in Chinese means the 12th lunar month and "ba" means eight. Legends about the origin of this festivity abound. One holds that over 3,000 years ago sacrificial rites called "La "(腊) were held in the twelfth lunar month when people offered their preys to the gods of heaven and earth. The Chinese characters for prey (猎物) and the twelfth month (腊) were interchangeable then, and ever since "La" has been used to refer to both. Since the festival was held on the eighth day of the Last month, people later appended the number eight ("ba" in Chinese), giving us the current Laba . The majority Han Chinese have long followed the tradition of eating Laba rice porridge on the Laba Festival. The date usually falls in midJanuary.

指导思想与理论依据 1. 《Unit 3 Can you tell me more about the Mid-Autumn Festival?》一课是围绕中国传统节日中秋节开展的教学课程,学生的学习就有了生活实践做为学习背景。《义务教育英语课程标准(2011年版)》中的课程基本理念指出:现代外语教育注重语言学习的过程,强调语言学习的实践性,主张学生在语境中接触、体验和理解真实语言,并在此基础上学习和运用语言。尽可能多地为学生创造在真实语境中运用语言的机会。教师因而选择本课的教学内容进行设计,整课紧紧围绕“节日”展开,语言情境真实而自然。 2.《义务教育英语课程标准(2011年版)》分级标准的文化意识中指出:能初步用英语介绍祖国的主要节日和典型的文化习俗。在运用拓展环节,教师设计了为外教Ramon介绍中国节日的活动,使学生将自己熟知的节日介绍给国际友人,学以致用的同时提高了学生兴趣及自豪感。 2

教学背景分析 1. 教学内容: (1)单元整体分析 本单元是北京版小学英语五年级上册第三单元Can you tell me more about the Mid-Autumn Festival? 单元主要谈论主题是中西方节日。本单元由四课时组成。前两课时以中国传统节日为主,第三课时以西方英语国家传统节日为主,第四课时则是中西方传统节日的对比学习。 本单元将重点学习中西方节日的相关知识,一是学习相关的专有表达法,如 the Mid-Autumn Festival、Chongyang cake等词汇;二是学习介绍传统节日的日期,阳历和阴历表达方式是不同的;三是学生在介绍特色饮食及传统活动时,需要学生有丰富的文化知识和基础以及相关的表达能力。 (2)本课内容分析 本节课为单元第一课时Lesson 9. 主要谈论的是中秋节,学习重点是中国传统节日日期的表达法。教师以思维导图的形式,通过对课文中秋节的梳理,以春节为例,最后让学生给外教介绍中秋节,端午节和元宵节。 2. 学生情况: 本次授课对象为五年级学生。学生一二三年级学习的为北师大版英语教材,四年级更换的北京版教材,经过一年的使用,基本熟悉了京版教材板块。但教材衔接上还存在知识断层现象,如一至三年级北京版教材已学过一些与节日相关的内容。三年级应接触过有关节日这一话题,如五一劳动节、国庆节等。但这届学生没有系统学习。他们在四年级下册学过端午节的日期表达法,食物和活动,重点句型也涉及到了春节和元宵节的活动。学生对端午节的相关信息已经比较了解,这节课主要介绍中秋节,因涉及阳历和阴历的一些知识,学生理解上会存在困难。 3. 教学方式: 本课主要采用探讨互动的方式。在探讨过程中,教师引导学生通过感知、参与和小组合作等学习方法完成任务,感受成功。在教师的指导下达到本课的最终教学目标。 4. 教学手段: 通过与信息技术学科整合,教师利用自制视频,让学生了解一些中国传统节日的信息。通过多媒体动画移动日期,让Lingling全家人去爷爷家聚会等,降低本课难点。 5. 技术准备: 本课在多媒体教室授课,利用自制PPT、节日海报等。 3
