雅思大作文真题2013年2月14日社会类

2013.02.14社会类:Some people think young people should be free to choose his or her job, but other people think they should be realistic and think more about their future. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.7分范文:In today ’ s labour market, what kind of jobs do young people favor? While some mainlyconsider about some realistic issues such as initiative salary or working conditions, othersmay choose one simply because they like it.Of course it is very justified for job seekers to be realistic when f acing the severe competition in employment. College graduates have little chance to be romantic but thinkabout the starting payment, security, working hours and future promotion opportunity. Inmy country, many parents encourage their children to compete for a civil servant positionas it is permanent for life. Other things such as personal interest or feelings have to comesecond. However, many young workers complain about their job of a high level of security. They tend to suffer from tediousness and indifference.I personally support young people to have freedom to choose their career in the hope ofenhanced job satisfaction. They should be allowed to choose what they have interest inand feel inspired to be better each day. When a worker feel satisfied with his or her job, heor she would be self-motivated and dedicated to their career. They tend to spare little effort to achieve their working goal which is set clear and ambitious. Even if some jobs arenot permanent, those who outperform their colleagues in these workplaces can also gainhigh degree of security. To conclude my argument, it is ideal to land on a job position which not only is stable butalso ignites one’ s passion for work. However, there is nothing perfect in this world andespecial in the employment sector. My suggestion is to give priority to personal inclinationto a particular job when one is seeking for a job.( 288 字)。

大作文:Space travel has been possible for some time and some people think the space tourism could be developed in the future. To what extent do you think it's a positive or negative development?提纲:American, Russia and my country China have successfully sent their astronauts to the outer space. Inspired by space technology, some wealthy ambitious explorers have extended their sight beyond the earth. While the idea of commercial space flight is being conceived by some pioneer organizations, some concerns are raised in terms of the adverse effects on human body and the environment. (非谓语,平行句型)Surely orbit flight is an exciting and worthwhile experience. The breath taking view of our blue Earth from the space, the non-twinkling starts hanging on the dark endless outer space background and walking in the space of microgravity definitely would expand their horizon and impress the participants for life. The most important drive behind this enthusiasm for space tourism should be the potential billion dollar business. Such a trip can cost 20 million dollars for each person now, but the price is expected to decline gradually with the advance of aviation technology, hoping to attract wider spectrum of class groups. Therefore prosperity in space tourism is being predicted in future decades by some optimists. (转折句,非谓语,现在进行时的被动句)However, cautious optimism is another attitude towards this prospect. Scientists are concerned about the impact on the environment of launching a rocket, which emits much larger amount of carbon than any other transportation on the earth, accelerating global warming. In addition, safety and health issues have to be considered. It has obviously been noticed that astronauts living long term in weightlessness are confronted with physical deterioration including loss of bone and muscle mass. Constrained in a small cabin tends to suffer from psychological changes such as depression, anxiety and insomnia. However, space tour tends to be as short as a couple of hours and these effects can be minor and temporary. (定语从句,比较句型,非谓语,形式主语)To sum up my idea, space tourism can be expected to flourish like the international tourism on the earth in the last decades. Meanwhile it is also true that there will be some negative impacts on the environment and tourists’ physical and psychological condition. As humans always do, they gain some progress at the cost of something else.

Some people think that it is acceptable to use animals in medical research for the benefit of human beings, while other people argue that it is wrong. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.相关题目:Some people think that we can use animals in any way for the benefits of human beings. Others disagree. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. 2008.02.02Some people think it is necessary to use animals for testing medicines intended for human use. Others, however, think it is not right to do so. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. 2010.09.11提纲:In modern society, laboratory testation on animals is a common way of ensuring the safety of a new medicine or medical procedure and most people have formed this conception that it is acceptable that animals are tested on for medical purpose. However, whether it is legal is different from whether it is ethical, especially when we see it not from our human perspective.Obviously people who support this practice put more value on human life than animals’ and they believe that animals should be sacrificed for the benefits of human races. To maximize the health and safety of mankind, animal testation is the best way to get the accurate and reliable data for a particular medicine or procedure because animals have similar biological characters and structures. Conductingexperiments on animals before launching a new therapy is also a responsible practice to patients who deserve every respect to their life. However, it is equally reasonable to say that animals have their intrinsic right to life. In other words, animals and humans have totally the same rights to live on the earth and therefore no one should takethe life of the other for any purpose. Animal protectors also raise the evidence that laboratory rats have nerve system which means that theycan feel pain. That is why many opponents of animal testation suggest computer simulation, hoping to replace the cruel way of experimentation with machine. To summarize this essay, while I believe animals should be respected under every circumstance, I have to admit that there is no better way than medical testation on animals to secure patients against potential dangerous effects. Reconciliation is hard to achieve, but suggestion can be to control the number of animals tested on in laboratory and reduce the pain that they may endure during the experiments.。
