He was the man who inspired the Beat Generation, and nearly half a century after his death Jack Kerouac is still receiving grateful letters from his fans. Most letters are sent in the post to his last home in St Petersburg, Florida, and the mail box in the front yard is full to bursting. But others aredelivered by hand, pushed under the front door or left on the doorstep. They usually thank the author of On the Road for inspiring them to travel and be independent. “You remind me to stay true to who yo u are and to encourage a sense of adventure in all of us.” reads one letter, handwrittenby “Cindy” on paper covered with pictures of butterflies and flowers. She adds, “I hope you’re writing, liberated and drinking a glass of wine.”Another, signed “Friend of Jack”, reads, “I prefer to think of myself as a free spirit and a person who follows a path of her own choosing. You have always been my inspiration.”His home, where he was living with his mother Gabrielle and his wife Stella, has become a destination for hundreds of fans every year.Kerouac rocketed to fame at the age of 35, with the publication of On the Road in 1957.But after becoming a symbol and leader of the alternative lifestyle movement, he struggled with that fame and claimed that he only wanted people to read his books.Kerouac died just 12 years after On the Road was published. I am delighted with the house I am renting from him, which suits me perfectly.Mr. Heathcliff is my only neighbour, and I think his character is similar to mine. He does not like people either. When I introduced myself, he said nothing, but frowned, and did not encourage me to enter. After a while, however, he decided to invite me in.“Joseph!” he called. Joseph was an old servant. He looked crossly up at me as he took my horse. “ God help us! A visitor! ” he whispered to himself. Perhaps there were no other servants, I thought. And it seemed that Heathcliff hardly ever received guests. His house is called Wuthering Heights. The name means “a windswept house ona hill”, and it is a very good description. The trees around the house are bent by the north wind, which blows fiercely every day of the year. Fortunately, the house is strongly built, and is not damaged even by the worst winter storms.Mr. Heathcliff and I entered the huge main room. We sat down by the fire, in silence.“Joseph!” shouted Mr. Heathcliff. No answer came from the cellar, so he dived down there, leaving me alone with several rather fierce-looking dogs. Suddenly one of them jumped angrily up at me, and in a moment all the others were attacking me.“Help! Mr. Heathcliff! Help!” I shouted. My landlord was nowhere to be seen, but luckily a woman, who might be the housekeeper, rushed into the room tocalm the dogs.“What is the matter?” Mr. Heathcliff asked me rudely, as he finally entered the room, accompanied by his man-servant.“Your dogs, sir!” I replied. “You shouldn’t leave a s tranger with them. They’re dangerous.”“Come, come, Mr. Lockwood. Have some wine. We don’t often have strangers here. I’m afraid neither I nor my dogs are used to receiving them.” I could not feel offended after this, and accepted the wine. We sat drinking and talking together for a while. I suggested visiting him tomorrow. He did not seem eager to see me again, but I shall go anyway. He seems a fascinating man.1. In which order should the following events be arranged?a. Young people in the United States do not have a strong understanding of the world and their place in it.Two US-based groups, the Council on Foreign Relations and the National Geographic Society, conducted an online survey last year. They wanted to know what young people in American colleges knew about geography, U.S. foreign policy, recent international events, and economics. The survey was given to over 1,200 Americans between the ages of 18 and 26years. All of them presently attending, or having previously graduated from, a 2- or 4-year college or university. The average test score, out of 75 total possible answers, was 55 percent. The study identifies a few important problems. For example, only 30 percent knew that the only part of the U.S. government that can declare war is Congress. Only 60% of those taking the survey could identify Brazil on a world map.Part of the problem, argue the organizers of the survey, is the Internet. They say it is becoming harder to find high-quality information about world events amongst all the fake news and trivia which swamp the web. Forty-three percent of those questioned said they read about the news on Facebook.Another problem is that most college courses do not require students to learn about international issues. If such information is not required, Richard Haass from the Council on Foreign Relations said, then the United States could have leaders like Gary Johnson. He was a recent presidential candidate who did not know about the Syrian city of Aleppo when a reporter asked him about it.The survey results were not all bad. The young people also demonstrated agood understanding of climate change and renewable energy. And the majority of them said that international issues were becoming more important to them.Haass says these findings suggest the need to find ways to get goodinformation to students, both in school and online. To help, the Council on Foreign Relations is creating a new program called CFR Campus, designed tohelp build knowledge about global issues.1. What do we know about the survey?A. The participants were all recent university graduates.B. It was an online survey conducted by two US universities.C. It was given to over 1,200 American people aged from 18 to 26.D. It aimed to find out what the young people know about America.2. What’s one reason survey organizers give for young people’s lack of knowledge?A. The poor quality of the US university system.B. Young people’s unwillingness to travel abroad.C. The sources from which they get their information.D. Their lack of interest in knowing more about the world.3. What topic did the young Americans understand best according to the survey?A. Government organizations.B. Geographic information.C. Foreign relations.D. Environmental matters.4. In which column of a newspaper could we find this article?A. Economics.B. Education.C. National Politics.D. Entertainment.4. You can’t make a call or send a text on your mobile phone in the US townof Green Bank, West Virginia. Wireless Internet is outlawed, as is Bluetooth. As you approach the tiny town on a two-lane road that snakes through the mountains, your mobile phone signal drops out, and your radio stops working. The rusted pay phone on the north side of town is the only way for a visitorto reach the rest of the world. It’s a pre-modern place by design, lacking of the latest technologies that define life today. The reason for the town’s empty airwaves is apparent the moment you arrive. It’s the Robert C. Byrd telescope, also known as the GBT, a shiny white, 147-metre-tall satellite dish. It’s the largest of i ts kind in the world and oneof nine in Green Bank, all of them government owned and operated by theNational Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO).You don’t look through these kinds of telescopes. They’re radio telescopes, so instead of looking for distant stars, they listen for them. There’s a long line of astronomers all over the world who want to use the telescope which is so sensitive that it could hear a single snowflake hitting the ground 1,000 miles away.Such a sensitive listening tool needs total technological silence to operate, so in 1958 the US government created a National Radio Quiet Zone, a 33,000 km2 area covering Green Bank where, to this day, electronic and radio signalsare forbidden every hour of every day.People who live within a 15km of the Green Bank telescope are allowed to use landline telephones, wired Internet and cable televisions, but microwave ovens, wireless Internet and radios are forbidden. You can have a mobile phone, but you won’t get a signal.Because of how much its way of life varies from the rest of America, Green Bank seems to be a somewhat isolated (隔绝), even alien place. For locals, the technology ban is annoying. For others who come to Green Bank for a littlerest and relaxation, the town has become a refuge .1. What do we know about the town of Green Bank from Paragraph 1?A. It’s located at the base of a large mountain.B. It is geographically and technologically isolated.C. Its telecommunications are affected by its geography.D. Many people live in the town and its surrounding areas.2. How does the GBT work?A. It traps light waves in its huge dish.B. It stops all electronic and radio signals.C. It receives pictures from space satellites.D. It listens for and receives noises from space.3. What equipment are locals of the Green Bank allowed to use?A. Cable TV, wired Internet and radio.B. Landline phones, wired Internet and cable TV.C. Public phones, wireless Internet and mobile phones.D. Landline phones, microwave ovens and cable internet.4. What does the underlined word “refuge” in the last paragraph most probably mean?A. A place of escape.B. A source of confusion.C. An area of interest.D. A sign of danger.二、七选五5. A 2018 statistic shows that women nowadays hold just 5.8 percent of CEOs positions at S&P 500 companies, according to Catalyst. While i t’s not a huge shock that women are somewhat underrepresented in leadership positions, what is surprising though, is the fact that females may actually be better suited to lead in almost every area, at least according to new findings from the BI Norwegian Business School. In their research, Professor Martinsen and Professor Lars Glas surveyed (调查) 2,900 managers with a special focus on personality types. The results were clear: Women scored higher than men in four of the five major leadership-centric categories. While some people believe that men inherently make better leaders — probably because they picture a leader with a commanding voice, which is more typical of men than women — this piece of research suggests that women are better at methodical management and goal-setting, openness, sociability and supportiveness, as well as ability to communicate clearly. There was one area in which men scored higher than women, though, and that was on emotional stability and ability to face job-related pressure and stress. The results suggest that women are more sensitive to the effects of high-pressure or highly emotional situations.Obviously, it’s important to consider individual(个人的) differences. Anyone, regardless of gender, may be an inspiring leader and a competen t boss. So next time you’re hiring for a management position, you just might want to give the resumes(简历) from female candidates a harder look.1.What makes us shocked much at leadership positions?A.Women are worse than men.B.Men take almost all high positions.C.There is a huge gap between genders.D.Women might behave better in every field.2.Which of the following can best replace the underlined word ‘‘inherently” in paragraph 4?A.properlyB.potentiallyC.naturallyD.normally3.Which of the following may be the best title of this text?A.How We Can Figure Out The Boss.B.Why Women Are Better Than MenC.Why Women Make Better BossesD.How We Can Tell Gender Difference4.Who might have special interest in this article?A.Job hunters.B.Employers.C.Employees.D.University students.3、On a February afternoon in a classroom, Taylor came face to face with a cow-but it was all in her head.A virtual(虚拟的)reality headset had transported her and her classmates to a farm 250 miles away and for them, the technology means field trips are no longer limited by a bus ride.On any given day, students nationwide walk through fields, dive into deep sea, and observe medical operations by using such headset. It's another way to attract the iPhone generation of students and improve their understanding and their grades.Richard Lamb is a scientist working at Buffalo Science Lab. In the lab, the physical effects of virtual reality become clear as participants experience motion (运动) sickness without m oving. “Some of the research we’re doing has shown that what you experience in virtual reality has very similar responses that you would get if you were doing the actual activity, ” Lamb said. It's unknown how many classrooms have or will adopt the technology, but experts say it's still relatively rare. While individual headsets that require a user’s phone can cost as little as $20 or $30, systems and software for classes will cost thousands of dollars. Early complaints about a lack of good software are fading as more companies enter the market, but the rules for use haven't necessarily caught up with the technology. In New York, virtual lab experiments don’t count toward the state's hands-on lab time requirements. Even so, the sciences are an area w here virtual reality holds particular promise for classrooms. “The big gest impediment is going to be the quality of that experience, and that means how closely it mimics (模仿) the physical world, ” said David Evans, a scientist. “ Doing dangerous things and running into a lot more cases represent a huge learning opportunity.”Lamb agree d. “Too often in schools, when we do things in labs, you mix things together and you get this outcome. And if you don't get that outcome, you did something wrong, but we d on't have enough resources for you to redo it,” he said. “In virtual reality, all I do is on the computer. I don’t have to actually use chemicals.”1.What does a virtual reality headset really help the students do?A.Take some exercise.B.Perform an operation.C.Go for a bus ride.D.Have different experiences.2.The technology is rarely used in classrooms mainly because ________.A.students show little interest in itB.it's too expensive for users to afford itC.supporting software is inaccessible yetD.it's inconvenient to be operated by students3.Which word can replace the underlined wor d “impediment” in Paragraph 5?A.Opportunity.B.Difficulty.C.Surprise.D.Disappointment.4.Which of the following statements do both Lamb and Evans agree with?A.This technology can save students a lot of time.B.This technology is safe when used in experiments.C.This technology can enrich students' learning experiences.D.This technology can produce a better result in real life.4、No student of a foreign language needs to be told that grammar is complex. By changing the order of the words and by adding a range of auxiliary verbs (助动词) and suffixes (后缀), we can turn a statement into a question, state whether an action has taken place or is soon to take place, and perform many other word tricks to convey different meanings. However, the question which many language experts can’t understand and explain is—who created grammar? Some recent languages evolved due to the Atlantic slave trade. Since the slaves didn’t know each other’s languages, they developed a make-shift language called a pidgin. Pidgins are strings of words copied from the language of the landowners. They have little in the way of grammar, and speakers need to use too many words to make their meaning understood. Interestingly, however, all it takes for a pidgin to become a complex language is for a group of children to be exposed to it at the time when they learn their mother tongue. Slave children didn’t simply copy the strings of words used by their elders. They adapted their words to create an expressive language. In this way complex grammar systems which come from pidgins were invented.Further evidence can be seen in studying sign languages for the deaf. Sign languages are not simply a group of gestures; they use the same grammatical machinery that is found in spoken languages. The creation of one such language was documented quite recently in Nicaragua. Previously, although deaf children were taught speech and lip reading in the classrooms, in the playgrounds they began to invent their own sign system, using the gestures they used at home. It was basically a pidgin and there was no consistent grammar. However, a new system was born when children who joined the school later developed a quite different sign language. It was based on the signs of the older children, but it was shorter and easier to understand, and it had a large range of special use of grammar to clarify the meaning. What’s more, they all used the signs in the same way. So the original pidgin was greatly improved. Most experts believe that many of the languages were pidgins at first. They were initially used in different groups of people without standardization and gradually evolved into a widely accepted system. The English past tense—“ed” ending—may have evolved from the verb “do”. “It ended” may once have been “It end-did”. It seems that children havegrammatical machinery in their brains. Their minds can serve to create logical and complex structures, even when there is no grammar present for them to copy.1.What can be inferred about the slaves’ pidgin language?A.It was difficult to understand.B.It came from different languages.C.It was created by the landowners.D.It contained highly complex grammar.2.What is the characteristic of the new Nicaraguan sign language?A.No consistent signs were used for communication.B.Most of the gestures were made for everyday activities.C.The hand movements were smoother and more attractive.D.The meaning was clearer than the previous sign language.3.Which idea does the author present in the last paragraph?A.English grammar of past tense system is inaccurate.B.Children say English past tense differently from adults.C.The thought that English was once a pidgin is acceptable.D.Experts have proven that English was created by children.4.What is the best title for the passage?A.The Creators of GrammarB.The History of LanguagesC.Why Pidgins Came into BeingD.How Grammar Systems Are Used5、Some Ways to Increase Your Reading SpeedDo you have a lot of reading to do before class tomorrow? 2019届高考英语冲刺模拟练习试卷及答案

2019届高考英语冲刺模拟练习试卷及答案

2019届高考英语全真模拟密卷及答案(名师押题预测+实战训练,建议下载练习)1、Salvador Dali (1904-1989) was one of the most popular modern artists. The Pompidou Centre in Paris is showing its respect and admiration for the artist and his powerful personality with an exhibition bringing together over 200 paintings, sculptures, drawings and more. Among the works and masterworks on exhibition the visitor will find the best pieces, most importantly The Persistence of Memory. There is also L’Enigme sans Fin from 1938, works on paper, objects, and projects for stage and screen and selected parts from television programmes reflecting the artist’s showman qualities. The visitor will enter the World of Dali through an egg and is met with the beginning, the world of birth. The exhibition follows a path of time and subject with the visitor exiting through the brain. The exhibition shows how Dali draws the viewer between two infinities (无限). “From the infinity small to the infinity large, contraction and expansion coming in and out of focus: amazing Flemish accuracy and the showy Baroque of old painting that he used in his museum-theatre in Figueras,” explains the Pompidou Centre. The fine selection of the major works was done in close collaboration (合作)with the Museo Nacional Reina Sofia in Madrid, Spain, and with contributions from other institutions like the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida.1.Which of the following best describe Dali according to Paragraph 1?A.Optimistic.B.Productive.C.Generous.D.Traditional.2.What is Dali’s The Persistence of Memory considered to be?A.One of his masterworks.B.A successful screen adaptation.C.An artistic creation for the stage.D.One of the beat TV programmes.3.How are the exhibits arranged at the World of Dali?A.By popularity.B.By importance.C.By size and shape.D.By time and subject.4.What does the word “contributions” in the last paragraph refer to?A.Artworks.B.Projects.C.Donations.D.Documents.2、Do you love animals? Have you ever considered adopting a pet? “Yes,” you might reply. “But keeping a pet in the house is a big thing. There are lots of responsibilities to take,” you might add. It is true. Pet ownership means adoption fees, bills, food, toys, cleanup, and who knows what else. It's not something to take lightly. But the right pet can actually mean great things for you. Taking care of an animal can teach you how to be responsible and aware of the needs of others. The bond with a pet can provide immeasurable fulfillment for you. But how to pick the right pet? Don't worry!Small BirdsSmall birds can make a good introduction to the world of pet care. Canaries (金丝雀), for example, don't require a lot of one-on-one time, and a pair of them will happily keep one another entertained. All birds require regular cage cleaning, flesh food and water, along with a cage roomy enough for a bit of flying and some toys for amusement. Small birds don't like sudden movements or unexpected noises, so they're best cared for by older and calmer people.Betta Fish (斗鱼)Betta fish are happiest in smaller bowls. Bettas are beautiful fish, often jewel-toned, with long flowing fins (鳍). The bowl will need regular cleaning and water changes. You can have fun decorating the bowl with sand, plants and so on.Smaller SnakesDon't be frightened! Snakes are often misunderstood. Stay away from the larger ones, and of course, poisonous snakes, and you'll find that snakes can actually be pretty cool pets. The most popular variety is the corn snake, which is non-poisonous and will only grow to about 4 or 5 feet (1.2 to 1.5 meters) in length. If you adopt a young corn snake, it'll become used to you very quickly, happily being with you for warmth.1.In Paragraph 1 the author intends to tell us ________.A.what pet owners worry aboutB.the ways of picking the right petC.what a pet can provide for its ownerD.the responsibilities and benefits of keeping a pet2.What does the underlined word “roomy” in Paragraph 2 mean?rge.B.Bright.C.Crowded.D.High.3.The author advises us to adopt the corn snake because it ________.A.is a pretty cool pet often misunderstoodB.is smaller and non-poisonousC.will become used to us very quicklyD.will be happy with us for warmth3、A Competitive SportCheerleadingOver th e years, cheerleading has taken two primary forms: game-time cheerleading and competitive cheerleading. Game-time cheerleaders’ main goal is to entertain the crowd and lead them with team cheers, which should not be considered a sport. However, competitive cheerleading is more than a form of entertainment. It is really a competitive sport.Competitive cheerleading includes lots of physical activity. The majority of the teams require a certain level of tumbling (翻腾运动) ability. It’s a very common thing for gymnasts, so it’s easy for them to go into competitive cheerleading. Usually these cheerleaders integrate lots of their gymnastics experience including their jumps, tumbling, and overall energy. They also perform li fts and throws. This is where the “fliers” are thrown in the air, held by “bases” in different positions that require strength and working with other teammates.Competitive cheerleading is also an activity that is governed by rules under which a winner can be declared. It is awarded points for technique, creativity and sharpness. Usually the more difficult the action is, the better the score is. That’s why cheerleaders are trying to experience great difficulty in their performance.Besides, there is also a strict rule of time. The whole performance has to be completed in less than three minutes and fifteen seconds, during which the cheerleaders are required to stay within a certain area. Any performance beyond the limit of time is invalid.Another reason for the fact that competitive cheerleading is one of the hardest sports is that it has more reported injuries. According to some research, competitive cheerleading is the number one cause of serious sports injuries to women. Emergency room visits for it are five times the number than for any other sport, partially because cheerleaders don’t use protective equipment. Smiling cheerleaders are thrown into the air and move down into the arms of the teammates, which may easily cause injuries. Generally, these injuries affect all areas of the body, including wrists, shoulders, ankles, head, and neck. There can be no doubt that competitive cheerleading is a sport with professional skills. Hopefully, it will appear in the Olympics since cheerleaders are just as athletic and physically fit as those involved in the more accepted sports. It should be noted that it is a team sport and even the smallest mistake made by one teammate can bring the score of the entire team down. So without working together to achieve the goal, first place is out of reach.1.What is the main purpose of competitive cheerleading?A.To compare skills of participants.B.To make the audience feel amused.C.To attract more people to watch events.D.To cheer up the competitors on the court.2.The underl ined word “integrate” in Paragraph 2 probably means “______”.A.examinebineC.identifyD.replace3.We can learn from the passage that competitive cheerleading ______.cks necessary guidelines to followB.enjoys greater popularity than other sportsC.requires more designed actions than gymnasticsD.has a relatively high rate of damage to the body4.Which of the following shows the structure of the passage?I: Introduction P: Point Sp: Sub-point (次要点) C: ConclusionA.B.C.D.4、I left university with a good degree in English Literature, but no sense of what I wanted to do. Over the next six years, I was treading water, just trying to earn an income. I tried journalism, but I didn’t think I was any good, then finance, which I hated. Finally, I got a job as a rights assistant at a famous publisher. I loved working with books, although the job that I did was dull.I had enough savings to take a year off work, and I decided to try to satisfy a deep-down wish to write a novel. Attending a Novel Writing MA course gave me the structure I needed to write my first 55,000 words. It takes confidence to make a new start–there's a dark period in-between where you’re neither one thing nor the other. You’re out for dinner and people ask what you do, and you're too ashamed to say, “Well,I’m writing a novel, but I’m not quite sure if I’m going to get there. ” My confidence dived. Believing my nov el could not be published, I put it aside. Then I met an agent (代理商) who said I should send my novel out to agents. So, I did and,to my surprise, got some wonderful feedback. I felt a little hope that I might actually become a published writer and, after signing with an agent, I finished the second half of the novel. The next problem was finding a publisher. After two-and-a-half years of no income, just waiting and wondering, a publisher offered me a book deal–that publisher turned out to be the one I once worked for.It feels like an unbelievable stroke of luck–of fate, really. When you set out to do something different, there’s no end in sight, so to find myself in a position where I now have my own name on a contract (合同) of the publisher–to be a published writer—is unbelievably rewarding (有回报的) .1.What does the underlined part in Paragraph 1 mean?A.I was waiting for good fortuneB.I was trying to find an admirable jobC.I was being aimless about a suitable jobD.I was doing several jobs for more pay at a time2.The author decided to write a novel .A.to finish the writing courseB.to realize her own dreamC.to satisfy readers’ wishD.to earn more money3.How did the writer feel halfway with the novel?A.DisturbedB.AshamedC.ConfidentD.Uncertain4.What does the author mainly want to tell readers in the last paragraph?A.It pays to stick to one’s goalB.Hard work can lead to successC.She feels like being unexpectedly luckyD.There is no end in sight when starting to do something5、根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入横线处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选。

It also showed that 18% of women of color — as well as 12% of white women —said they’d skipped at leas t one class, meeting, fieldwork opportunity, or professional event because they were worried about their safety."This isn’t something anyone can point to and say," Kathryn Clancy, lead author of the paper, told BuzzFeed News. "These are all current issues that women of color are facing right now. They’re feeling unsafe today. They’re skipping professional events today.""The study really reinforces(使更强烈) a lot of what the literature already tells us — that women of color are more likely to experience multiple forms of harassment and feel more strongly the impact of a very unfriendly or aggressive work environment in science," Zuleyka Zevallos, a sociologist at Swinburne University of Technology in Australia, told BuzzFeed News. The study also outlined several approaches to addressing the problem, including creating a set of standards of behavior, diversity and cultural awareness training, and hiring many more women of color.Clancy also stressed that while professional societies could do a lot to foster culture change and make demands on their memberships, universities need to have swifter consequences for discrimination, and make it easier for victims to discuss these issues both formally and informally. It follows a similar official statement in France and comes after the British government was ordered by the High Court to develop new plans to reduce NO2in the air. Judges ruled that previous clean-air plans were not enough to meet European Union pollution limits in the coming years.Britain’s government has said the poor air quality has an unnecessary and avoidable negative effect on citizens’ health, and costs up to $3.5 billion in annual lost productivity.Part of the new plan involves an offer of $260 million to local governments to change rules where vehicle emissions(排放物)are over EU standards. Ideas so far include changing road layouts, reprogramming traffic lights and charging a fee for the oldest and most polluting cars on the road. The plan also includes $1.3 billion for government purchase of extreme-low-emission vehicles, nearly $130 million to improve infrastructure for electric vehicle charging stations and $378 million for remodeling existing vehicles.Climate change is also a reason for the plan to get these vehicles off the road. "We can’t carryon with diesel and petrol cars," Environment Secretary Michael Gove said. "It’s important we all preparefor a significant change which deals not just with the problems of health caused by emissions, but the broader problems caused in terms of accelerating climate change."Gove added that local communities are partly responsible for coming up with ways to limit emissions, including possible limitations on commuters(上下班往返的人) and the addition of cleaner mass transportation options. Local leaders are called on to draw up "appropriate plans" to deal with climate challenges related to emissions, he said.32.Why does the British government decide on this ban?A. To focus on its citizens’ health.B. To follow in France’s footsteps.C. To respond to the court’s request.D. To promote solar energy in transport.33.Which measure may the British government take to achieve its plan?A. Limiting the number of traffic lights.B. Changing the way roads are arranged.C. Removing old and high-emission vehicles.D. Investing in companies with electric vehicles.34.What can be inferred from Gove’s words?A. United efforts are needed to fulfill the plan.B. Convenient public transportation is badly needed.C. Vehicle emissions are the key factor in climate change.D. Petrol and diesel cars may hold back economic progress.35.What is the best title for this passage?A. Practical ways to reduce vehicle emissionsB. The EU forces Britain to improve the poor air qualityC. Britain plans to take petrol and diesel engines off roadsD.
