Thank you for your last e-mail. Let me tell you what we did on 5th March in our school. We, the volunteers went to the old people’s home and did many things there.

When the old people saw us, they were very happy. We gave them lots of flowers and fruit. We did cleaning for them. After that we talked with them happily. Some of us sang great songs for them. And others danced. They told us old stories. All of us had a good time there.

I felt happy that I cared for the old people and showed our respect for them. If I have another chance to go there, I will take it.

On Saturday morning, I got up at about seven o’clock. After breakfast, I went to the store and bought some food for my family. I like doing the shopping because it’s interesting. On Sunday morning, I did some washing for my family. Although Ii hated washing, I had to do it because my mother looked too busy. I should help her do chores.

My English Study

How time flies! I have been a junior high school student for two years. Looking back, I have many memories of my English study.

When I became a junior high school student, I had so many difficulties with my English. I was not able to understand the teacher in class, and I couldn’t remember English words. For a time I wanted to give it up. Later, with the help of the teacher and my classmates, I listened to the teacher carefully in class, kept on reading English every day and spoke English as much as possible. Step by step I made great progress in English.

In a word, only when you develop interest in studying English can you learn it well.

I’ve been to Xiamen several times. It’s really a beautiful city. I fell in love with it when I met it for the first time. It has many nice places of interests. The traffic is fine, and the people are friendly. There are many beautiful parks like the Zhong Shan Park. In the zoo, you can see many kinds of animals. You can easily buy what you want, because there are supermarkets everywhere. You can see tall buildings along the streets. Trees can be seen here and there. My Favorite Writer—Lu Xun

Lu Xun is my favorite writer. He is one of the most famous writers in China. He wrote a lot of works. He was thin and not tall and always wore a long old coat in that time.

I like Lu Xun because I also want to be a great wrier like him. I like reading and writing, and I often write some articles in my free time. Though I don’t have good talent in writing, I spend lots of time reading and writing to improve my writing skills.

I’m a fan of Lu Xun. I’ll learn more from him. I believe I can be a great writer in

the future.

Here is my advice. On the one hand, the teacher should less our homework so that we can have more time to read. On the other hand, it’s a good idea to set up reading clubs and learn from each other.
