保护长江倡议书英语作文

倡议保护长江:守护我们的生命之源As the longest river in China and one of the most important waterways in the world, the Yangtze River plays a crucial role in our country's economic, cultural, and ecological development. However, in recent years, the Yangtze River has been facing serious environmental challenges, such as water pollution, erosion, and ecological degradation. Therefore, it is urgent for us to take actions to protect the Yangtze River and safeguard our life source.Firstly, we should strengthen water pollution control. Factories and enterprises along the river should adopt advanced technologies and strict environmental management measures to reduce the discharge of pollutants. The government should also formulate strict laws and regulations to regulate water pollution and ensure the quality of river water.Secondly, we should combat erosion and protect the riverbank. Erosion caused by river flow and humanactivities has seriously damaged the riverbank, which not only affects the ecological balance but also poses a threatto people's lives and property. Therefore, we should take measures to restore the riverbank, such as planting trees and grass, building retaining walls, and strengtheningriver bank protection facilities.Thirdly, we should promote ecological restoration and protection. The Yangtze River ecosystem is rich in biodiversity and plays an important role in maintaining the balance of the natural environment. We should actively promote ecological restoration projects, such as wetland protection, fishery resource conservation, and water ecological restoration, to protect the ecological environment of the Yangtze River. In addition, we should also raise public awareness of environmental protection and encourage people toparticipate in river protection activities. The government and media should strengthen environmental education and publicity, making people understand the importance of protecting the Yangtze River and their responsibilities and obligations. In conclusion, protecting the Yangtze River is everyone's responsibility. Only by taking joint efforts canwe safeguard the ecological environment of the YangtzeRiver and ensure the sustainable development of our country. Let us work together to protect the Yangtze River and build a beautiful and harmonious ecological environment.**保护长江:我们共同的责任**长江,作为中国最长的河流,也是世界上最重要的水道之一,在我国经济、文化和生态发展中扮演着举足轻重的角色。
保护长江河豚的英语作文

保护长江河豚的中英文对照作文英文:Do you know finless porpoise? The Yangtze finless porpoise is the only freshwater finless in the world. Compared with the ancient Baiji, the finless porpoise has a relatively high ability to adapt to the environment. The finless porpoise is smart and intelligent. Its brain is as developed as that of dolphins. Its intelligence level is similar to that of terrestrial gorillas. Like humans, the finless porpoise is a viviparous mammal breathing with lungs. Its personality is lively and lovely. It does not rely on its eyes to identify the direction and object image in the water, but on its developed echolocation system. Its round forehead is the key part of the accurate and complex echolocation system. How many finless porpoises are there? At present, there are only 1200-1500 finless porpoises in the Yangtze River, and the number is decreasing by 5% - 10% every year, which is less than our national treasure giant panda. The number of abnormal deaths of finless porpoise is far higher than that of all endangered wild animals in China. It is a wild animal that has seen a lot of decline in population in China, the fastest decline rate, the habitat environment is still deteriorating, and the survival status is the most endangered. It should be protected by the state. Protecting the finless porpoise is to protect the biodiversity of the Yangtze River and the mother river on which one-third of the Chinese people live. Protecting the finless porpoise is to protect ourselves!Threats to finless porpoisesFirst of all, cool fishing often kills finless porpoises by mistake, and leads to a lack of food for finless porpoises.Secondly, the gradual deterioration of water quality in the main stream of the Yangtze River, Dongting Lake and Poyang Lake poses a serious threat to finless porpoise and fish resources. In addition, the busy water traffic threatens the safety of finless porpoises. The underwater motor sound of ships affects the accuracy of the ultrasonic positioning of finless porpoises. Many finless porpoises mistook the motor sound wave for their companions and were killed or injured by the propeller. The busy shipping also makes the living space of finless porpoise smaller and smaller. Even in the area where Dongting Lake and Poyang Lake enter the Yangtze River, the high-density ships interrupt the gene exchange of finless porpoise population. The increasingly serious and disordered sand and stone logging has more and more adverse effects on finless porpoises. What can we do?Riverside residents, you can:1. Do not use the methods of enchanting array, electric fishing, trawling, rolling hook, etc. to avoid injuring finless porpoises by mistake;2. Avoid the waters where the finless porpoises are frequent when fishing;3. If the finless porpoise is injured, stranded or dead, actively rescue it and timely report it to the local fishery administration, reserve and other relevant departments.Ordinary citizens, you can also:1 refuse to eat rare and wild fish;2 reduce the discharge of domestic sewage, minimize the use of washing supplies and protect the water environment;3 refuse to take high-speed passenger ships;4. Publicize the urgency of finless porpoise protection through the Internet and other channels, and support the finless porpoise to be upgraded to national first-class protected animals;Let's take action and call on our relatives, friends, neighbors and classmates to join hands and do our little for the protection of wild animals!中文:你认识江豚吗?长江江豚是全球唯一的淡水江豚,与古老的白暨豚相比,江豚适应环境的能力相对较高。

英语作文保护长江

Title: Safeguarding the Mighty Yangtze River The Yangtze River, often referred to as the "Mother River" of China, is a vital lifeline that flows through the heart of the country, nurturing millions and supporting a rich ecosystem. However, in recent years, the once-mighty river has been facing unprecedented challenges, threatening its ecological balance and the well-being of those who depend on it. It is imperative that we take action to protect the Yangtze River, ensuring its sustainability for future generations. The primary cause of the Yangtze River's decline is unchecked pollution. Industrial and agricultural runoff, as well as untreated sewage, have polluted the river's waters, causing significant damage to aquatic life and water quality. This pollution not only affects the river's ecosystem but also poses a threat to human health, as many rely on the river for drinking water and agricultural irrigation. To address this issue, stringent pollution control measures must be implemented. Factories and farms must be required to adhere to strict emission standards, and sewagetreatment facilities must be upgraded to handle the increasing waste. Additionally, we must promote sustainable agricultural practices that reduce runoff and protect soil health.Another critical aspect of protecting the Yangtze River is conserving its biodiversity. The river is home to a vast array of fish species and other aquatic life, many of which are endangered. To conserve this biodiversity, we must implement fishing restrictions and create protected areas where fishing is prohibited. We must also raise awareness about the importance of biodiversity and encourage people to respect and protect the river's ecological system.Furthermore, we must prioritize river restoration projects. These projects aim to reverse the damage caused by pollution and other anthropogenic activities, restoring the river's ecological health. This includes replanting riparian zones, improving water quality, and restoring damaged habitats. By investing in these restoration projects, we can ensure that the Yangtze River remains a vibrant and sustainable ecosystem. In conclusion, safeguarding the Yangtze River iscrucial for the future of China and its people. By implementing pollution control measures, conserving biodiversity, and prioritizing river restoration projects, we can ensure that this vital resource remains healthy and vibrant for generations to come. It is only throughcollective effort and dedication that we can safeguard the mighty Yangtze River and preserve its role as the lifeblood of China.**保护长江:责任与行动**长江,这条被誉为中国的“母亲河”,穿越国家的心脏地带,养育了数以百万计的人民,并维系着一个丰富的生态系统。

Declaration on Protection of China Yangtze Finless Porpoise To Guard Hunan “Panda”-----a New Name Card of YueyangThere are Black Finless Porpoises in Yangtze River ,in Dongting Lake and in Yueyang, which is a blessing for Yueyang ,Hunan , China ,and above all, for all human beings! The Yangtze River, once the home of two unique rare species of river dolphins ---white porpoises and black finless porpoises ----is not the home for them any longer, because of the drop of environmental quality ,food shortage and the interference of human life and production. White porpoises, which were once honored as the " Goddess of the Yangtze River” , have been declared functionally extinct and we have lost the honor for possessing this precious species !The Yangtze Black Finless Porpoise-----the world's only freshwater dolphin with a lovely round head , a always smiling mouth and lively disposition, has lived on the earth for 25,000,000 years. It is the flagship species of aquatic biota and symbol of the health index of freshwater ecosystem. It is the second class national protected animal, whose number is even less than the number of giant pandas.Yangtze Black Finless Porpoises are now facing huge threats ----electric fishing, baffling fishing, detonator bombing and other destructive ways of fishing----- and all these can cause food shortage, injury and even death of the black finless porpoise. Besides ,the deterioration of water quality in the Yangtze River , Dongting Lake and Poyang Lake, high density of vessel interruption and random sand extraction have greatly threatened the finless porpoise’s natural habitat and feeding channels and will finally threaten the safety and survival of the finless porpoise. As a result , Yangtze Black Finless Porpoises are reduced year by year. At present, only 120 head of finless porpoises are living in Dongting Lake . Wang Ding ,a famous dolphin expert in the Chinese Academy of Sciences , is very much worried about the present situation: if the situation remains the same, within 10 years, Yangtze Black Finless Porpoises will extinct forever.According to the standards of IUCN Red List of endangered species ( IUCN ), the Yangtze Black Finless Porpoise has been in the phase of " being very dangerous"!.If the Yangtze Black Finless Porpoise, which is at the top of the freshwater food chain, should extinct, many aquatic organisms would follow suit and the Yangtze River Ecosystem would suffer a lot. Therefore, to protect Yangtze Black Finless Porpoises is ,in fact, to protect the Yangtze biological diversity and the mother river for the 1/3 Chinese people!.In order to quickly set off a porpoise protection campaign , making Yangtze Black Finless Porpoises truly become “Yueyang Panda"----a brand new name card of Yueyang, Hunan Daily Yueyang Branch hereby solemnly invites reporters and celebrities from the educational, cultural, intellectual, scientific communities and as well as 10 fishermen to found" the Association of Yangtze Finless Porpoise Conservation "; to set up a Dongting Lake Patrol to guard the waters of the finless porpoise ; to set up volunteer organizations to preach on the porpoise conservation to students, villagers and deep lake water fishermen; to appeal to the news media along the middle-lower reaches of the Yangtze River for a joint interview to publicize the importance of porpoise conservation; to establish the finless porpoise conservation station and volunteer stations as soon as possible to carry out annual routine observation and investigation; to give timely rescue to the injured porpoises etc. Here, to all people, we anxiously make an urgent appeal : the Chinese government at all levels, the environmental protection departments and non-governmental organizations should increase the publicity of the finless porpoise protection to arouse the public awareness of protecting the finless porpoise ; to promote Yangtze Black Finless Porpoises to the first class national protected animal as soon as possible; to establish Hunan ( Yueyang) Yangtze Black Finless Porpoise Conservation Area; to explore the possibility of changing the residence area of the finless porpoise; to improve the fisheries management and the system of supervision; to put an end resolutely to electric fishing, baffling fishing, detonator bombing and other destructive ways of fishing; to contain the activities of random sand extraction and polluting our "Mother River" and water ecological environment ; to further improve ashore programme for fishermen; to improve the livelihood of the people; to maintain social stability and harmony; to make an efficient management plan; to build a porpoise rescue mechanism and to encourage fishermen to provide timely information about injuries of the porpoises. Scientists have the responsibility to expand porpoise conservation research and to provide technical guidance to promote grass-root’s porpoise protection ability. At the same time, fishermen should abandon illegal means of hitting the finless porpoise, should avoid frequent fishing activities in the waters of the finless porpoise and give timely rescue to injured porpoises. People should not eat rare, wild fish and refuse to ride on the high-speed passenger ship on the waters of Yangtze Black Finless Porpoises. Sewage emissions should be reduced as soon as possible. The publicity of the urgency of the protection of finless porpoise should be made through the network channels. Everybody should act as a " porpoise guard" to take part in the volunteering activities to protect the finless porpoises! We have committed a crime to harm the white dolphins!Shall we commit the same crime again to Yangtze Black Finless Porpoises?!Should Yangtze Black Finless Porpoises extinct , surely, we will be the sinners! We sincerely hope that all people, who have conscience and who are willing to shoulder the responsibility to protect the finless porpoises and who have a loving heart, unite together to pay more attention to the environmental protection, to throw themselves into loving care for the fate of Yangtze Black Finless Porpoises ,and to abandon all illegal fishing ways.
