground. We sometimes have class outside under the tree and do activities like nature journaling. One time we even had a picnic lunch out there! In the mornings when we arrive at school, we line up by the doors and wait to be let inside. We all chit-chat and laugh with our friends while we're waiting. Then we go straight to our cubbies to unpack our bookbags and get ready for the day. We put away our lunchboxes and anything else we brought from home. Our daily schedule is reading, writing, math, science/social studies, and special classes like music, art, gym, and library. We have recess after lunch to go run and play outside. I love doing cartwheels and swinging really high on the swings! At the end of each day, we have a closing circle on the rainbow rug. Mrs. Johnson reads us a short story and we discuss our highs and lows for the day. My favorite part is when she shares the Bucket Filler winners - kids who were caught being extra kind, helpful, or hard-working that day. If you get a BucketFiller, you get to go up and put a pom-pom in the class bucket. The team who fills their bucket first gets a pizza party!School is the best, especially with my amazing class and a teacher like Mrs. Johnson. We learn so many interesting things and make tons of friends. I can't wait to come back next year for 5th grade! But I'll really miss my 4th grade class and all the good times we had together. What a fun year it has been!。
