五年级下册英语第二单元作文不少于五句话

五年级下册英语第二单元作文不少于五句话

五年级下册英语第二单元作文不少于五句话全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Hi there! My name is Emma and I'm in the 5th grade. For our second unit in English class this semester, we had to write an essay about our favorite holiday. I decided to write about Christmas because it's my absolute favorite time of the year!Christmas is the best holiday ever in my opinion. I love everything about it - the decorations, the music, the cheerful atmosphere, and of course, the presents! Every year, my family goes all out decorating our house for Christmas. We put up strings of lights all around the outside of the house and hang wreaths on the doors. Inside, we have a huge Christmas tree that we all decorate together. I love hanging up all the ornaments and stringing the popcorn garlands. My favorite ornament is a little ceramic Santa that I made in preschool. It's not the fanciest one, but it's special because I made it myself.Another thing I love about Christmas is all the delicious food! My mom makes the most amazing Christmas cookies - sugar cookies with sprinkles, gingerbread men, peanut butterblossoms, you name it. We spend a whole day before Christmas baking dozens and dozens of cookies. Then on Christmas Eve, we leave out a plate of cookies for Santa along with a glass of milk. Christmas morning is so exciting to see if Santa ate the cookies! My favorite part is Christmas dinner though. We have a huge turkey with all the trimmings - stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, the works! I stuff myself so full but it's totally worth it.Speaking of Christmas morning, that's probably the most exciting part of the whole holiday! I can hardly sleep on Christmas Eve because I'm so eager to see what Santa brought. My brother and I usually end up waking our parents at the crack of dawn to start opening presents. I rush downstairs to see the tons of presents under the tree, all wrapped up in shiny paper and bows. I sort through them all quickly to find the ones with my name on them. Then we take turns opening gifts one by one, saving the biggest for last. I always get so many cool toys and games and books. Last year, I got my very first chapter book series - the Harry Potter books! I spent the whole break reading them. After we open all the presents from Santa, we get ready to go to my grandparents' house for our family Christmascelebration. I love seeing my cousins and extended family. We spend the whole day eating way too much food, playing games, and just enjoying each other's company. At the end of the night, we're absolutely exhausted butso happy from all the fun. I wish every day could be like Christmas! While I love getting presents, my favorite part of Christmas is the general feeling of joy and happiness in the air. Everyone seems a little kinder, the world seems a little brighter, and there's just a warm, fuzzy feeling of cheer. People are nicer to each other and think of others more often. Schools and charities collect toys and clothes for those in need. My family adopts a child to buy Christmas gifts for every year. I think it's important to remember those less fortunate and do what we can to spread some Christmas joy. That's what it's really all about in my opinion - being with loved ones, making memories, and bringing happiness to others. I can't wait for next Christmas!篇2My Favorite Unit in English Class This YearUnit 2 in our English textbook for the second semester was totally my favorite! I loved learning about holidays andcelebrations around the world. It was so much fun and I learned a ton of cool new things.First off, we learned all about Chinese New Year which is a huge celebration in China and some other Asian countries. I thought it was really neat how the different years are named after animals like the Year of the Rat or the Year of the Ox. My zodiac sign is the Year of the Monkey which I think is awesome because monkeys are so silly and fun. For Chinese New Year, families get together and have huge feasts with amazing food like dumplings and noodles. They also give out red envelopes with money inside as gifts, especially to kids. How cool is that? Getting money just for the new year! I would love to celebrate Chinese New Year one day.Another holiday we learned about was Diwali, the Festival of Lights that is celebrated in India and by Indian people all over the world. During Diwali, families decorate their homes with beautiful oil lamps and candles. They also do special pujas which are prayer ceremonies to honor the goddess Lakshmi who represents wealth and prosperity. One of the best parts of Diwali is all the delicious sweets and treats like jalebi and barfi that people make and share. I definitely have a sweet tooth so I know I would go crazy for all those desserts during Diwali! The colorfullights and fireworks displays during the festival look incredibly beautiful too. Then we studied Mexico's Day of the Dead or Dia de los Muertos. This holiday celebrates and honors deceased loved ones instead of being sad about their passing. The decorations for Day of the Dead are just amazing with bright colors, skeleton figures called calacas, and intricate designs using marigold flowers. One tradition is making altars with the favorite foods, drinks, and possessions of those who have died to welcome their spirits back for the celebration. I think that is such a neat tradition to keep their memories alive. I would put lots of candy and comic books on an altar for my grandpa if I celebrated Day of the Dead!We also read about the Spring Festival of Holi that takes place in India and Nepal. It celebrates the arrival of spring, good overcoming evil, and the blossoming of love. The coolest part is the tradition of throwing bright colored powders and having huge powder fights and celebrations with water guns and water balloons! Just imagining a big colorful cloud of powder being thrown everywhere makes me so happy and excited. What kid wouldn't love basically having one massive color war as a holiday? Holi looks like one of the most fun festivals ever.Learning about all these incredible holidays from different cultures around the world was seriously the highlight of English class for me. I loved reading the stories, learning the traditions, and trying some of the holiday foods we made in class. My parents always encouraged me to keep an open mind and be curious about other cultures, and this unit really sparked my interest in celebration practices beyond just the ones I'm familiar with. It made me want to travel the world someday and experience these vibrant festivals for myself. I'll never forget the sense of amazement and discovery I felt during this unit. It opened my eyes to just how diverse and fascinating all the cultures of the world truly are.篇3My Favorite SportHey guys! I'm going to tell you all about my favorite sport - basketball! Basketball is the coolest game ever. It's way better than boring sports like golf or tennis where you just stand around and hit a ball. In basketball, you get to run around, jump up high, and slam dunk the ball through the hoop! It's so much fun and exciting.I started playing basketball when I was in 3rd grade. At first, I wasn't very good. I could barely dribble the ball without it going out of control. And my shooting? Forget about it! The ball would go everywhere except through the hoop. But I kept practicing and practicing at recess and after school. Little by little, I got better and better. Now I'm one of the star players on my school's team! I can dribble behind my back, do fancy crossover moves, and nail three-pointers from downtown. My favorite thing is driving hard to the basket and throwing down monster dunks. When I slam it home, everybody goes wild cheering. It feels awesome! The best part about basketball is being part of a team though. We're like a family out there on the court, passing the ball around and setting picks for each other. Win or lose, we always have each other's backs. My teammates are my best friends in the whole world.I'll never forget the city championship game last year. It was tied up with only seconds left on the clock. I got the ball, drove past my defender, took off from the free throw line, and jammed it in as the buzzer went off! Everybody rushed the court and we celebrated by doing a big team dogpile. That championship trophy looks so sweet sitting in the case at school.Basketball has taught me so many important lessons too.I've learned about hard work, determination, teamwork, and never giving up. Those skills will help me way beyond the court when I'm an adult. I'm already dreaming of playing in college and maybe even going pro one day! For now though, I'm just concentrating on having as much fun as possible with this amazing game. Who's ready to hoop it up?篇4My Summer Vacation Adventures!Wow, where do I even begin? This summer was the most fun and exciting time ever! I had so many awesome adventures that I can't wait to tell you all about them. Let me start from the very beginning...It was the last day of school, and I was super pumped for summer break to start. No more homework or waking up early - just days and days of fun in the sun! My parents had promised to take me and my little brother on a big family trip, but they wouldn't tell us where we were going. I guessed everywhere from Disney World to Hawaii! Finally, after what felt like forever, the last bell rang and we were free for summer! In the car on the way home, my momspilled the beans - we were going camping at the huge national park a few hours away from our town. I wasn't sure how to feel at first. Camping doesn't seem as exciting as a theme park or the beach. But my dad promised we'd have a total blast.A few days later, we loaded up the car with ALL our camping gear - tents, sleeping bags, a camping stove, you name it. We were ready for an adventure in the great outdoors! The drive took forever, and my brother and I must have asked "Are we there yet?" a million times. But finally we made it to the national park and found our camping spot amongst the tall trees and peaceful stream.Setting up our campsite was hard work, but luckily my dad is like a camping master so he knew exactly what to do. Once our tents were all set up, we got started on the fun stuff - exploring! We went on a mega long hike through the woods, climbing over fallen trees and splashing in creeks. I had never seen nature that beautiful and untouched before. The trees seemed to stretch on forever, and the animals were just roaming around freely. A couple of deer even came super close to us!That night, we made s'mores around the campfire and my dad told us spooky stories that had us all huddled together. I'll admit, I was a little scared to go to sleep in just a tent out there inthe wilderness. What if a bear came into our campsite?! But I was just being a scaredy-cat - the night was peaceful and I slept like a log after being so active.Over the next few days, we stayed just as crazy busy. We went on more hikes, saw tons of cool birds and little critters, went swimming in a freezing cold river, and made yummy camping foods like hot dogs and campfire pies. I even learned how to put up a tent and build a fire all by myself! I felt like a real outdoorswoman.Too soon, it was our last day at the campsite. I was actually kind of sad to be going home - I had fallen in love with being out in nature and doing all the camping activities. As we took down our tents and packed up our gear, I made my parents promise we could go camping again very soon. Maybe next time we could go somewhere even more adventurous! The drive home felt twice as long since I didn't want our trip to end. But finally we made it back to our house, and I couldn't wait to tell all my friends about the amazing time I had camping and exploring the national park. Vacations at home are nice, but nothing beats getting out and having an real adventure!I have a feeling that when I look back on my childhood one day, this camping trip will stick out as one of the most fun, mem篇5Unit 2 - My Favorite SportHey there! I'm gonna tell you all about my favorite sport - basketball! It's like, the coolest game ever. You get to run around, shoot a ball, and score points. What's not to love?Basketball is a team sport, which means you play with four other people on your side. There's the point guard who dribbles the ball up the court. The shooting guard tries to score from the outside. The small forward is kind of like a shooting guard but a little bigger. The power forward is one of the biggest players and they play close to the basket. And then there's the center, who is usually the tallest player on the team. Their job is to grab rebounds and score down low.On offense, the point guard will bring the ball up the court and everybody moves around trying to get open for a pass. If someone is open, they might catch and shoot. Or they might drive to the basket and try to score a layup. There's lots of dribbling, passing, cutting, and shooting happening. It's super fun to watch! On defense, you have to try and stop the other team from scoring. You get in a stance, move your feet, and put your handsup to contest shots. If the other team misses, you have to box out and get the rebound. Rebounding is really important because it gives you another chance to score on offense after you get the ball.My favorite part is shooting the ball. There's nothing better than catching, squaring up, and drilling a three-pointer to hear that sweet "swish" sound as it goes through the net. Hitting that game-winning buzzer beater would be like, the ultimate dream!I've been playing basketball since I was a little kid. My parents put a hoop up in our driveway and I spent hours out there practicing my shot. I wasn't very good at first but I just kept working at it. Now I start for my school team and we're having a great season so far.Basketball has taught me so many good lessons too. You have to work together as a team to be successful. You can't do it all alone out there. It's taught me about leadership, sportsmanship, discipline, and perseverance. Even if you're losing, you have to keep fighting until the final buzzer sounds. Some of my biggest basketball heroes are Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Steph Curry. The way they can take over a game is unreal. Michael Jordan was so clutch and hit so many amazing buzzer beaters. LeBron is an incredibly well-roundedplayer who can really do it all. And Steph Curry is revolutionary with his crazy shooting ability. I try to model my game after them. That's why I love basketball so much. It's a fast-paced,high-scoring, action-packed game. There's constant movement, athleticism, and excitement happening. Every possession matters and leads can swing back and forth. The atmosphere in a big game is absolutely electric. When I'm old enough, I hope I can make my high school team. And who knows, maybe I can play in college too if I keep working hard! Wouldn't it be a dream to make it all the way to the NBA? That's probably a longshot, but I'm gonna keep putting in that work and developing my skills. For now though, I'm just focused on helping my team make a run in our upcoming playoffs. We've got a great group of guys and I think we have a real chance at winning it all this year. Cutting down those nets would be an amazing feeling! So that's my take on my favorite sport of basketball. Whether you're a player or a fan, it's an incredibly fun game to be a part of. That rush of hitting a big shot or getting an important win is like no other feeling in the world.Ball is life!篇6Unit 2 was all about talking about daily routines and activities. At first, it felt a little weird learning about that stuff in English class. I was like "Duh, I already know how to talk about my daily routine in Chinese!" But then I realized how cool it is that I can talk about my day in a whole different language now!The vocab words were kind of fun too. I learned words like "wake up", "get dressed", "have breakfast" and all sorts of stuff like that. Some of them were pretty similar to the Chinese words, but some were really different which made it interesting. Like who would have thought the word for "take a shower" in English is so weird - "shower"? That just sounds funny! My favorite part was when we did roleplays pretending to interview each other about our daily schedules. Me and my friend Xiaoming got to be the TV hosts and "interview" our classmates about what they do each day. Xiaoming was cracking all these silly jokes while I was trying to ask the questions properly. We were both laughing so hard! Our English teacher said we did a great job though. The hardest part was probably writing out our own daily routines from start to finish. I had to use words like "first", "then","after that" and "finally" to connect all the different things I do each day. It felt like a lot to remember at first. But Ms. Li showed us some tricks for practicing the sequence and it got easier.Overall, I give Unit 2 two thumbs up! Learning about daily routines was much more fun than I expected. I feel like I can actually chat a little about my day now if I ever met an English speaker. Who knows, maybe I'll become an amazing English teacher someday just like Ms. Li! Gotta start somewhere, right?。
