一、教材内容分析
本节课是人教版教材Go For It八年级Unit 4 Section A 的第一课时，是一节听说课，主要学习形容词副词的最高级，通过听说读写能力的训练，同学们能对几个电影院进行比较，得出哪个是最好的电影院，进而延伸到与自己生活息息相关的一些事情，通过对形容词最高级的学习，同学们能掌握文中的重点短语、句子，并通过小组调查、讨论、合作活动，让学生初步运用目标语言谈论班上同学们的“最”。
二、学生特征分析
学生英语基础普遍较差，接受能力较弱，幸运的是上一单元就已经接触了形容词、副词的比较级，对最高级老师也进行了渗透，有一小部分同学能用形容词、副词的比较级正确描述人或事物，这样他们学习第四单元也算有了一定的语言基础，但是，学生的读音，语调，停顿问题都很大，并且读起句子来极不流畅，就连简单的“movie theater”也得读好几遍才能读对，所以本课我扩充的知识不是很多，以注重基础、表面的东西为出发点，他们的基础能力需慢慢提高。
