在第一单元Teachers’ Day中能正确认读月份和日期，Teachers’Day is September 10. 在此基础上来学习询问圣诞节的日期W hen is Christmas Day?对于大多数学生来说就比较简单。
第三单元第二课时学习生日聚会活动的表达时,孩子们已经掌握了Let’s sing the birthday song. Here’s a present for you.以及在四年级上册第三单元Days of the week.和四年级下册第四单元Weekend 介绍周末活动时，学过很多动词短语，都为本课描述圣诞节活动打下了基础。
我将本课定位为对话课，重点学习询问圣诞节的活动。
同时也要让学生明白不同国家过节的不同风俗。
这对于同学们来说还是有一定难度的，所以这节课我的目标定位在让学生能够熟练描述圣诞节活动。
在以后的几节课上会不断熟练巩固达到灵活使用。
这个单元的教学我将这样安排：第一课时，重点学习询问及描述圣诞节的活动。

教学目标确定的依据：一．教学内容分析本单元主题是 Christmas ，共有四节课，从语言功能上是谈论圣诞节的风俗活动。
Lesson 1 What do you usually do at Christmas? 学生们在以前的课堂中已经学习过 What do you do at the weekends?的类似句型，学生们类比到What do you usually do at Christmas?相对容易点，其难点在于个别单词的发音及运用。
长单词Christmas、December、together分音节学习会容易点。
December 25也是难点之一。
这里是第二次接触具体日期，上一次是October 7，这次是难在fifth的学习。
Santa 、sack、bag发音重点在于a的发音， Santa 中两个a ，但是发音不一样，重点强调第二个的发音，也容易望词生音，出现错误。
课文中另一难点在于句子He brings toys in his sack.稍显绕口，可以让学生们刚开始慢一点，二．学生分析本课的教学对象是太公小学五年级学生。
通过两年的英语学习，他们的听说读写能力已经初步形成，已掌握了丰富的英语知识，在课堂中除了语言点的学习，也要进一步培养学生积极的情感态度和自主学习能力。
