设计思路1. 教材开宗明义，在黄底灰边的方框里，用简短的文字，从顾宪成的对联谈起，教育学生要关心国家大事，并扼要阐述了读书剪报的作用——及时了解天下大事，提高文化素养，锻炼浏览和搜集信息的能力。
这段文字是本次主题综合性学习活动的总导言和“奠基石”，篇幅虽短，作用却大，不仅有助于学生积累中国传统文化知识，而且有利于调动学生读报和剪报的内驱力。
2. 为了能让学生进一步理解读报的益处，学习正确的读报方法，进一步增强学生读报的自觉主动性，编者特意安排了“读一读”这个活动板块。
教材先形象而简明地描述了读报的好处，在引起学生阅读期待的基础上，商榷性地提出读书任务。
