Step 1 Lead-in

1. first

a. 第一的,最先的(置于名词之前时,通常与the或one’s连用)

eg. the first month of the year 一年的第一个月

Linda is the first in her class. 琳达是班上第一名。

b. 一流的,最重要的

eg. be of (the) first important 是最重要的

first and last 总括起来,总之

2. number

a. 数字

a high / low number 大的/小的数目

an even / odd number 偶数/ 奇数

lucky number 幸运数字

b. 数量

the number of + n. ……的数量

eg. The number of students in our school has increased. 我们学校的学生数量已经增加。

a number of + n. 许多的,若干的

eg. I have a number of letters to read. 我有许多信要看。

I have seen the movie a number of times. 那部电影我已经看过好多次了。

3. age

a. 年龄

He and I are (of) the same age. 他与我同年级。

at the age of twenty 在20岁的时候

b. 时代

the Middle Ages 中世纪

c. an age, ages(口语) 长时间

It’s been ages (an age) since we met. 我们好久好久不见面了。

4. address

a. 致辞,演说,演讲(较speech正式的说法)

eg. an opening (a closing) address 开幕(闭幕)致辞

She gave an address of welcome. 她致欢迎辞。

b. 称呼,尊称,头衔(Mrs. , Dr. 等,也可称为form of address)

5. E-mail = electronic mail 电子邮件

6. company 伙伴

A man is known by the company he keeps. (谚)观友见其人。近朱者赤,近墨者黑。

7. patient

a.有耐心的,能容忍的(with+n. )对人;(of+n.)对事物

eg. You should be more patient with others. 你应该多容忍他人一些。

He was patient of hardships. 他能忍受苦难。

反——impatient 名——patience

Ss think about the two questions:

1. What does “last name ” mean in Chinese?

2. What is the last name of an English name?

T explains: 英美人姓名的排列顺序是名在前姓在后,与中文顺序相反。名字成为first name, 姓称为last name。如Ben Brown,我们可以直呼其名Ben,或称他为Mr. Brown。

Activity 4:Listen and tick.

Ss look at the picture carefully.

Ss listen to the recording and tick out the right names.

1. Address 意为“地址,住址”,写英文地址的顺序是从小到大,即先写门牌号,再写街道名,

然后是城市,最后是国家。

Be 动词的一般现在时

Be 动词是系动词的一种,表示“…是…”,或事物存在的状态。它的现在时有is,am,are 三种形式。含有be动词的一般现在时往往表示性质、状态、特点、身份等。例如:

1. He is a teacher. 他是一名教师。

2. I am a student. 我是一名学生。

3. They are at home. 他们在家。

Be动词除了第一人称单数用am,第三人称单数用is以外,其他人称均用are。I am可缩写成I’m,he/ she/ it is可缩写成he’s/ she’s/ it’s,而we/ you/ they are可缩写成we’re/ you’re/ they’re. 例如:

1. I am (I’m) busy. 我在忙。

2. He is (He’s) nine years old. 他9岁了。

3. We are (We’re) from China. 我们来自中国。

4. It is (It’s) a sunny day today. 今天天气晴朗。

be动词的常用句型:

1. 肯定句,主语+be动词+……。例如:

1) This is a map of China. 这是一幅中国地图。

2) Mary’s parents are both teachers. 玛丽的父母都是教师。

2. 否定句,主语+be动词+not+……。例如:

1) We are not (aren’t) in Class 1. 我们不是一班的。

2) My house is not (isn’t) far from school. 我的家离学校不远。

3. 一般疑问句,be动词+主语+……?例如:

1) Is it a white cat? 这是只白猫吗?

2) Are they from your school? 他们是你们学校的吗?

4. 特殊疑问句,特殊疑问词+be动词+主语+……?例如:

5. How many students are there in your school? 你们学校有多少学生?

6. Who is Mr. Green in this photo? 这张照片里谁是格林先生?

反身代词(reflexive pronoun):

1、第一、二人称的反身代词是由加上-self或-selves构成的。如:

I--myself we--ourselves you()-- yourself you(复数)-- yourselves

2、第三人称的反身代词是由的加上-self或-selves构成的。如:

she--herself he --himself it--itself they--themselves one—oneself

7. apply

apply + to名+ for名(向...)申请,请求,应征

apply for a job as an English teacher 应征英语教师的工作

apply to the government for help 向政府申请援助

apply oneself to 专心致力,从事于…

eg:It 's difficult to apply oneself to a boring job.

要专心致力于一项无聊的工作是很难的。

8. ability

a. ability to do(能做…的)能力

eg: She has the ability to speak English fluently. 她能够流利的说英文。

b. 才能,本领

a man of ability 有才能的人

eg:She has great ability in teaching English (as a singer).

她很有教英文(当歌星)的才干。

9. I’d like to do sth. 我想做……

eg: I’d like to go shopping this weekend. 这个周末我想去购物。

Key phrases and sentences:

Your name, please! 请问,你叫什么名字?

这是缩略句。原句应该是What’s your name, please?

I can speak a little Chinese. 我会说一点儿汉语。

a little 意为“一点儿”

eg. ---- Can you speak English?

---- A little.

a little,little 和a few,few的区别:

虽然都表示“少”,但

(1)few, a few是可数的, little, a little是不可数的。

(2)a few, a little含肯定意味,few, little含否定意味。这里所谓的“肯定意味”和“否定意味”应该这样来理解:同样是半杯水,口渴者会认为:There is little water in the glass. 而不口渴的人则会认为:There is a little water in the glass.

一:

1.few修饰可数。

2.few (= not many; hardly any)含否定意义;a few (= some; several; a small

number of) 含肯定意义。

3.not a few = no few = quite a few = a good few = many。

4.当few受every, last, past, next, some, very等词所修饰时,表示肯定意义,few之前不再有。如:

In the last few minutes, he checked up his paper again.

It took us some few days to repair the machine.

They are very few in number.

There were too few of them.

He goes to see his grandma every few weeks.

5.在非正式文体中很少见,一般用或代替,如:

Only a few people attended the meeting.

另外,little / a little

Little remains to be done about it. (作主语)

A little remains to be done.

Please give me a little. (作宾语)

He knows a little of everything.

There is very / but little time left. (作定语)

Don’t worry; you still have a little time.

1.little修饰,表示“量”。

2.little含否定意义(反义词:much);a little含肯定意义(反义词:none)。

3.在非正式英语中,一般很少用little,常用not much, only a little来代替,如:

We haven’t got much money / time.

Key phrases and sentences:

1. resume意为“简历”。

Eg:Our company gets many resumes each year. 我们工资每年都收到许多份简历。

2. gender意为“性别”,是填写个人信息表格时常见的栏目,回答一般用“male”(男性)或“female”(女性)。

3. ability意为“能力”,一般用于词组“ability to do sth”,意为“能做某事”。

Eg:He has the ability to read and write in English. 他能用英文阅读和写作。

Unit 1:We laughed into tears!(1) 一、学情分析 本单元是学生第二学期的第一单元,话题与学生的假期活动相关。而学生刚从假期中归来,仍沉浸在假期的快乐中。 第一单元的教学内容主要为:能够听懂并谈论假期中的活动;能够看懂关于家庭成员的小故事;能够描述一些已经发生过的有趣的经历;能够掌握并运用一般过去时的肯定式和否定式;能够在朗读时注意句子中的重读音节。本单元的话题虽然亲切,教师仍然要注意运用多种教学手段,并关注每一个学生,在一些教学步骤中采用分层设计,帮助学生达成教学目标。 二、教学目标 1. 知识目标 ⑴帮助学生掌握以下词汇:如ski, mountain, beach, sail, skate, vacation, wonderful, parent等 ⑵帮助学生掌握询问和提供过去的经历所使用的词组和句型. 2. 能力目标 ⑴学生能听懂关于询问和提供过去的经历的对话。 ⑵学生能就过去的经历这一话题进行简单的交流,能够就这一话题询问和提供信息。 3. 情感目标 在真实情景交流中,让学生学会与同伴分享自己的经历,健康快乐地成长。 三、教学步骤 Step One: Lead-in (8mins) 1.The teacher greets each student: Good morning. Activity 1: Tick the activities you did before. After the students has finished it, ask some individuals to tell the whole what they once did by using: I visited the zoo. / I went swimming. / I climbed mountains. (设计意图:在这一活动中,教师不应仅仅局限于让学生完成一个打勾的练习,而是要让他们用语言表达出曾经做过的事情。要说的句子只需在所列出的词组中加上一个I即可,这也让学生更有信心与别人交流。) 4. Activity 2: Listen and match. Get the Ss to do it by themselves without listening.
