They know that the best way to read a text book is to look at the questions at the end of the chapter and then skim the text for the answers.Teaching to the test is a curious phenomenon. Instead of deciding what skills students ought to learn, helping students learn them, and then using some sensible methods of assessment to discover whether students have mastered the skills, teachers are encouraged to reverse the process. First one looks at a test. Then one chooses the skills needed not to master reading, but to do well in the test. Finally, the test skills are taught. The ability to read or write or calculate might imply the ability to do reasonably well on standardized tests. However, neither reading nor writing develops simply through being taught to take tests. We must be careful to avoid mistaking preparation for a test of a skill with the acquisition of that skill. Too many discussions of basic skills make this misunderstanding because people are only interested in the test rather than concerned with the nature and quality of what is taught.13. Which of the following is true according to the passage? (D)14. What is the direct result of so many tests filli ng children‘s school work?(B)15. What is the danger of attaching unnecessary importance to testing? (B)高考英语听力模拟练习:Section ADirections: In Section A, you will hear ten short conversations between two speakers. The passages will be read twice, but the questions will be spoken only once. When you hear a question, read the four possible answers on your paper and decide which one would be the best answer to the question you have heard.Questions 11 through 13 are based on the following passage.Pace refers to how fast or how slow you speak. If you speak too fast, you may be difficult to follow. If you speak too slowly, you risk losing the attention of your audience. If audience attention seems to be drifting away, try picking up your pace. Usually you don‘tknow that you have been going too fast until someone tells you so after your speech is over. If you are told this, guard against this mistake in the future. In your next speech write reminders on your note cards to slow down.Ideally the speaker varies his or her pace. Speaking fast and then slowing down helps keep the attention of the audience. Also, don‘t forget the benefits of pausing. A pause before or after a dramatic moment is a highly effective technique. The next time you are watching a comedian on television, watch how he or she uses pauses.11.What should you do if audience attention seems to be drifting away?(A)12.How do you avoid speaking too fast during a speech?(C)13.What‘s the benefit of pausing?(D)Questions 14 through 16 are based on the following passage.Teaching is supposed to be a professional activity requiring long and complicated training. However, teaching needs not be the province of a special group, nor forcing information into a supposedly empty head but guiding and assisting. If you have a certain skill you should be able to share it with someone. All of us, from the youngest child to the oldest member of our society, should come to realize our own potential as teachers. We can share what we know, however little it might be, with someone who has need of that knowledge or skill.14.What is teaching?(B)15.Which statement is right?(C)16.What is the purpose of writing this passage?(D)Section CDirections: In Section C, you will hear two longer conversations. 上海中学生英文报(ssp)高考版寒假特刊1月答案(除听力
部分,有作文范文)
As vividly shown in the picture, we can clearly find that the boy is so absorbed in chatting on the Internet while his mother was standing behind. Obviously, his mother wanted to talk to his son but unexpectedly, what she got as a response from her son was “ can’t talk now. I am chatting.” In fact, what the picture conveys here is far from what a web user is doing in his virtual world. Instead, it reveals thought-provoking phenomenon.
However, we have to admit such a phenomenon is quite familiar to us. It can be understandable that online chatting, as a new communicative way, has become more and more popular, especially with us youngsters. Taking me as an example, I used to be sitting in front of the computer day and night, typing, playing games or chatting. You know what happened ? It was not only a waste of time but also caused me to pay less and less attention to people and things around. As a result, I neglected my study and gave up much social communication which is essential for mental health.
Of course now I realized we should take a positive attitude towards the Internet so as not to be addicted to it. We should try to reduce the negative effect to the minimum and make online chatting our valuable assistant. We should interact with our parents frequently to narrow the generation gap. Just imagine if we become too dependent on chatting on the Internet, it may, in the long run, give rise to more serious social problems.
As we all know, Shanghai World Expo is bring great benefits to China. Millions of guests from home and abroad visited Shanghai. We showed the significant development in science and
technology of Shanghai and many beautiful tourist attractions to the whole world.
However, some phenomenons are arousing our attention at the same time. Some people who are not disabled are sitting in wheel-chairs. Baby strollers for babies were filled with young kids. We have also found that several people followed the same old man going through the Green entry and some others didn’t follow the right way of U-tern aisles and they jumped the queue instead, just for their convenience and benefits.
It is widely accepted that these behaviors are not right. On the surface of these phenomena, they left a bad impression on the visitors, but at the second thought, they provided a valuable opportunity for us Chinese to find out the bad habits of ourselves. Still more importantly, we also learnt that civilization is the key to making a harmonious city rather than science and technology.
All in all, we should lay emphasis on our behaviors and perfect our personality. Then we will show a harmonious society to the whole world.。
