哥本哈根市中心往南有一个新兴发展地区叫 “restad”，坐落在本中心的“8House”（又叫 “8Tallet”）正在成为改变人类居住史的一个项目。 它是一个非常先迚的公寓联合体，在自身内部就可以 形成一个完整的邻里共生关系。“8House”公寓区 拥有令城区居民艳羡的视野：哥本哈根运河尽入眼底， Amager岛也近在咫尺 。 这个公寓联合体由“BIG”建筑事务所承建。 “8House”的名字部分来源于主体建筑酷似阿拉伯 数字“8”的形状。除了视觉上相当有趣，采取这种 造型还有功能上的考虑：建筑的各个方位高度不一致， 因此而形成的倾斜造型有利于光线和空气自由迚入建 筑中间的庭院（即“8”字的两个圆圈内的区域）。

2012.06 城市住宅 | 107Habitat Samples /人居样本“8字住宅”（8House）位于丹麦首都哥本哈根的奥瑞斯塔丹市（Orestad），这座61000平方米的综合楼包括三种类型各异的住宅和10000平方米的商铺和办公区域，是丹麦目前最大的私人开发项目。
这栋由丹麦建筑事务所BIG （bjarke ingels group）负责设计的“8字住宅”又被叫做“big house”，一栋楼就包括了476套面积从65平方米到144平方米不等的户型。
BIG建筑理念新颖独特，很多项目曾获得国际性大奖。
“8字住宅”平面布局呈“8”字形，人们可骑车沿着露台花园从街道一直上到10楼的顶层公寓，花园周围的第一批住户已经入住。
“8字住宅”并不同于传统的建筑体，它把一个活跃的城市社区的所有成分叠加在水平层里，由直通十楼的连续的散步道和单车径联系，创造了一个三维立体的城市社区，把郊区生活融入到商业和居住功能共存的城市活力中。
哥本哈根的8House108 | 城市住宅 2012.06Residential“8字住宅”创造了两个独享的内部庭院，中心十字部分含有面向全部住户开放的500平方米公共设施，同时把庭院一分为二。
与此同时，一个9米宽的走廊穿过建筑，连接了西侧的公园地带和东侧的运河水系。
一个连续的公众步道从街道标高拉伸到顶层，使人们一路骑车到屋顶，途经花园联排别墅，蜿蜒地经过一个个类似农村的低矮院墙。
BIG布置了两个绿坡屋顶，在减少城市热岛效应同时给项目提供了视觉上更好的识别度，并且与隔壁朝南的郊区农场连为一体。
商业功能被安排在建筑底层，公寓设计在上部。
不同的水平层被赋予不同的品质：公寓有良好的视野、日照和新鲜空气，而出租写字楼和街道生活相融。
“8字住宅”的形状正是强调了这一点，在东北角高起，随后又在西南角下落，这样的形态为居住者保障了大量的阳光、新鲜空气以及美丽景色。
