But why go to all that trouble when cities are full of black surfaces already, in the form of asphalt (柏油) roads?Ten years ago, this thought came into the mind of Arian de Bondt, a Dutch engineer. He finally persuaded his boss to follow it up. The result is that their building is now heated in winter and cooled in summer by a system that relies on the surface of the road outside.The heat collector is a system of connected water pipes. Some, however, dive deep into the ground.When the street surface gets hot in summer, water pumped through the pipes picks up this heat and takes it underground through one of the diving pipes. 有的地区最后一篇采取七选五的方式考核。
（2）文章本身和所附问题共约2000-2200词。
（3）要求在40分钟左右完成。
（4）会有少量生词出现，有的注了中文，有的则需猜测。
（5）有的旧词是以新的意义出现的。
（6）不但考查语言而且考查对英美文化的了解。
（7）阅读时会碰到的十大语言难点（长句的结构、词义的辨别、连词、替代、后置定语、非谓语动词短语、省略、跳跃、各种否定和虚拟语气。
