Unit 2 I'll help to clean up the city parks.第四课时Section B(1a~1e)【基础知识】1.辨析take after 与look like(1)take after 指在性格,气质和外貌等方面与某人相像或相似。
(2)look like 只指在外貌或外表上相像或相似。
【注意】take after 属于“动词+介词”型短语,宾语无论是名词还是代词都要放在介词之后。
2. give away 意为“赠送,捐赠”,属于“动词+副词”型短语。
【拓展】give away 还可意为“分发”，此时相当于give out 。
3. run out of 意为“用完,用尽”,相当于use up 。
其主语通常为人; run out 也有“用完,用尽”的意思,但它的主语通常为物。
【注意】当它们的主语都指人时可以互用。
4.辨析mend/ repair/fix三个词都有“修理"的意思,但侧重点不同:(1)mend 表示“修理”时,一般用于衣服鞋袜或只需要一个人修理的钟表、自行车、电视机等。
(2)repair 指“修理”复杂的、损伤较大的东西。
如:机器、汽车、建筑物，有时需要的人更多。
(3)fix 主要表示“安装,固定;修理”的意思。
【注意】三个词在表示“修理”小的东西,如钟表、电器、自行车等时常可以通用。
5.辨析similar 与samesimilar 是形容词,意为“相似的,相仿的”,在句中可作定语或表语,构成短语be similar to; same 也是形容词,意为“相同的,同样的" ,常与定冠词the 连用,构成短语be the same as 。
