浅谈中美餐桌礼仪文化差异摘要吃是我们生活中一个重要组成部分。

不同的地域因不同的文化有着不同的吃的方式从而产生了“吃的礼仪”。

其中包括了餐桌礼仪。

不同地域的国家的餐桌礼仪都截然不同。

本文则从众多国家中挑选了中国与美国来讲述其餐桌礼仪的不同,以及产生不同的原因。

虽然餐桌礼仪只是一个很小的礼仪方式,但它却体现出中国与美国不同的文明发展,而且随着世界各国的接触越来越密切,不同文化礼仪之间也会逐渐产生影响。

因此,了解其他地域的文化礼仪变得十分重要。

当然也成为了文化习俗的重要组成部分。

在不同的文化背景下拥有不同的餐饮文化。

当你在和使用不同方式进餐的人一直吃饭时,如果你不了解他的饮食文化那你就会陷入尴尬。

我们不可能将全世界的饮食文化全都列举出来。

那么就让我们先来了解一下中国与美国的饮食文化中的不同。

如果你被邀请参加一个重要的正式晚宴,那么你的餐饮知识会引领你走向成功。

一、中美餐桌礼仪对照说到餐桌文化,它包括了很多关于文化与进食习惯的东西。

就像饮食习惯是了解一个人或一个文化的最好的方法,让我们来通过中美不同的餐桌礼仪来更好的解读中美两国人吧。

(一)餐桌摆设如我们所知,美国人的餐具是刀叉而中国人的是筷子。

用具的不同导致了彼此的文化礼仪各不相同。

让我们先来了解美国不同的餐桌摆设。

在美国,面包或沙拉的盘子要放在主盘的左边,而酒杯要放在右边。

如果有面包刀,将它们刀柄朝右放在面包盘上。

如果沙拉先上,吃沙拉的叉子就要放在离主叉稍远的左侧。

如果有汤,汤匙要放在比刀稍远的盘子的右边。

甜点的餐具,如小叉子和茶匙应平行的放在主盘上面,但经常也会与甜点一起上。

为了方便,一些餐厅与宴会女主人不会依附这些规矩,而是在每个座位都放一个统一的用具。

如果有酒杯和水杯,酒杯要放在右侧刀子正上方的地方,而水杯要在酒杯的左侧偏向45度更接近用餐者的地方。

咖啡或茶杯要放在餐具的右边,如果空间不够就放在餐具的上方。

杯子的柄要指向右侧。

主人经常会为宾客提供餐巾布。

而提供餐巾纸的时候,宾客要将其和餐巾布一样对待而不是团成团或撕成片。

餐巾应放在盘子上或叉子的左侧。

如果你被一个美国家庭邀请用餐或与你的美国客人一起用餐,你需要谨记这些知识。

否则他们会认为你很粗鲁,至少在餐桌上表现很不礼貌。

当然与此同时,当外国人来到中国经商或被中国的家庭邀请用餐的时候,他们也需要了解中国的餐桌礼仪,这样会更快的在中国取得成功或交到中国朋友。

而作为中国人,应该更了解这些礼仪。

否则就会被外国人取笑不了解自己的文化。

一般来说,中国现代的饮食与美国的相比更不拘礼节,尤其是与中国古代相比。

中国的餐桌礼仪在封建王朝时期尤为复杂,他们可以为了一次晚宴而使用很多碗盘和餐具并且要尊重长辈,不失体面。

而现在,一些礼仪仍广为人传。

尽管主人热情好客,我们也要记得将筷子水平的放在餐者面前,并将尖的一头指向左侧。

要注意,中国的筷子是有钝的锥底,而日本的筷子则是尖的。

如果有蘸酱,酱匙则会放在汤碗的上方。

饭碗要放在汤匙手柄左侧的上方。

将主菜碗放在汤匙的右上方。

所有主菜都放在桌子的中心,而用餐者自己吃自己的,或者给宾客夹菜。

我们可以说中国的餐桌文化就是筷子文化,任何小事都会影响你的方式甚至会给你带来麻烦。

因此,了解一些关于筷子的规矩是没有坏处的。

筷子要用右手的拇指和其他两个前面的指头正确的握着。

在不用的时候,要把筷子两端对齐的放置在桌子上。

一般情况下筷子都是用右手使用,但有时也会出现左手使用的现象。

尽管现在用哪一个手使用筷子都可以,但仍有少数人认为用左手使用筷子是不合礼数的,其中一种说法就是在圆桌上用餐时会给旁边的人造成麻烦。

在决定夹什么菜之后再下筷,而不能在盘子里翻来翻去。

在夹菜的时候,决不能像使用叉子一样用筷子的尖部去叉,也不能撕开像蔬菜那样的大的菜品。

而在一些非正式的场合下,一些小的菜品或像樱桃番茄和鱼丸那样难夹起的菜品是可以用叉的,但即使这样也会使一些传统主义者皱眉头。

(二)座位排序美国的传统桌子是方形的,由于大部分人都是使用右手的,因此荣耀的位置是主人的右手边。

男士要先帮助自己右侧的女士入座后才可入座。

男主人要让女贵宾坐在自己的右手边,而女主人要由她左边的男贵宾邀请入座。

为了移动方便,女士应从椅子的右侧入座。

除非有特定的要求,其他的宾客都是没有主次之分随便坐的。

座次尽量要男女穿插着坐,当所有女士都入座后男士才可入座,主人应在开餐前最后入座。

在私人住宅,主人应提供放置钱包的地方,宾客不能将钱包带到饭桌上,而在饭馆或公众场合则要将钱包放在膝盖上或手边。

中国的传统桌子是圆形的。

体现出了中国人向往和谐的一面。

当主人招呼入座的时候,宾客要按照主人安排的顺序入座。

作为主人安排座位的规矩是有点复杂并严格的。

第一个规矩就是在家庭聚会中,贵宾一定是这个家庭里最年长的人。

而贵宾都要坐在面向大门的位置,如果没有面向大门的位置,那面向南方的座位就是贵宾的位子。

第二个规矩是按照“社会地位”安排座位顺序。

甚至于普通的家庭聚会,这种“社会地位”则是由于宾客与主人的亲密程度来体现的。

相反,在那些正式宴会中对社会地位的体现却不是那么明显。

离贵宾最近的就是那些地位高的宾客的位置。

没有左右之分,只要是离贵宾近的位置就是地位高的象征。

但即使有规定的社会地位之分,主人也会尽量为了给宾客们提供良好的谈话氛围而将位置混合安排。

(三)餐桌气氛从座位排序上,我们不难看出美国与中国不同的餐桌气氛。

美国人就像他们的桌子一样,每个人都保持着合适的距离。

每个人都彬彬有礼。

你可能会感觉到友好但很正式,会感觉到乐趣却不能完全沉侵于此。

你会一直记得你是谁,你要如何表现。

而在中国的餐桌上,人们会把你当成他们的家人一样对待。

你要尊重长辈,但和他们交谈会很愉快;你会感觉到主人的热情好客,但不要为此失去尊严。

二、造成不同的原因造成中美餐桌礼仪文化不同的原因有很多,我着重选择了历史背景与人们的思想观念这两点来解释。

(一)历史原因中国具有悠久的文明历史。

作为最古老的国家之一,中国一直被她热爱和平的人民引以为荣。

中国的富贵人家,总是将家族的利益作为第一考虑的事情。

在商周时期之后,这种家族价值观以深入中国人的内心。

这一价值观在中国的餐桌礼仪上就表现在圆桌与尊敬长辈的方式上,而对于这些,中国的圣人孔夫子的教育起了很大的促进作用。

相对来讲,美国则是一个比较年轻的国家。

美国的历史是从传统的独立内战开始的。

起初它是由临近的一些种族和部落所组成,由于长时间的殖民统治,美国从英国和其他占领国的文化中吸取了很多文化和习俗。

因此,现在我们可以在美国见到很多欧洲的文化习俗。

同时,美国是与殖民者斗争而获得了自由,因此美国人坚信对自由的追求和权利。

这就是我们所见的美国餐桌气氛的原因之一。

(二)思想观念中国人在心态上被孔夫子的教育影响很多,表现在好几个方面,比如行为、尊严的意义以及该做的事。

从在餐桌上的交谈来看,我们会发现中国人在餐桌上不会谈论严肃的事,他们会尽量的提升气氛。

他们相信“家庭和睦是最好的”,他们会尽力去避免任何冲突任何事去破坏和睦的用餐气氛。

孔夫子所教育的“仁”与佛教是对中国基本价值理念的另一大影响。

在中国,吃是最重要的事情。

当你遇到一个中国人问你“吃了没?”,那就是他们在用关注你生活中最重要的事情的方式来关心你。

相反,在美国,人们尽量避免谈论私人问题。

他们打招呼的方式是“你好吗?”,而与你进行交谈是由“今天天气不错,不是吗?”来开始。

他们不会像中国人那样谈论家里的事,他们对你家里的人做什么毫无兴趣,而中国通常会了解到你家里的远方亲戚的关系。

相比他人美国人更关心自己。

三、总结不同地域的餐桌礼仪也各不相同。

与所有文化相比,中美之间的差异根本不足为奇。

一个小小的餐桌礼仪,就反映出了中美之间不同的文明发展,并且随着世界各国之间越来越多的亲密接触,不同的文化渐渐会碰撞到一起。

当我们真正了解到“世界就是一个大城市,所有的人类都是这个城市的市民。

”这句话的含义时,我们就会看到学习不同文化的优势并接受我们生活中的不同。

饮食是人类生活最重要的组成部分,因此,了解不同的餐桌礼仪文化已成为了接受多元文化一个重要的方式。
