在本节课中，我注重激发学生的学习兴趣，使学生在情景中学习和运用语言，最后能用本节课所学的语言做事情，即调查同学的生日。
本节课的成功之处有以下几点：1、倡导自然、流畅的课堂教学过程在本节课上，通过重点把握复习、新知教学和拓展提高三个环节，面向全体学生，因材施教，关注学习过程。
通过唱歌进行复习导入，并采用一系列的活动，引导能力稍弱的学生加深对所学内容的理解，强化对月份类单词的认读，为后续学习奠定了基础；拓展提高环节又为学有余力的学生提出了更高的学习目标，即要求他们用所学英语描述自己的生日。
2、充分利用课堂上的有效资源，运用恰当的方式与方法，提高课堂的实效性。
就教学资源而言，本节课的教学内容没有多媒体课件。
但是我将教学前，教学中，教学后的一系列活动融为一体，同时注意发挥教师在朗读中的示范作用。
在教学过程中，教师要创造性地使用教材，积极收集课堂上有效的教学资源，并使之成为教学的契机。
本节课也有许多不足之处，需要在今后的教学中不断的改进与调整。
例如，在拓展环节中，调查内容的选择应充分发挥学生的能动性，给学生更多自主思维的空间。
