旅游是生活多样化和丰富阅历的娱乐方式，不少学生也会因家庭条件，去过好多地方旅游，对这一话题有兴趣度。对于一些常见的旅游咨询，如book hotel room和book tickets，学生有一定了解，也能用简单句式I’d like to book表达需求。但对更多房间要求的选择谈论能力有限，用英文讨论订房需求、询问旅游目的地的情况的知识储备不充分，也无法在交际中，运用所学句型获取相关信息。此外，针对服务类专业学生，也需要提升其房间预定、目的地景点问询、旅游产品推介的职场语言沟通能力。因此需要激发学生兴趣，引导学生从语言输入到输出，从跟读模仿，到控制性练习，最后到订房、介绍旅游景点的有效语言交际。
