第一,协助学生采用多种方法记忆生词。
学生的精力是有限的,我鼓励学生“小吃多餐”——每次只用半小时,但每天都坚持。
不要“三餐合在一顿吃”——平时不坚持,考前拼命记。
记生词时应尽力做到“四到”:“眼到” ----- 看;“耳到” ---- 听;“口到”-----说;“手到,, --- 写,加深对生词的理解。
同时也教导学生采用多种方法记生词。
除机械记忆外,也鼓励学生在阅读文章中多理解、多再现生词,从而达到巩固词汇的目的。
第二,归纳一些特殊词汇的用法,协助学生拓展词汇,找岀一些词语的内在规律,从而扩大自己词汇量。
如一些名词,如head “头”也能够作动词,意思就是“用头去顶”;名词hand “手”能够做动词,跟“手”相关,意思是“用手传、递”等意思,这就是词的转化用法。
又如“-tion”是名词后缀,放在很多动词后而时,动词就变成名词,这是词的派生用法。
又如一些词能够合在一起组合成新的意思:如teenage、sitting-room等,是词的合成用法。
当然不是所有词都能够按照这些规律实行“合成、转化、派生”。
提醒学生记牢一些能够合成、转化、派生的常见词。
第三,在写作的过程中,要锻炼学生巧用连接词。
