Preparation
Preparation prior to the lesson is crucial for improving the effectiveness of teaching, thus neither teacher nor students must skip it. For preparation, it is recommended to use both English and Chinese so that the students can fully understand it.

Opening
Hello, everyone, are you ready for the new lesson?
I am sure you must be ready, right? Okay, here we go.
Warm-up: review “Numbers”
1.Counting together from 0 to 10.
2.Playing “passing the ball” while counting from 0 to 10.
a.The entire class form a circle facing each other;
b.Teacher passes a soft ball (or toy) to the first student while counting “zero”. The
first student must count “one” and pass the ball to the next student;
c.Game continues until 10 is reache
d.
3.Playing “which is a bigger number game?”
a.Dividing the class in 2 teams, each forming a line;
b.Teacher show 2 pictures on the ppt,the front students from each team must
quickly run to the board and stand before the bigger one。
c.Teacher show 2 numbers on the ppt, the front students from each team must
quickly shout the bigger number in English. When the numbers are equal they
must shout “Same”.
d.Winning team gets points.
Make sure everyone in the class feels comfortable with numbers.

Games
Play “guessing the price game”
1.Before the class, prepare 3 objects that you know the prices are below 10. Write down
their prices on 3 cards and show them. For example, “cup”/¥8, “pen”/¥2, “notebook”/¥3,.(Guide the children to guess the price)
2.And then, place the new 6 objects (key words) on a table or the floor.
3.Divide the class into 2 teams, each team will be asked to guess the price for the first
object, the team with the closest guess wins. Game continues till the last objects.
Role-playing game
This game requires some preparations. But the fun part is that, the teacher can make the preparation as part of the lesson.
▪Give each student 3 blank cards. Lead them to make a set of ¥5, ¥2 and ¥1 notes.
▪Divide the class into 2 teams again. Team members put their notes in one pool.
▪Each team is given a list of shopping items from the 6 objects. For example,
o Team A: Napkin, Eraser, Newspaper, Juice.
o Team B:Chopsticks,Eraser,Juice,Napkin
▪Team takes turn to play.
▪Each member of the team is tasked to buy one object from the other team. The student must
o Ask the price using the key structure;
o Prepare the right amount of money;
o Decide whether or not to buy it by using the key structure.
[Easter Egg] to surprise the class, the objects would be given as rewards to the best performers right before the class ends.
