Make Yogurt by Yourself
As is known to all, the yogurt has very high nutritional value, and it tastes delicious. It is good for people, especially. I am used to drinking several glasses of yogurt per week. Yogurt is a kind of milk products, and it is made from fresh milk. The process is that the beneficial bacteria or the leavening agent are added into the pasteurized milk. After the fermentation, the yogurt can be made out.
Although it is convenient to buy different flavors of yogurt from the supermarket, making the yogurt by oneself, could fit one’s own taste. Moreover, making yogurt is very funny.
The materials used for making yogurt include fresh milk, sugar, container and a small amount of yogurt. The yogurt here can be any kind of plain yogurt. Its sole purpose is to provide the lactic acid bacteria. The yogurt production process is as follows. First, boil the tools and the container before using them. The purpose of boiling is to kill other bacteria. This step is very important. Metal or glass container is preferred. Secondly, pour the fresh milk into the container that was boiled earlier and add some sugar in the milk. The amount of sugar depends on your own taste. Heat the milk to 40 degree Celsius. The fresh milk can be heated in a microwave, and can also be boiled and then be cooled to 40 degrees. Thirdly, place the container filled with milk at certain place to maintain the heat. Yogurt machine is a good choice, and an oven can be used as well. Yogurt machine is very easy to make yogurt. You can turn on the power, and the yogurt can be enjoyed after eight hours. If using the oven, turn the temperature of the oven to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and then place the container in the oven. It will take ten hours to finish the express of making yogurt.
Before enjoying yogurt, adding some honey or chopped fruit will be better. However, yogurt can’t be fermented too long. Maybe it is unsuccessful for the first attempt. Try a few more times, it will be successful to make the most suited-taste yogurt. If the time of fermentation is suitable, it will be the Chinese
