The eleventh unit of my ninth grade English textbook is a doozy! But don't worry, I'm here to break it down for you in a super fun and easy way. Let's get started!First up, we've got a reading passage about endangered animals. It talks about how some animals, like pandas and tigers, are at risk of disappearing forever. It's so sad to think about! But it also tells us what we can do to help protect these precious creatures. We can recycle, reduce our use of plastic, and support conservation efforts. Every little bit helps!Next, we've got a grammar section all about verb tenses. There are so many different ones to learn – past, present, future, perfect – it can be a bit overwhelming. But if you pay attention and practice, you'll get the hang of it in no time. Just remember to match the tense with the time frame of the action, and you'll be golden! Then we move on to vocabulary, where we learn all sorts of new words and phrases. From synonyms and antonyms to idioms and collocations, there's a lot to soak in. But the more words you know, the better you'll be able to express yourself and understand others. So keep on studying and expanding your vocabulary – it'll pay off in the long run!Last but not least, we've got a writing assignment where we can showcase everything we've learned. Whether it's a persuasive essay, a descriptive paragraph, or a creative story, this is our chance to shine. So let's put our thinking caps on, grab our pencils, and start writing up a storm! In conclusion, the eleventh unit of my ninth grade English textbook may be challenging, but with a positive attitude and a lot of hard work, we can conquer it together. In this unit, we learn about using modal verbs like can, could, may, might, and should to talk about possibilities and suggestions. For example, we can say "We should recycle our plastic bottles" to suggest a good idea for helping the environment. There's also a listening exercise where we hear people talking about ways to protect the environment. They mention things like using public transportation, saving water, and planting trees. It's inspiring to hear how we can all make a difference in our own little ways.Lastly, we have a writing task where we get to share our own ideas on how to protect the environment. In America, there was once a town where all living things seemed to in a harmonious relationship with their surroundings. In spring, flowers bloomed in the green field while in autumn the leaves flamed with fiery color. The town was known/famous for its bird life and migrants and fish. But one day, everything changed. The town was silent and still. It was deserted and covered with the shadow of death which was caused by no one else but men.
Although this town doesn’t exist and no community has suffered/experienced all the above disasters, it is a harsh/cruel reality that many communities are experiencing some of the misfortunes brought by men’s power to alter the nature. Ever since we have the power, we have been assaulting/encroaching the environment. W e cause severe pollution and abuse chemicals and pesticides.
Each year hundreds of new chemicals come to actual use. They were applied universally/widely to farms, gardens, forests and so on. Do we really need so many chemicals to control the pest? To answer it, we must have the basic knowledge of animal populations and their relations to their surroundings. Then we find that insect problems appeared with the intensification of agriculture and the movement of the insects into new territories.
In short, I don’t mean we could never use chemical insecticides.
I mean that before we use them, we should distinguish poisonous
and biologically potent chemicals. Besides, we should inform people of the harm and make more investigations of the effect on soil, water and wildlife.。
