短语：be glad to do sth. 为固定短语，意为“很高兴做某事”。

4. Let’s turn on the computer . 让我们打开电脑吧。
⑴Let’s do sth. 让我们做……吧。
⑵turn on 为固定短语，意为“扭开，打开，接通”，一般指开打电脑、电灯、水龙头等。
它是一个由动词和副词构成的词组。
如果名词作其宾语，名词可以放在turn on 的中间，也可以放在turn on 的后面；如果代词作其宾语，代词只能放在turn on 中间。
其反义词为turn●—It is dark . Please turn on the light . (= Please turn the light on )天黑了，请打开灯吧。
5. The computer makes another noise . 电脑又响了一下。
⑴another 意为“另一，再一”，一般修饰单数可数名词，前面不需要再用冠词，在修饰表示时间、金钱、距离的名词时，一般放在数词前面。
●—Can you give me another five minutes to explain it ?你能再给我5分钟的时间解释一下吗？●—When we are talking , another man comes and joins in our discussion.当我们正在谈话时，另一个人走过来加入了我们的讨论。

②v. 意为“遮；掩护；包庇”●—She always wears a hat to screen her face from the sun .她总是戴着帽子遮住脸部，使其免受阳光灼晒。
⑵fail v. 意为“失败；不及格；缺乏；衰退”●—If you don’t work hard , you may fail . 如果你不努力就可能失败。
●—The crops failed because of drought . 由于干旱，农作物欠收。
7. “When something fails , it does not succeed,” says Li Ming .“当某事失败时，它就指某事没有成功”，李明说。
生词：succeed v. 意为“成功；做成；接替；继任”，其反义词为fail。
●—If at first you don’t succeed , try again . 若一次不成功，请再接再厉。
8. Suddenly , the words change. 突然，提示语变了。
生词：Suddenly adv. 意为“突然，忽然；出其不意地”●—Suddenly , everyone started shouting and singing . 突然间，大家都喊起来，唱起来了。

⑵forward adv. & adj. & n. 意为“向前，前进；前方的，前部的；前锋”●—I came forward and shook him by the hand . 我走上前，握住了他的手。

①vt. 意为“搜查；搜身；在……中搜寻”。
search的宾语一般为表示地点的名词，通常用结构search +地点+for sth. ，意为“在……搜寻/寻找……”。
