Today she showed up in a raincoat. Once shesaw me, Mom called my name
excitedly. Almost everybody present looked in her direction. I swallowed hard, ducked my head and inched towards her, sweat forming in tiny droplets on my forehead. When she tried to cover me with the back of her raincoat. I simply threw it aside.I hated riding with her. Without a single word. I jumped onto the backseat. Minutes later, the rain got heavier and the wind picked up. I felt a wave of panic.
with the badly-oiled chain creaking against the wheel to announce her arrival,
1. I started to feel guilty about my coldness 呼应了材料中的this gave rise to a disturbing
feeling in me和I always felt my face burning,

例如,形容在很饿的情况下看见了食物,你会怎么写?eat it as quickly as possible ,或者ate them within a few minutes。

或者he swallowed the brandy and ate the food like a hunted animal。

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone和Great. Expectations。

It was an early winter morning. Joan was sleeping soundly when the phone rung in the living room. She milled over and glanced at the clock on the wall--it was already nine o'clock. Every weekend morning, her mother had to work part-time in the cafe. Although Joan was still sleepy .she knew she had to get up. After all, she didn't expect her brother Mike, who was sleeping like a log, to hear the phone. She quietly went over to the living room. When she picked up the receiver, on the other end came the warmhearted greetings, “Good morning, my Dear!” Recognizing the voice from her father,Joan was immediately surrounded by a sense of joy and the sleepiness swept away.

Carefully, he stepped over all the broken glass.

Joyfully, he skipped up the street.

But no more helicopters came and it was getting dark again.

Immediately, an absolute darkness ruled the forest.

Curious to know what was inside, he tiptoed into the dark cave.

He was curious to know what was inside, and he tiptoed into the dark cave.Unable to say a word, he was rooted to the spot.

Jane was still asleep when the phone rang in the living room. She opened her sleepy eyes and looked at the clock on the table. It was already nine o’clock! Although Jane was still very sleepy, she knew she had to get up because her mother was working in her office and she couldn’t expect her younger brother Tom, who was always sleeping like a pig, to answer the phone. She quickly put on a coat and ran to the living room. When she picked up the phone, on the other end came the warm greeting, “Good morning!”It was from her father, who was a sailor and rarely came home. Suddenly, Jane’s sleepiness disappeared.Born into a not-so-rich family, Jane and Tom felt the stress of life, but they were happy to enjoy the family atmosphere. At school, they were straight-A students and took part in various after-school activities. They were the pride of the family.“Good morning, Dad. Why are you calling us so early on the weekend?” Jane said, pretending to be annoyed. “Tom and I have been very nice recently.” “My dear, today is your mother’s birthday, and I have ordered a cake online and it will be sent to our home late this afternoon. Do remember to take the cake. It is my surprise for your mother.”Hearing her father’s words, Jane felt a little ashamed. How could she forget her mother’s birthday? While she was chatting with her father, Jane looked around the room and saw a lot of dirty clothes on the sofa. The floor had not been cleaned for days, since her mother had been at work all week. She looked at the clock again and was sure that she still had enough time to prepare a surprise for her mother.“Well, Dad, now I’m going to wake Tom up. When I was in perhaps the third grade, our class took on such an adventure. For several days, we worked on creating paper baskets. We cut colorful stripes of construction paper and wove them together, following our teacher, Miss Anderson. We cut and wove and glued. Then we decorated them with our crayons and more cutting and gluing. Finally, we fitted paper handles onto the tops so that we could secretly hang our creations on the doors of unsuspecting receivers: surely our mothers.

My husband and I enjoy seeing life through the eyes of our children. It’s amazing to watch as they discover their world. While we were outdoors last summer enjoying the sunshine, our oldest daughter, Kaytlin, called me to the doorway. Beneath the steps was a baby red squirrel. We watched it from a distance, not wanting to disturb it or scareoff its mother. But after a long wait - and looking all around our house for signs of a nest or a mother-we realized the tiny squirrel was lost.Shaking terribly, he was weak, thin, and hungry. We tried to findan expert to help, but the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife website showed that there were no wildlife experts in our area. After some quick research, we concluded that the best way to give the squirrel a fighting chance was to care for him ourselves. So a trip to the local store formilk and supplies was in order. More research taught us how much to feed him, how to estimate his age, how and when to wean (断奶)him, and that we should let him go as soon as he could survive on his own.Our daughters and I took turns in feeding “Squirt. ” Kaytlin took on the most responsibility. She taught him to eat from a bottle, and she woke in the night for his feeds. To our relief, Squirt soon became healthy and strong. Within a few weeks he became more active. He would chatter (吱吱叫)for his next meal, playfully go around the girls, and lie down on them for sleep. It wasn't long before he was weaned onto solid food and reintroduced to the wild. His first few visits to the great outdoors were funny. Just like a child, he would play in the grass some and then run back to Kaytlin for safety. Soon she had hi m climbing trees and finding nest material.

A Vacation with My Mother I had an interesting childhood. It was filled with surprise and amusement, all because of my motherloving, sweet, yet absentminded and forgetful. One strange family trip we took when I was elven tells a lot about her. My two sets of grandparents lived in Colorado and North Dakota, and my parents decided to spend a few weeks driving to those states and seeing all the sights along the way. As the first day of our trip approached, David, my eightyearold brother, and I unwillingly said goodbye to all of our friends. Who knew if we would ever see them again? Finally, the moment of our departure arrived, and we loaded suitcases, books, games, camping equipment, and a tent into the car and bravely drove off. We bravely drove off again two hours later after we’d returned home to get the purse and traveler’s checks Mom had forgotten. David and I were always a little nervous when using gas station bathroom if Mom was driving while Dad slept: “You stand outside the door and play lookout (放哨) while I go, and I’ll stand outside the door and play lookout while you go.〞 I had terrible pictures in my mind: “Honey, where are the kids?〞 “What?! Oh, Gosh… I thought they were being awfully quiet.〞 We were never actually left in a strange city, but we were not about to take any chance. On the fourth or fifth night, we had trouble finding a hotel with a vacancy. After driving in vain for some time, Mom suddenly got a great idea: Why didn’t we find a house with a likelylooking backyard and ask if we could set up tent there? David and I became nervous. To our great relief, Dad turned down the idea. Mom never could understand our objections(反对). If a strange family showed up on her front doorstep, Mom would have been delighted. She thinks everyone in the world is as nice as she is. We finally found a vacancy in the next town.

Paragraph 1: The next day we remembered the brandnew tent we had brought with us.

Paragraph 2: We drove through several states and saw lots of great sights along the way.

1. My mother’s forgetfulness filled our life with much surprise and amusement. 2. During a family trip, my family had to go back to fetch our purse and traveler’s checks as my mother forgot to bring them. 3. She advised us to put up a tent in a stranger’s family, because she thought others were as nice as herself. But my father turned down the idea. we finally spent a night in a hotel.

Version 1 The next day we remembered the brandnew tent we had brought with

us. Mom insisted that we should make full use of it since we had brought it. David and I looked at Dad, hoping he could stop her crazy idea. To our great disappointment, he agreed. We spent a whole afternoon seeking a nice camping place and set up out tent before the night fell. It was the first time that I had thought Mom could be wise as I was admiring our tent. “Oh, I forgot the pillows!〞 What a misconception! Regardless of my neck pain, we had some great nights.

We drove through several states and saw lots of great sights along the way. The bright blue sky, the endless green grass, groups of sheep, the setting sun and the countless stars in the curtain of nights kept me spellbound. Not only did we see the picturesque scenery, we also managed to consider Mom’s scandals as a kind of fun. I really love my mom.

To our relief, we arrived at grandparents’ place and went back to our home with all of four people. It was so fortunate to see my friends again.

02 Version 2 The next day we remembered the brandnew tent we had brought with

us. “We’re not going to stay in hotels any more.〞 Mom suddenly said, with a firm tone, “Or our tent would be of no use.〞 With all our objections in vain, we finally stopped at the front doorstep of a house with a big backyard. To our surprise, it was a much better experience than we had imagined. David and I had a great time trying all the camping equipment and Mom was chatting happily with the kind family. Though we didn’t have the tools for cooking since Mom was so forgetful, we still had a good meal as there truly was someone who was as nice as mom was.
