在进行小学英语教学过程中，教师如果能够很好地引导学生进行想象，就能让学生在长期的写作练习过程中写出更加有血有肉的作文来，反之作文则会变得非常平淡，为此教师在实际上课过程中，可以采用下面的措施进行想象写作练习。
一、说关键词，想象事物细节
在上课过程中，教师要想让学生充分发挥想象力，提关键词是一个非常好的方式，所谓提关键词，就是在课堂上根据课文内容给学生提出一个关键词，然后让学生根据这个关键词进行想象，看看自己能够想到什么内容，由于关键词的限制力很小，因此学生们可以随意进行发挥想象，教师可以引导学生将想象的内容用英文写出来就能达到既定的效果。
比如在讲授“ｕｎｉｔ２ ｗｈａｔ ａ ｄａｙ”（译林版小学英语六年级上）时，教师给学生写出两个关键词，分别是“ｒａｉｎｙ”和“ｓｕｎｎｙ”，教师引导学生说：“下雨天和晴天这两个关键词大家能想到什么内容呢，请大家尽情发挥自己的想象力，用自己的语言将你能想到的内容描述出来。

比如在讲授课文“ｕｎｉｔ ３ Ｈｏｌｉｄａｙ ｆｕｎ”（译林版小学英语六年级上）的“ｃａｒｔｏｏｎ ｔｉｍｅ”环节时，教师让学生仔细观看第一张图片（ｉｔ ｉｓ ｔｉｍｅ ｆｏｒ ｄｉｎｎｅｒ．Ｂｏｄｄｙ ｃｏｍｅｓ ｈｏｍｅ ｌａｔｅ．），发挥自己想象写出图片中的内容，于是学生纷纷进行观看并想象，有的同学写道：“Ｔｈｅ ｌｉｔｔｌｅ ｍｏｕｓｅ ｗａｎｔ ｔｏ ｇｏ ｔｏ ｓｃｈｏｏｌ ａｆｔｅｒ ｂｒｅａｋｆａｓｔ．Ｈｅ ｓａｙ ｇｏｏｄｂｙｅ ｔｏ ｈｅｒ ｍｏｔｈｅｒ．”有的同学写道：“Ｔｈｅ ｍｏｔｈｅｒ ｌｅｔ ｔｈｅ ｌｉｔｔｌｅ ｍｏｕｓｅ ｔｏ ｈａｖｅ ｌｕｎｃｈ，ｔｈｅ ｌｉｔｔｌｅ ｄｏｎ’ｔ ｗａｎｔ ｄｏ ｄｏ ｂｅｃａｕｓｅ ｈｅ ｗｉｌｌ ｂｅ ｌａｔｅ ｆｏｒ ｓｃｈｏｏｌ．”有的同学写道：“Ｔｈｅ ｔｗｏ ｍｏｕｓｅ ａｒｅ ｂｒｏｔｈｅｒ．”大家在没有阅
读对话内容前对图片内容进行猜测，从猜测内容中我们不难看出，每个同学所说的内容都是不一样的，但都是仔细观察图片并做出想象后给出的答案，因此答案比较清晰，且内容非常有趣，达到了练习的目的。
这种教学方式，由于学生对图片内容的认识存在一定的差异，因此大家写出的内容都存在很大差异性，但学生在写作过程中充分发挥想象力，写出的内容也就更加具有趣味性。
总之在进行小学英语写作教学过程
中，想象非常重要性，学生如果能够养成良好的想象习惯，写出的作文才不至于过于枯燥，也只有养成良好的想象习惯，才能让自己的作文变得更加耐读，为此教师在实际教学过程中，应充分调动学生的想
象能力，采用看图、听音、读词的方式锻炼学生的想象力，引导学生更好地提升自己的写作能力。
