乐器-Fuzz Factory Flare Fuzz 手册说明书

乐器-Fuzz Factory Flare Fuzz 手册说明书

FlareFuzz FactoryOverviewFuzz Factory Project LinkThe Flare is a clone of the ZVEX Fuzz Factory, a really interestinglittle box that lets you create everything from a really thick butmusical fuzz to some messed-up oscillations. The Fuzz Factoryis essentially a classic Fuzz Face with a LPB-1 booster in front ofit, but with the twist that it uses PNP transistors running on +9Vrather than -9V like a standard Fuzz Face. This is not a user-friendly pedal by any means—the knobs arevery interactive, and there are a lot of settings that don’t work, butif you start with some default knob settings you can get a goodfeel for what it’s capable of.The Fuzz Factory is notable for being custom-built directly intothe guitars of Matthew Bellamy of Muse. He uses it for his maindrive tone as well as for feedback & oscillation purposes. Controls & Usage• Drive controls the amount of fuzz, equivalent to an overdrive’s gain control. This also turns intosomething of a feedback pitch control when the Stability is reduced.• Level is the output level of the effect.• Comp changes the attack. It is heavily affected by the Stability control.• Stability reduces the +9V supply to change the bias of the whole circuit, changing the overall character of all of the knobs and throwing it into oscillation.• Gate turns off the transistor when the signal is below the threshold. Useful for creating glitchy sounds.• Soft reduces the gain of the first boost stage, which rounds out the fuzz a bit and gives it more of an overdrive character. Note that this control cuts off the signal toward the top end of the range!• Tone is a classic SWTC (Stupidly Wonderful Tone Control) appended to the end of the circuit to allow the treble content to be tamed a bit.• Body is an input capacitor blend that fades between a 100n and 10uF capacitor. This increases the bass and thickens up the effect.ModificationsThe three additional knobs can all be bypassed if you want to just build a classic Fuzz Factory.• Body can be left off without using any jumpers; just include C2 but not C8.• Soft can be omitted by using a 220k resistor across the outer two pads (the silkscreen is marked “220k RESISTOR” here)• Tone can be bypassed by running a jumper between pads 1 and 3. Leave off C6.PartsBuild Notes1R1 is the 220k resistor that would normally go from base to collector on Q1. If you want to omit the Soft control, put this resistor across the outer two lugs (it’s marked “220k resistor” on the silkscreen).2You can use either germaniums or silicons here. The original uses germaniums AC128s. You can buy Fuzz Factory sets on eBay (I recommend eBay seller elebcz from Slovakia) or you can buy a standard Fuzz Face set from either eBay or Small Bear Electronics. For silicons, use 2N3906 or comparable PNPs. This gives a very different character than germaniums. There are plenty of people who actually prefer this version.3This control cuts out the sound in the last 10-15% of its range , but it’s useful up until that point, and you may be able to find some interesting sounds right on the edge. Since the Fuzz Factory is already plenty glitchy with a number of settings that don’t work, one more of them didn’t bother me too much.Starting control settingsThe Fuzz Factory is a very fun but very glitchy beast. If you fire it up for the first time with the knobs in randompositions, you may be very disappointed in what you hear! Use these positions as a starting point. (1-10 scale)Additional Part Notes• Capacitors are shown in nanofarads (n or nF) where appropriate. 1000n = 1uF. Many online suppliers do not use nanofarads, so you’ll often have to look for 0.047uF instead of 47n, 0.0056uF instead of 5n6, etc.• The PCB layout assumes the use of film capacitors with 5mm lead spacing for all values 1nF through 470nF. I prefer EPCOS box film or Panasonic ECQ-B/V-series .• Pots are 9mm Alphas. These mount directly to the PCB. Unlike the 16mms, I recommend soldering all of these in place before dropping the PCB into the enclosure. Just make sure the drilling is accurate!SchematicTS T A BGeneral Build InstructionsThese are general guidelines and explanations for all Aion Electronics DIY projects, so be aware that not everything described below may apply to this particular project.Build OrderWhen putting together the PCB, it’s recommended that you do not yet solder any of the enclosure-mounted control components (pots and switches) to the board. Instead, follow this build order:1. Attach the audio jacks, DC jack and footswitch to the enclosure.2. Firmly attach the pots and switches to the enclosure, taking care that they are aligned and straight.3. Push the LED1 into the hole in the enclosure with the leads sticking straight up, ensuring that the flat sideis oriented according to the silkscreen on the PCB.4. Fit the PCB onto all the control components, including the leads of the LED. If it doesn’t fit, or if you needto bend things more than you think you should, double-check the alignment of the pots and switches.5. Once you feel good about everything, solder them from the top2 as the last step before wiring. This waythere is no stress on the solder joints from slight misalignments that do not fit the drilled holes. You can still take it out easily if the build needs to be debugged, but now the PCB is “custom-fit” to that particular enclosure.6. Wire everything according to the wiring diagram on the last page.1 For the LED: You can use a bezel if you’d like, but generally it’s easier just to drill the proper size of holeand push the LED through so it fits snugly. If you solder it directly to the PCB, it’ll stay put even if the hole is slightly too big. Make absolutely sure the LED is oriented correctly (the flat side matches the silk screen) before soldering, as it’ll be a pain to fix later! After it’s soldered, clip off the excess length of the leads.2 Note on soldering the toggle switch(es): It will require a good amount of solder to fill the pads. Try to be as quick as possible to avoid melting the lugs, and be prepared to feed a lot of solder as soon as the solder starts to melt. I recommend waiting 20-30 seconds between soldering each lug to give it time to cool down.“RPD” and “LEDR” resistorsThe resistors marked “RPD” and “LEDR” are generally not original to the circuit and can be adjusted to preference. “RPD” is the pulldown resistor to help tame true-bypass popping, while “LEDR” controls the brightness of the LED. I generally use 2.2M for the pulldown resistor and 4.7k for the LED resistor.SocketsSince double-sided boards can be very frustrating to desolder, especially components with more than 2 leads, it is recommended to use sockets for all transistors and ICs. It may save you a lot of headaches later on.Parts Used• Switchcraft 111X enclosed jacks• Kobiconn-style DC jack with internal nut Hammond 1590B (bottom/inside view)Standard Wiring Diagram Array This diagram shows standard true-bypass wiringwith a 3PDT switch. When the switch is off, theinput of the circuit is grounded and the input jackis connected directly to the output jack. The SW pad is the cathode connection for theLED. This will connect to ground to turn it onwhen the switch is on. Usage of the on-boardLED connection is not required if you havespecific placement needs for your enclosure, but’s incredibly convenient. The wiring diagram also makes use of stargrounding principles where all of the groundsconnect to a single ground point (in this case thesleeve of the input jack). This is best practiceto avoid added noise caused by impropergrounding. The sleeve of the output jack isunconnected. If using a painted or powdercoated enclosure, make sure both jacks have solid contact withbare aluminum for grounding purposes. You mayneed to sand off some of the paint or powdercoaton the inside in order to make this happen.Make sure to double-check the markings of thepads on the PCB for your particular project – theyare not always in the order shown here!License / UsageNo direct support is offered for these PCBs beyond the provided documentation. It is assumed that you have at least some experience building pedals before starting one of these. Replacements and refunds will not be offered unless it can be shown that the circuit or documentation are in error. I have in good faith tested all of these circuits. However, I have not necessarily tested every listed modification or variation. These are offered only as suggestions based on the experience and opinions of others.Projects may be used for commercial endeavors in any quantity unless specifically noted. No bulk pricing or discounting is offered. No attribution is necessary, though a link back is always greatly appreciated. The only usage restrictions are that (1) you cannot resell the PCB as part of a kit, and (2) you cannot “goop” the circuit, scratch off the screenprint, or otherwise obfuscate the circuit to disguise its source. (In other words: you don’t have to go out of your way to advertise the fact that you use these PCBs, but please don’t go out of your way to hide it. The guitar effects pedal industry needs more transparency, not less!)。

Copley ACI 8-Stage Cascade Impactor 产品说明书

particular stage collection plate, whilst smaller particles with insufficient inertia will remain entrained in the air stream and pass to the next impaction stage.By analysing the amount of active drug deposited on the various stages, it is then possible to calculate the Fine Particle Dose (FPD) and Fine Particle Fraction (FPF) and following further manipulation, the Mass Median Aerodynamic Distribution (MMAD) and Geometric Standard Deviation (GSD)of the active drug particles collected.IMPACTOR USE (DRY POWDER INHALERS)The same impactor can be used for determining the particle size of Dry Powder Inhalers (DPIs).In this instance, however, a preseparator is interposed between the induction port and stage 0 of the impactor in order to collect the large mass of non-inhalable powder boluses typically emitted from a DPI prior to their entry into the impactor. In the case of Dry Powder Inhalers (DPIs), a number of additional factors must be taken into account when testing:• The pressure drop generated bythe air drawn through the inhalerduring inspiration• The appropriate flow rate, Q, to give a pressure drop of 4 kPa• The duration of simulated inspiration to give a volume of 4 litres• Flow rate stability in terms of critical (sonic) flowThese factors require the use of the “General Control Equipment” for DPIs specified in USP chapter <601> and “Experimental Set Up” for testing DPIs in Ph.Eur. 2.9.18 which take all of these factors into account. These specifications form the basis of the Critical Flow Controllers (see Page 80) which incorporate all of the equipment required into a single integrated system.Andersen Cascade Impactor (ACI)Schematic of ACI for DPIs complete with Preseparator,Critical Flow Controller and PumpAndersen CascadeImpactor for DPIs(with Preseparator)version, stages 0, 6 and 7 are removed andreplaced with three additional stages, -0, -1and -2.Changes are also made to the configurationof the collection plates (with and withoutcentre holes). This results in a set of cut-points as per thetable below.QUALITYA number of papers published in the late1990s highlighted concerns relating to themanufacture and performance of the ACImanufactured by Graseby-Andersen between1992 and 1998.These focused on the choice of materialused in their design, their construction, easeof use, accuracy, calibration and the ability tosuitably qualify the impactors prior to use.Because of these criticisms, Copleycommenced manufacturing the ACI usingthe latest state-of-the-art productiontechniques. These techniques ensure that 100% of thejets of every stage of every Copley impactorconform to the published critical dimensionsfor the ACI stated in USP Chapter <601> andPh.Eur. Chapter 2.9.18.The validity of this data is guaranteed bydimensional verification using the verylatest vision inspection technology havinga demonstrated optical reproducibility of 1MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTIONThe ACI was originally designed for environmental air sampling and is traditionally constructed from aluminium. However its adoption by the pharmaceutical industry has placed far harsher demands on the material because of the use of organic solvents in the drug recovery process.Recent advances in automated, high precision machining techniques now mean that the ACI can be manufactured from 316 stainless steel (the pharmaceutical industry’s preferred material) and also titanium. The main advantage of 316 stainless steelis that of superior corrosion resistance and durability, meaning that 316 stainless steel impactors manufactured by Copley arenot only very competitively priced but also highly cost effective, helping to maintain accuracy and extend impactor life by reducing mechanical and chemical wear. Electrically conductive, stainless steel can also help reduce the unwanted effects of electrostatics in the impactor.Where the weight of 316 stainless steel isa concern, Copley can also offer titanium, which has the durability of 316 stainless steel but with a 40% reduction in weight.Copley continues to offer aluminium ACIs for those users who prefer a lower cost option or for those cases where their methods are such that corrosion resistance and durability are not an issue. Leak-free inter-stage sealingis achieved through the use of high qualityFDA approved silicone rubber O-rings.Preseparators feature a one-piece seamlessconstruction and, together with the inductionports, come with mensuration certificatesas standard. All collection plates are manufactured from316 stainless steel. They are individuallyinspected for surface roughness and laseretched on the underside with batch numberfor traceability. Also available as options are a one-piece 316stainless steel induction port and speciallymodified ‘O-ring free’ 316 stainless steel inletcone and preseparator lids for accepting theNGI style induction port.EASE OF USEThe “Quick Clamp” is an optional accessoryfor use with the ACI which can also beretrofitted to existing impactors.Constructed from stainless steel, the “QuickClamp” provides a quick and easy means ofassembling, clamping and dis-assembling allor part of the impactor stack (for example, less stages 6 and 7) during routine operation.Once the assembled stack is in position, theclamping action is achieved very simply byturning a small knob through 90 degrees. 3. Hydro mechanical
• Are a hybrid of both designs, usually hydraulic up and mechanical down
Easier passage with larger OD tools. Passage difficult or impossible in high inclination wells. Dailey and similar designs can Change by 10 -15%
Typically has a larger ID than mechanical jar with the same OD, which is an advantage up to an OD of about 6 ¼”. Yes 400ºF bottom hole static is approximate limit. As temperature increases, tool may release sooner and without reaching full tension.

Jarring Objectives
Kinetic Energy = ½ MV2 M= Mass (weight) of BHA above the jar. V= Velocity (speed) at which the mass is moving when the jar fires (hammer strikes anvil) in feet/second ,
Schlumberger Private
Ease of admitting wireline cable for surveying equipment and string shots. Ability to increase or decrease tension setting from surface.

Drilling Jars
• Are immediately available to apply jarring action and release the stuck portion of the string • Designed to apply an intensified force in either upward or a downward direction. • Must apply the force or overpull in addition to the load already supported by the rig and the DP Jarring Objective • To transfer the potential energy stored in the stretched drill pipe to kinetic energy in the BHA above the jars. • The magnitude of the stress wave is related to the velocity of the accelerated BHA • The duration of the wave is related to the length of the BHA
• Consists of two reservoirs of hydraulic fluid separated by a valve. When tension or compression is applied to the tool in the cocked position, fluid from one chamber is compressed and passes through the valve at high flow resistance into the second chamber. When the strokes reaches certain point, the compressed fluid is allowed to suddenly bypass the valve The valve trips as the fluids rushes into the second chamber, instantly equalizing pressures between the two chambers The greater the force on the jar, the greater the compression of the fluid and the sooner and more forceful the release. Does not trip at preselected threshold The jar trip is determined by the magnitude of the applied tension or compression.

Drilling Jars
There are three types of drilling jars: 1. Mechanical Jars
• • • • • • Operate using a series of spring, lock and release mechanisms Trips up at a preselected tensile force, and trips down at a preselected compressional force The position of the mechanical jar while drilling is either cocked (neutral) or extended. Drilling is never conducted with jars tripped down as unnecessary jarring might damage the bit and BHA components. Delivered to the rig with specific up and down tripping load settings. Can be varied down hole 10% - 15% by applying torque to the drill string

Basic Jar Schematic
Impact and Impulse
Impact is defined as the magnitude of the force delivered to the stuck spot in the BHA. The impact force is generated at the drilling jar and it travels down the BHA to the stuck spot. The impact force must be stronger than the sticking force at the stuck spot. If the impact force exceeds the sticking force, the BHA slides for a short distance. The distance that the BHA slides is determined by the impulse delivered to the stuck spot. Impulse determines how long the impact lasts. The larger the impulse, the more that the BHA slides per jarring cycle and the sooner the string is freed. Both impact and impulse are required for effective jarring. In all cases, it is necessary for the impact force to exceed the sticking force or the BHA will not slide, no matter how great an impulse is available. Maximize Impact for Mechanically stuck and Packed off Strings Maximize Impulse for Differential Sticking (more mass to free the drill string)
