Disregarding them may lead to damage to health andproperty.The rotary vane pumps must be operated by personnel who can detect impending dangersand take action to prevent them from materialising.The manufacturer or authorized authorised workshops will only service or maintain the rotaryvane pump if it is accompanied by a fully completed damage report. Precise information a-bout the contamination (also negative information if necessary) and thorough cleaning of therotary vane pump are legally binding parts of the contract.Contaminated rotary vane pumps and their individual parts must be disposed of in accor-dance with the legal regulations.The local regulations apply in foreign countries.2.2 ElectricityRotary vane pumps of operation mode S1 are supplied. Please note that the testing must berepeated in accordance with DIN EN 0105, DIN EN 0702 and BGV A 2 in case of portabledevices of operation mode S1. The local regulations apply in foreign countries.Please note the following when connecting to the electrical power supply system:• The electrical power supply system must have a protective connector according to DINVDE 0100-410 (IEC 60364-4-41).• The protective connector must not have any breaks.• The connecting cable must not be damaged.Systems2.3 MechanicalImproper use can lead to injuries or material damage. Observe the following instructions:• Only operate the rotary vane pumps with the specified flange-mounting components.• Hazardous substances must be separated out as far as this is technically possible beforethey reach the pump.• External mechanical stresses and vibrations must not be transmitted to the pump. Onlyuse flexible vacuum hoses for connecting Rotary Vane Pumps.• The pump must not be used to suck up fluids. Lay the exhaust pipe so that it slopesdownwards, so allowing condensate to flow out of the pump. Collect the condensate anddispose of it in an environmentally compatible manner.• Maintain a space of least 20 cm between the pump and adjacent parts in order to enablethe pump to cool.CAUTION !Solid particles in the pumping medium impair the pumping action and can lead todamage. Prevent solid particles penetrating into the pump!302316 7Basic Safety InstructionsSubstances2.4 HazardousCAUTION !The operating company bears the responsibility for the use of the rotary vane pump.Hazardous substances in the gases to be pumped can cause personal injuries and property damage. Pay attention to the warning notices for handling hazardous substances.The local regulations apply in foreign countries.Combustible GasesExamine before switching on whether that can form gas combustible gas/air mixtures which can be promoted! Consider the regulations of the guideline 1999/92/EC.It is not permitted to pump gases that are combustible or prone to explosion.Aggressive gasesThe rotary vane pumps is not certified according to ATEX guidelines 94/9/EC.Poisonous gasesUse a separator when pumping poisonous or harmful gases. Prevent such substances from leaking out of the appliance or pump. Treat these substances according to the applicableenvironmental protection regulations.Test the strength and leak-tightness of the connecting lines and the connected apparatus.Prevent environmental poisons, e.g. mercury, getting into the rotary vane pumps.Fulfil the requirements, for example:• German Hazardous Substances Regulation (GefStoffV) of 23. December 2004• Regulations 2006/121/EC (classification, packaging and identification of hazardous sub-stances),• Manufacturer's safety data sheets on hazardous substances.Temperatures2.5 HighThe rotary vane pump may heat up as a result of the temperature of the gas being pumpedand through intrinsic heating. The temperature of the rotary vane pump heads can reach80 °C during operation.Prevent the following maximum permissible temperatures from being exceeded.• + 40 °C for the environment, and• + 20 °C for the gas to be pumped.The motor is protected against overload by a suitable protective device.8 302316Description3 Description3.1 DesignThe ILMVAC P - Z series vacuum pumps are oil-sealed, two-stage rotary vane vacuumpumps.The drive motor is directly flange-mounted onto the motor cover of the pump holder.The pump shaft and the motor shaft are connected to each other by an elastic coupling.The bearings of the interior pump body are force-fed lubricated sliding bearings.1 Rotary knob for setting the gas ballast valve(direction of rotation: to the left = open, to the right = closed)2 Screw-plug for oil filling3 Type plate4 Oil inspection glass5 Oil drain screw-plug6 On / Off switch7 Drive motor8 Suction port9 Exhaust portFig. 1 Rotary Vane Pump P 23 Z3.1.1 Advantages• extremely compact construction and consequently small dimensions and low weight• vacuum pump is sealed after switching• quite running with low intake pressures• a gas ballast valve enables condensing vapours to be pumped out, it achieves a high tolerance ofwater vapour pressure• Suction and exhaust ports are designed with small flanges according to pneurop standard• The oil level can be checked on the oil level gauge• Important parts are easy to service and replace• The powerful oil circuit strengthens the purging and cleans the pump of particles of dirt and con-densates.• The rotary vanes are made of a special plastic. They are not affected by corrosion and not dam-aged by dirt particles and have very good sliding properties.• All elastomer seals are made of Viton.302316 9Description3.2 Area of ApplicationThe range of application of our oil-sealed rotary vane pumps encompasses the entire field of vacuum technology, both for use in the laboratory and in industry.The task is to create end pressures (partial) down to around 10 -4 mbar• as a single pump• as a fore-pump for oil diffusion pumps or as turbo-molecular pumps.The rotary vane pump can pump out biological, toxic and radioactive gases and vapours,and evacuate containers or vacuum installations up into the high vacuum range.Description The pump body is subdivided into several chambers by the eccentrically arranged rotorwhich has two radically sliding vanes. The volume of each chamber changes cyclically as the rotor turns. This sucks the gas into the intake opening. The gas flows through the dirt filter,which is connected to the centring ring, into the pump body. After the intake opening is clo-sed by the vane, the gas is transported onwards and compressed.A dosed quantity of air (gas ballast) can be let into the pump body during the compression byopening the gas ballast valve. This prevents vapours condensing in the vacuum pump.The maximum tolerance of water vapour pressure is 40 mbar.Oil is injected into the pump body for sealing and lubrication. An oil pump pumps oil out ofthe oil reservoir into a pressure oil lubrication system that feeds all the bearings. The low-mounted oil suction pipe achieves a large usable oil reserve.At the outlet valve, the compressed gas is pumped out of the pump body through the ex-haust port. The oil carried along with the gas is separated out by a filter (accessory).3.3.2 Vacuum-tightness when switching off the suction port valveVacuum-tightness when the pump is switched off is achieved by means of the hydraulicallyactuated suction port valve (HV-valve).The hydraulically actuated suction port valve closes the suction port vacuum-tight when theunit is shut down. This prevents venting and oil flowing back into a connected receptacle.1 Hydraulic piston2 Valve disk3 Pull-back spring4 Suction opening5 Venting holeFig. 3 Suction port valve (HV-valve)Descriptionballast3.3.3 GasCAUTION !Condensable vapours may only be extracted when the gas ballast valve is open,when the vacuum pump is at operating temperature and within the limits of the ma-ximum tolerance of water vapour pressure!Condensation occurs if the maximum water vapour pressure tolerance of 60 mbar isexceeded.When pumping condensable vapours, they may be compressed during the compressionphase above the saturated vapour pressure and condense.This causes considerable deterioration in the vacuum pump’s performance:• ultimate pressure is not achieved• corrosion occurs• heavy oil contamination and formation of emulsions.When the gas ballast valve opens (to the left), air flows into the compression space. 所谓单级液环泵是指只有一个叶轮,它在较高真空度下抽速就急剧下降, 当入口压力在5000Pa时,实际抽速为名义抽速的50%,而且工作状态亦不稳 定。
美国ELIVAC生产的ELRC双极液环真空泵见图2所示,它是将两个单级泵 串联起来,而固定在同一根轴上,双级液环泵主要特点是在较高真空度下,仍 然有较大抽速,当入口压力在5000Pa时,实际抽速为名义抽速的85%,工作 状况十分稳定。

3.罗茨泵
罗茨泵的工作原理见图5所示。由于一对8字型 转子的不断旋转,被抽气体从 进气口吸入到转子与泵腔之间的空间,再从排气口排出。而普通的罗茨泵不能直排 大气,需要与前级泵(旋片泵、滑阀泵、水环泵、干式真空泵)串联构成机组。

4.干式螺杆真空泵
螺杆真空泵是20世纪90年代初出现的一种理想泵种,它的工作原理 见图7 所示,当两个平行的经过精密加工的螺杆作相对旋转时,于是螺杆将被抽气体 从进气口吸入并经压缩从排气口排出。

一、何为真空
• “真空”是指低于一个大气压力的稀薄气体的空间狀态。在海平面上, 大气产生的压力为101325Pa,约100KPa,工程中称为一个标准大气压。 而珠峰顶处的气压为32KPa,仅为海平面的三分之一左右。

干式螺杆真空泵的特点: ·由于采用变螺距结构,比等螺距螺杆可节省30%能耗,排气温度较低; • 被抽气体在泵腔内路程短并迅速排出; • 被抽气体在泵腔内很少受到搅动; • 微小颗粒不容易堆积; • 可以夹带液体、可凝物和微小颗粒; • 低振动和低噪声; • 泵腔内的剩余物容易被清除; 表5 是目前能提供的KDP和SDV螺杆真空泵的系列型号

• 人们运用于科技手段,发明了各种真空泵去抽除密闭容器中的气体,以 获得“人造真空”,但是即使使用现代排气方法获得的最低压力,也只 能达到10-11 Pa,亦就是说不可能达到絕对真空。

二、真空区域的划分

为了减少滑阀不平衡惯性力所引起的振动,对于单缸滑阀泵需要在驱动轮对 面一侧加平衡轮,并在驱动轮上加不平衡质量进行平衡减振,然而这种固有的单 缸设计结构使滑阀产生的惯性力无法做到彻底平衡,因而泵的振动大、噪声大而 且必须固定在地基上 。

早期的螺杆是等螺距的,为了降低能耗、降低泵腔内的温度,最近又新开发了变螺距 的螺杆泵。其中一种螺杆是由二段螺距大小不等的螺杆拼作而成,另外一种就是螺距连 续变化的螺杆泵,螺杆是由一个整体材料加工制作而成,各种不同的螺杆见图8所示

四、美国ELIVAC真空泵的结构、性能和特点

表2 列出了ET三缸滑阀泵的系列型号和规格。虽然ET滑阀泵具有上述一系列优 点,但是这种三缸结构的滑阀泵结构比较复杂,对于材料和加工精度的要求都很高, 价格也比同类国产的H型滑阀泵要高出40%,况且上海ELIVAC目前生产只有ET-150和 ET-300两种规格,大型滑阀泵ET-500和ET-800则需要从美国进口。
