【教学目标】
1. 能理解课文,初步说出课文大意。

2. 在故事学习的过程中,联系上下文,结合插图,在语境中理解新词kangaroo、koala、magazine、sport-lover、Sydney、visitor,初步感知will的用法。

3. 通过对文本的朗读和分析,通过一系列的音频、视频资源,了解、体验澳大利亚的有趣interesting之所在,开拓国际视野。

4. 通过这一课的学习,将中国和澳大利亚进行横向比较,进一步加强家国情怀,在开拓国际视野的同时,进一步形成正确的社会主义价值观,唤醒文化意识,文化品格得到提升。

5. 通过本节课的学习,在以后的学习过程中能自主尝试通过不同的途径来查询资料,获取信息,学习能力进一步提高。

【教材分析】
本课是一节课内阅读课,向学生介绍了澳大利亚,以及了解澳大利亚的方式。

本课是阅读教学的第一课时,侧重于让学生整体感知理解文本,让学生体会到澳大利亚的interesting。

因为是第一课时,教学重点是理解,在阅读教学中要突出讲故事,要引导学生观察故事中的人、物、环境。

在教学过程中让学生享受故事带来的乐趣。

学生在学完这一节课后,一定要是无负担的,开心的,在掌握基本的英语语言知识
的提前下,形成用英语与他人交流的能力基础上,进一步发展思维品质,提高学习能力,培养文化品格。

【学情分析】
通过三年多的英语学习,六年级的学生已经有了一定的语言知识储备,会简单的对所看到的图片、事物、人物进行描述。

在备学生这一块儿是,我一直问自己:学生已经学会了什么?学生还需要什么?始终站在学生的高度,每一个环节的设置都充分考虑到学生的能力,让他们尽可能在自己的能力范围内有话可说,不管是知识能力,还是认知能力。

除此之外,还要适时的评价学生、鼓励学生,让他们感受到成功的喜悦,爱被表扬,也是这个年龄段孩子的特点。

这个年龄段的孩子在speaking/ thinking 方面较低中段孩子更为活跃,所以在备课环节中,要充分考虑到,充分给学生自主思考,表达的机会。

【重点难点】
1. 通过这一课的学习,将中国和澳大利亚进行横向比较,进一步加强家国情怀,在开拓国际视野的同时,进一步形成正确的社会主义价值观,唤醒文化意识,文化品格得到提升。

2. 通过本节课的学习,在以后的学习过程中能自主尝试通过不同的途径来查询资料,获取信息,学习能力进一步提高。

【教学过程】
Step 1: Pre-reading
Activity 1: Free talk
1. 猜一猜hobby Purpose:由简单的交流入手,过渡到爱好,并且以
照片墙为clue给学生猜,以此和本节课的主题相关different countries 2. T: If you have time and money, where do you want to go? And why? Purpose:初步了解学生的知识储备,调动学生在本节课的学习动机。

Activity 2: Watch a video “There is nothing like Australia” T: Try to use a word to summarize the title.
T: Try to say something about Australia like I think Australia is special, different, because ____________________.
Purpose:让学生通过观看视频,体验感受澳大利亚的与众不同,并能尝试用自己的语言,用完整的句子将所看到的,所体验到的表达出来,进行语言的输出,再次起到热身作用。

Activity 3:Learn some history of Australia 通过对比澳大利亚和英国的国旗,感受澳大利亚的又一不同、特殊之处。

Purpose:培养学生仔细看的能力,学会观察是语言能力中的一个方面。

同时,在学生表达两个国家的关系时,引导学生用简单的语言来表达,养成用英语思维,英语解释英语的习惯。

1. 教授find out ,引导学生用英语解释英语,并介绍英文词典。

Purpose:让学生能够知道在以后的学习过程中,用英文词典来查询自己不理解的新单词或短语,更有助于英语学习。

2. Guess what lessons——Travel – learning
Purpose:为后文homework的布置奠定基础。

游学今年教育部新提出
的课程理念,扩大学生视野,其实学生每逢寒暑假都会组织出游,要让学生意识到游和学的相结合,并带着这样的意识学习课文,将会学到更多,并不只是带着欣赏的眼光来看世界。

Activity 2: 看课文动画Watch & find
Q: How will they find out about Australia?
1. 请学生完成板书思维导图第一步。

2. 教师示范引导学生完成第二步,加上一些Key words
3. 对照板书用He/ She will … 复述P58 内容
Purpose:初次通过视频,让学生整体感知,通过视觉、听觉捕捉关键信息,了解思维导图需要pictures and words,通过key words, pictures 可以脱离书本。

1. Introduce Wikipedia
Purpose:培养学生的学习能力,知道在以后的学习过程中,可以利用英语搜索引擎来学习更多有关英语的内容。

2. Read & underline
1)Animal a. Read b. Q: What do you know about kangaroos? Purpose:让学生用英语表达自己的想法,给予学生机会开口说,进行语言输出,新旧知识相交融,锻炼说的能力。

c. Guess how far/ high kangaroos can jump.
Purpose:让学生体验到kangaroos的interesting/ special d. Q: What do you know about koalas?
e. 由科学老师出场介绍koalas总是抱树的原因
f. 让学生意识Don’t bother koalas.
Purpose:通过以上环节,让学生了解到在学习过程中如有不同学科的问题,可以主动向不同学科的老师请教,在文化品格方面,则让学生知道love/ respect animals的必要性。
