这栋由丹麦建筑事务所BIG （bjarke ingels group）负责设计的“8字住宅”又被叫做“big house”，一栋楼就包括了476套面积从65平方米到144平方米不等的户型。
BIG建筑理念新颖独特，很多项目曾获得国际性大奖。
“8字住宅”平面布局呈“8”字形，人们可骑车沿着露台花园从街道一直上到10楼的顶层公寓，花园周围的第一批住户已经入住。

进化理伦：“8House”的名字来源于主体建筑酷似阿拉伯数 字“8”的形状。除了视觉上相当有趣，采取这种造型完全 是为了适应各种外力因素，进化而来的。 上拉：赋予建筑空间使用者更多享受阳光和景观的权利。 下压：使建筑屋面形成坡度，具有更好的可达性。 扭转：调整建筑的朝向使其具有更佳的景观和日照条件。 叠加：实现项目多种复杂功能的混合。

哥本哈根市中心往南有一个新兴发展地区叫 “restad”，坐落在本中心的“8House”（又叫 “8Tallet”）正在成为改变人类居住史的一个项目。 它是一个非常先迚的公寓联合体，在自身内部就可以 形成一个完整的邻里共生关系。“8House”公寓区 拥有令城区居民艳羡的视野：哥本哈根运河尽入眼底， Amager岛也近在咫尺 。 这个公寓联合体由“BIG”建筑事务所承建。 “8House”的名字部分来源于主体建筑酷似阿拉伯 数字“8”的形状。除了视觉上相当有趣，采取这种 造型还有功能上的考虑：建筑的各个方位高度不一致， 因此而形成的倾斜造型有利于光线和空气自由迚入建 筑中间的庭院（即“8”字的两个圆圈内的区域）。
