Where is it?W: No, that’s my grandmother’s house. She lives in Kentucky. We live in Boston, about two-and-a-half hours away by plane.M: Then, does she live with your uncle or aunt?W: No. Since her husband died, she has lived alone.M: Alone? But she is so old! Who takes care of her?W: She takes care of herself, though she is 81 this year and is beginning to slow down a little. She has a cleaning lady who comes for a few hours a week to clean house and help with the shopping.M: But isn’t she lonely without family?W: Of course not. She has lived in the same neighborhood since she was first married, so she knows all the neighbors, young and old, and she has lots of friends.M: Why doesn’t she live with you? Don’t you miss her?W: Well, actually, we talk to her on the phone every week and visit her at least once a year, but we are busy with our lives and so is she. We love to have her visit, but we all know that if she lived with us, we might not get along so well.Text 9W: And I realized we were completely lost, but at least we gotthere in the end.M: Funny you should say that because, er, a similar thing happened to me one time when I was abroad. We were actually doing a concert in this bar in Germany.W: Really?M: I was actually about to appear on stage, you know, with the band, and I just thought, “I’ll just go out for a little walk and get some fresh air,” ‘cause I had about a half an hour before we had to go on.W: Uh-huh.M: And I went outside, you know, had a look around, walked around for a bit…and then I decided to go bac k and, uh, I couldn’t find it! It was about two minutes before we were supposed to start.W: No, you’re joking!M: Yeah! I thought, “Ah! What am I gonna do?”W: Could you ask for directions?M: Well, I tried. I asked this old woman, but she didn’t speak En glish, and I don’t speak German…W: Don’t you? Oh, right.M: And then, I realized I couldn’t remember the name of the bar, or the street it was on or anything. So, you know, I was in the middle of a town I didn’t know, not knowing the language…and luckily, I saw someone wearing one of our T-shirts. He was obviously going to the concert, so I sort of followed him back to the bar.W: Wow, that was lucky! Thank goodness!M: And when I got there, the guys were like, “Where have you been? We thought you’d run out on us!” Anyway, we managed.Text 10M:Hello. I’m Callum Robertson, and this is London Life. In the program today, let me ask you a question first: What do you think would be the hardest job in Britain? A police officer? Perhaps a deep-sea fisherman? Well, no, according to recent research, being a London taxi driver takes that prize. It’s really a hard job, really difficult. One reason is the traffic. It’s getting worse and worse in London. For most of us, if we have to sit in a traffic jam for a few minutes, we get anxious. But imagine if you had to do that all day, every day as your job. What’s more, passengers get into the taxi and want to get from A to B as quickly as possible. They’re in a hurry, and that makes things worse for the drivers. To prepare for the test, would-be drivers have to remember ways and places of interest around Central London. This is an area which has about 25,000 streets. They need to be able to take passengers from A to B without having to look at a map and without having to ask for directions. It usually takes nearly three years to pass the test, so it is also found in the research that parts of the brains of taxi drivers are actually larger than those in the general population. It seems as if learning all the streets and ways makes a part of the brain grow. Well, anyway, this is a most tiring job. Next time you’re stuck in a traffic jam and feel mad, spare a thought for the taxi drivers, who have to spend most of their working life in them.答案BCABC BACAB ABCBC ACAAB高考英语听力原文及答案篇2第一节(共5小题)听下面5段对话。

2023新高考英语听力原文

Section APassage 1Good morning, everyone. I’m here today to talk to you about the importance of sleep. Sleep is essential for our physical and mental health. When we don’t get enough sleep, we can experience a range of problems, including fatigue, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. In the long term, sleep deprivation can increase our risk of developing serious health problems, such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. So, how much sleep do we need? Most adults need around 7-8 hours of sleep per night. However, some people may need more or less sleep. For example, children and teenagers typically need more sleep than adults. And people who are pregnant or have certain medical conditions may also need more sleep. There are a number of things we can do to improve our sleep. First, we need to establish a regular sleep schedule and stick to it as much as possible, even on weekends. We should also create a relaxing bedtime routine to help us wind down before bed. This could include taking a warm bath, reading a book, or listening to calming music. It’s also important to make sure our bedroom is dark, quiet, and cool. We should avoid using electronic devices in bed, as the light from these devices can interfere with sleep. And we should try to avoid caffeine and alcohol before bed, as these substances can also disrupt sleep. If you’re having trouble sleeping, there are a number of things you can do to try to improve your sleep. First, you should talk to your doctor to rule out any underlying medical conditions that may be causing your sleep problems. You may also want to try some relaxation techniques, such as yoga or meditation, to help you relax before bed. And if you’re still having trouble sleeping, you may want to talk to a sleep specialist.Passage 2The year is 2042. The world is a very different place than it was just a few decades ago. Climate change has ravaged the planet, causing widespread flooding, droughts, and wildfires. Many major cities have been abandoned, and millions of people have been displaced from their homes. In this new world, water is a precious commodity. Wars are fought over access to water, and people are willing to pay almost anything for a clean glass of water. In some places, water has become so scarce that people are forced to drink contaminated water, which can lead to serious health problems. The food supply has also been severely affected by climate change. Droughts have made it difficult to grow crops, and rising sea levels have inundated many coastal farmlands. As a result, food prices have skyrocketed, and many people are going hungry. In this new world, the rich and powerful have managed to adapt to the changing conditions. They live in gated communities with access to clean water, food, and security. The poor and vulnerable, however, have been left to fend for themselves. They are forced to live in slums, where they are exposed to disease, violence, and exploitation. The future of the world is uncertain. If we don’t take action to address climate change, the consequences will be devastating. We need to work together to create a more sustainable future, where everyone has access to clean water, food, and a safe place to live.Passage 3Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing the world around us. AI-powered machines are already being used in a wide variety of applications, from self-driving cars to medical diagnosis. And as AI technology continues to develop, we can expect to see even more amazing things in the years to come. One of the most exciting potential applications of AI is in the field of medicine. AI-powered machines are already being used to develop new drugs and treatments, and they are also being used to help doctors diagnose diseases earlier and more accurately. In the future, AI could be used to create personalized medicine plans that are tailored to each individual patient. This could lead to more effective treatments and better outcomes for patients.AI is also having a major impact on the way we work. AI-powered machines are already being used to automate many routine tasks, and they are also being used to help workers be more productive. In the future, AI could lead to the creation of new jobs that don’t even exist today.Of course, there are also some concerns about the potential risks of AI. Some people worry that AI could lead to job losses and social unrest. Others worry that AI could be used to develop autonomous weapons that could be used to wage war without human intervention. However, the potential benefits of AI far outweigh the risks. AI has the potential to solve some of the world’s most pressing problems, such as climate change and poverty. It is important to be aware of the potential risks of AI, but we should not let these risks prevent us from realizing the full potential of this technology.Section BConversation 1Man:Hi, I’m looking for a book on the history of China.Woman: Sure, we have a few books on that topic. We soon found out that we had a lot in common and quickly became close friends. We always had really good discussions about everything: politics, environment, literature, music, and even cooking. But we felt unhappy with each other a couple of times about the housework. Bill often asked me to be more tidy, while I thought life's too short to worry about things like that. When we graduated three years ago, we went our separate ways and since then our lives have been very different. I went back to my hometown and got a job as a production assistant for art exhibitions. I like my job because I'm helping young people to get involved in the arts. I'm not earning very much, but I get a lot of personal satisfaction from my job. Bill is earning a lot of money, but he doesn't see me very often now. When he comes down for the weekend we have laugh, but our lifestyles are so different now that we don't have very much to talk about.。

The quickest way to get around London is no doubt ‘the tube’, London’s way of saying the Underground train. The tube is made up of twelve lines, each bearing a name and a color on the tube map. For example, the Central Line is red. And as its name suggests, it runs from east to west, taking in central London. The Circle Line is yellow, and is the only line which runs in a complete circle. About 2.5 million people use the tube each day. If you want to travel fast around London, taking the tube will get you to wherever you want quicker than bus or taxi. Trains generally leave every 3 or 4 minutes, less frequently at weekends and late at night. There are maps at each station, as well as inside each train, to make sure that you can see where you are going and that you are on the right train. If you find yourself going in the wrong direction, simply get off at the next station and cross the platform to the other side. Every train will show its direction on the front of the train. So, it is a good idea to look at the train as it is coming into the station.参考答案:1-5 BACBC 6-10 ACBAC 11-15 AABCC 16-20 BAABC。
