英文字母的来源
“英文字母是由英国人创造的”,这句话似乎无可非议,其实不然。

翻翻英语起源资料就会明白:字母是在约3 500年前由腓尼基人发明的!腓尼基人精于航海和经商,他们把极为有用的二十二个字母传到希腊,希腊人经过增减定下二十四个字母。

后来罗马人接受了其中二十三个字母。

英国人在罗马人之后学到这些字母,后来他们又增加了j,u和w,才形成今日的26个英语字母。
