它的荒诞内容使得评论界对其评价向来褒贬不一。
纵观整部作品的构架，我们不难看出这是出于作者的匠心独运。
为此，欲了解作品的深层内涵，由作品的结构设置、人物出场次序等方面来进行解析是十分有必要的。
关键词：川端康成：睡美人：解析《睡美人》是日本作家川端康成年过花甲时发表的作品，最初连载于昭和35年(1960)1―6月和昭和36年(1961)1―11月的《新潮》杂志上，其间曾因出访美国和参加在巴西召开的第31届国际笔会而暂停半年。

当江口老人首次来到“睡美人”之家时，与他共寝的姑娘非常纯真，这令他回想起最初与自己从北海道私奔到京都的情人。
江口早就猜测到姑娘必然会被带回家，但他依然不顾姑娘的清白，毅然决然地带着姑娘私奔了。
而在江口“上了年纪之后，有时看到京都附近小山上一片优美的赤松树干，就会唤回对这个姑娘的记忆。
