潘基文世界难民日英语演讲稿:为什么我们应该更多关注难民群体?

潘基文世界难民日英语演讲稿:为什么我们应该更多关注难民群体?Ladies and gentlemen,As we gather together on this World Refugee Day, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on the plight of millions of refugees around the world. Refugees are people who have been forced to flee their homes due to persecution, war, or violence. They have left behind everything they know and love, and have embarked on a journey full of uncertainty and danger. There are currently over 26 million registered refugees worldwide, and this number is expected to continue rising in the coming years. This means that more and more people willbe seeking asylum, safety, and protection in countries other than their own. While some countries have welcomed refugees with open arms, others have closed their borders and turned away those in need.It is important that we all recognize the importance of supporting refugees and the potential that they have to contribute to our societies. Refugees are often resilient, resourceful, and determined individuals who have been able toovercome incredible obstacles to reach safety. They bring with them skills, knowledge, and experiences that are often overlooked and undervalued. Many refugees are professionals, entrepreneurs, and artists who have made significant contributions to their new communities. It is also important to recognize that refugees are not just numbers or statistics. They are human beings who have been forced to leave behind their families, homes, and everything they know. They have experienced trauma and heartache, and have had to build new lives in unfamiliar places. They deserve our empathy, compassion, and support. As we celebrate World Refugee Day, I urge everyone to take action to support refugees in any way they can. Whether it's by volunteering, donating, or simply becoming more informed about the refugee crisis, we can all play a role in helping refugees rebuild their lives and find hope for the future. In conclusion, I would like to leave you with the words of Nelson Mandela, who once said, "Our human compassion binds us the one to the other - not in pity or patronizingly, but as human beings who have learnt how to turn our commonsuffering into hope for the future." Let us all come together to support refugees and to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to live in safety and peace.Thank you.。
关于难民危机的英文作文

关于难民危机的英文作文English:As a global issue, the refugee crisis is a matter that demands our immediate attention and comprehensive solutions. The plight of refugees stems from various factors, including conflict, persecution, poverty, and environmental disasters. These individuals are forced to flee their homes in search of safety and opportunities for a better life. 。
One of the most pressing challenges associated with the refugee crisis is the issue of displacement. Millions of people are displaced from their homes, often with little to no resources or support. This can lead to overcrowded refugee camps, inadequate access to food, water, and healthcare, and heightened vulnerability to exploitationand abuse. For instance, in the Syrian refugee crisis, many families were forced to live in makeshift shelters in neighboring countries, enduring harsh living conditions and struggling to meet their basic needs.Furthermore, the refugee crisis poses significant challenges to the host countries. These nations often face economic strain and social tensions as they accommodate large numbers of refugees. Competition for jobs and resources can lead to resentment and hostility towards refugees, exacerbating existing social divisions. For example, in Europe, the influx of refugees has sparked debates over immigration policies and fueled the rise offar-right political movements.Addressing the refugee crisis requires a coordinated effort at both the national and international levels. Governments must prioritize humanitarian assistance, provide adequate support for refugees, and work towards long-term solutions to conflict and instability. Additionally, there needs to be greater cooperation among countries to share the burden of refugee resettlement and promote integration and inclusion. In conclusion, the refugee crisis is a complex and urgent issue that demands collective action and compassion.By acknowledging the humanity and dignity of refugees and working together to address the root causes of displacement, we can build a more just and inclusive world for all.

Ladies and gentlemen,It is truly an honor to speak to you today on theoccasion of World Refugee Day. This day is vital for raising awareness for those who have fled their home countries due to persecution, war, or conflicts. The United Nations has committed to help refugees and asylum seekers rebuild their lives and regain their human rights. As we celebrate this day, it is crucial to explore how we can improve the quality oflife for refugees. The number of refugees globally is increasing at an alarming rate, but we cannot ignore the fact that the humantoll of violence, instability, and persecution is immeasurable. It is important that we address the root causes of displacement, but it is equally important that we give refugees a better chance at survival and achieving a meaningful life.To achieve this, we need to ensure that refugees’ basic needs, such as shelter, food, water, healthcare, andeducation, are met. Providing these essentials not only immediately improves refugees’ wellbeing, but it also lays a foundation for them to thrive. We should also ensure that refugees receive legal protection and have the opportunity to participate in decision-making processes in their host countries. However, these steps alone are not enough to address the challenges we currently face. We must aim beyond basic needs and prioritize the development of skills and education that can enable refugees to become self-sufficient. Education is critical for refugees, as it provides a path towards a more stable future. Investment in vocational training, language courses, and other forms of education can provide refugees with the tools to begin anew in their host communities and contribute to local economies. It is also critically important that we recognize the contributions of refugees as valuable members of our global community. They bring with them unique perspectives and experiences that enrich our culture and workforce. Removing barriers for refugees’ participation in civic life, not only empowers them, but it also benefits the societies that host them.In addition, the support of the international communityis crucial in addressing the challenges that refugees face. Innovative solutions are needed to address the current inadequacies of the global refugee system. Providing sustained and predictable financial support to host countries and communities is pivotal. Finally, we must never forget that refugees are not just statistics or faces in news images. Each one is an individual with hopes, dreams, and aspirations. Their survival and progress depend on the collective efforts of nations, communities, and individuals to address the root causes of their plight and provide them with the opportunities they need to thrive. In conclusion, improving the quality of life for refugees demands a comprehensive approach. Basic needs must be met, education and skills must be provided, legal protection must be ensured, and barriers to participation in society must be removed. Together, we can give refugees the chance for a better future and contribute to building more resilient and inclusive communities and societies. Thank you.。

开场
Faced with the biggest human exodus since World War II,this unprecedented humanitarian crisis, Some countries are trying their best to build fences, strengthen borders and shut their doors, while others are opening their hearts and homes to make sure the world does not see devastating pictures like that of little Aylan Kurdi, who washed up on a Turkish beach, ever again. We will present you some countries’s responses to the crisis and briefly point out the reason behind their action.
德国部分
Germany pledged to take in an estimated800,000refugees this year more than any other UN nation and announced$9.6billion aid package to help ease the crisis.
Time magazine even named Chancellor Angela Merkel as its person of the year for2015,hailing her leadership during debt and refugee crises.
Of course,Merkel also drew criticism, even inside her own party, for fueling the influx by giving asylum seekers the green light to come to Germany.
And because of the complexity of the issue, the German government's attitude to the crisis has changed many times over the past year.
In July,German government showed a prudent attitude towards the refugee issue.
Then a change was seen in September, after this photo drawing international attention and sympathy. And Germany showed a gesture of wide welcome.
Later on,faced with the doubled even quadrupled asylum seekers,Germany had to reinstated border controls to slow the influx.
Although Germany didn’t punish Syrians for what happened in Paris,In December14,Merkel says Germany will slow down refugee intake in everyone's best interests.
So Why did German opened their arms to the refugees and then decided to temporarily close the border?I think there are various reasons for the stands of Germany.first of all it is the history of this country where it plays a role for that kind of humanitarian decisions.Second is the industry of Germany might require labour which could be offered by Syrian refugees.Admitting hundreds of thousands of migrants will help shore up its labour base for years to come.and thirdly, just not long ago,Germany was under fire for mismanaging Greece and the entire financial crisis.it is the negative image of Germany in Europe that led Merkel start this kind of initiatives to improve that image. The refugee issue is the second chance for Germany to show that it can lead Europe into the future. However,at the same time Germany alone is not able to solve the problem and that is why they decided to close its borders with Austria and now shrink the number.
英国部分
Let’s come to Britain.Unlike Germany, the UK has no real need for more migrants.
The UK's workforce is forecast to grow, while Germany's is expected to shrink.
the dependency ratio(the proportion of expensive older people in the population relative to able-bodied,tax-generating workers)is rising much quicker in Germany than in the UK.
This helps to explain why David Cameron only pledged to take in20,000Syrian refugees over five years,a paltry figure compared to Germany.
Besides,The refugee crisis engulfing Europe is putting David Cameron's Conservative government into an impossible position. It may even trigger Britain leaving the European Union.
Long before the refugee crisis erupted, migration was one of the biggest factors in how people were going to vote in the EU referendum.
Now,David Cameron bowed to immense pressure to take on more refugees from Syria, after the publication of iconic picture of the drowned Syrian boy.
Those who are scared of more migration will see this as the norm for the EU–being forced to take more people in.
Those who sympathize with the refugees will see it as not enough.
So
Cameron is damned if he does let in more refugees, and damned if he doesn't:。
