他们经过几年的英语学习和积累，英语学习已经有了一定的基础，大部分学生养成了良好的英语学习习惯，但是课堂上也有一部分学生不是很喜欢上英语课，学习兴趣不是很高，同时，有些学生还是为学习而学习，谈不上兴趣问题；另一方面，学生有一定的分化，有些学生不敢举手回答问题，怕答错其他同学笑话，因此，课堂气氛较难调动起来。
三、教学目标1.语言能力目标（1）能熟练运用核心词汇oil, oil painting, powerful, ink, brush, paints, Chinese ink painting, artist.（2）能掌握本课时的一些日常活动用语：be going to，on the left/right, art museum.2.学习能力目标能够询问及表达是否喜欢某物及其原因；能与小组成员互相交流意见，并汇报讨论结果。
3.思维品质目标学会在课堂中和生活中多观察、多思考和多探索，并在课堂上表达观点和想法。
4.文化意识目标通过学习油画、水墨画的基本知识，培养学生对艺术的感知与兴趣。

教材分析
本节内容选自沪版英语教材六年级（下），本单元主要内容围绕“Art”展开，主要介绍了西方绘画简史，描写了曼哈顿最好的艺术长廊。
帮助学生了解更多有关美术的背景知识，分析中西方艺术史上各大流派的特点，指出其代表性的画家和作品，并对中西方绘画艺术进行比较。
最后要求学生为当地举办的一场别开生面的画展提出合理化建议。
首先，从视听入手，让学生整体感知课文内容。

于都后阶段是真实运用语篇的重要环节。
通过同学间的对话表演来训练他们的口语表达能力。
通过对后面的小故事使学生将所学的语言得到有效延伸。
根据课程标准对本节课的要求，针对小学生的心理特点和认知水平，结合教材，本着面向全体学生，基于学全面发展的原则，确定本节课的教学目标。

本节课利用学生们日常生活中的情节在课堂上展现出来但在最后一环节中的自我介绍中，如果再花多一点时间让学生去交际，面向全体，让更多的学生都有机会去表演，那也许会更好些。
