状语和状语从句一、什么是状语从句？She smiles sweetly.She looks extremely sweet.She smiles sweetly like a red rose.As a matter of fact,she smiles.状语就是一句话中修饰实意动词、形容词、副词和整个句子，状语除了名词不可以修饰其他都可以。

首先，状语从句的存在是为了作为修饰成分而出现，也就意味着想要理解状语从句就要从状语的修饰对象上入手。
状语的修饰对象可以是动词，形容词和副词，对于状语从句而言，修饰的对象一般是动词，如果动词正好就是句子的谓语，那么也可以理解为是在修饰整个句子，如果出现两个动词，状语从句应该是修饰哪一个动词，这时候就可以凭借就近修饰原则找到修饰的对象了，因此，状语从句有两大重要的原则：1.修饰谓语=修饰句子；2.就近修饰原则。
其次，状语从句与其他从句最大的不同就是状语从句分为各种类型——时间状语从句，让步状语从句，地点状语从句，原因状语从句，结果状语从句，条件状语从句，比较状语从句等。
由此可见，要想掌握状语从句，我们就要从各种类型入手来进行逐一分析。
1.when,while,before,after,as soon as,until,since等，引导时间状语从句。
例:The court cannot maintain its legitimacy as guardian of the rule of law when justices behave like politicians.2.because,as,since等引导原因状语从句。
例：Some individuals would therefore not have been caught,since no baited hooks would have been available to trap them.3.if,as long as等引导条件状语从句。
