1The Moon Represents My Heart Book ReviewHi everyone! Today I want to tell you all about one of my favorite books called "The Moon Represents My Heart" by Pim Wangtechawat. It's a really cool book from Thailand that my teacher read to us in class. The book is about a family of four - a mom, a dad, an older son named Tan, and a younger son named Mui. They live in a little house in Thailand near the countryside. Tan is the main character and he really loves looking at the moon. Whenever he sees the full moon, he feels happy and peaceful inside. One day, Tan's mom gets really sick. The family doesn't have much money, so they can't afford to take her to the hospital in the city. Tan's dad has to go away to work at a factory to try and earn more money for her medicine. While he's gone, Tan has to take care of his little brother Mui and his very sick mom all by himself. It's really hard for him.Tan tries his best, but his mom keeps getting sicker and sicker. He's so worried about her. The only thing that makes him feel better is looking up at the full moon at night. He pretends the moon is his mom smiling down at him, which makes him feel loved. That's why the title is "The Moon Represents My Heart" - because the moon represents Tan's love for his mom.Soon, Tan's mom is so sick that she has to go to the hospital. But the family can't afford for her to stay there. The doctors say she might die without the right medicine and care. Tan is completely heartbroken. He doesn't know what to do.That's when something amazing happens. Tan's teacher and all the other students and their families from his school gather together. They take up a collection and donate all their extra money to help pay for Tan's mom's hospital stay! Tan is so touched that his community came together to help his family like that. With the money raised, Tan's mom is able to get the medicine and treatment she needs at the hospital. After many weeks, she starts getting stronger and healthier again. Tan is overjoyed and so grateful. When his mom finally comes home, Tan buys her a beautiful moon necklace to symbolize how the moon represented his heart and love for her when she was sick. The end of the book is really happy and beautiful. Tan's mom makes a full recovery, and the family is reunited again. It shows how love, community, and looking on the bright side can get you through even the toughest times.I loved this book so much! The story was sad at times, but also so inspiring. It made me appreciate my own family and community more. Tan is such a good big brother to Mui, and an amazing son too for working so hard to take care of his mom. I admire how brave and loving he is.The descriptions of the countryside in Thailand are gorgeous too. The author really makes you feel like you're there. And I love how the moon is like its own character that provides Tan comfort when times are hard. The moon represents hope, love and resilience. The themes about family, community, hardship, and staying positive really resonated with me. I think kids and adults alike can learn a lot from this heartwarming book. It's sad but uplifting at the same time. I'd give it 500 out of 5 stars! If you haven't read "The Moon Represents My Heart" yet, I super duper recommend it! It's an instant classic full of lovable characters and an inspiring message. Books like this are why Ilove reading so much. Let me know if you check it out and what you think!篇2The Moon Represents My Heart by Yeong-hee Lee Book ReviewHi everyone! Today I want to tell you all about one of my favorite books called The Moon Represents My Heart by Yeong-hee Lee. It's a really cool book from Korea about a boy named Suni and his family. I really loved reading it!The book starts off with Suni living in the countryside of Korea with his mom and dad. His dad is a farmer who grows crops like rice and vegetables. Suni is a typical 8 year old kid - he loves playing outside, catching critters, and having fun with his best friend Bongsu. But then something sad happens. Suni's dad gets very sick and has to go to the hospital in the city far away. His mom goes with him to take care of him. That leaves poor Suni all alone on the farm! He has to take care of himself and do all the farm chores like feeding the animals and crops. It's a lot of hard work for a little kid.Suni misses his mom and dad so much. At night, he looks up at the bright moon and talks to it, pretending it's his mom. He tells the moon all his problems and how much he misses his parents. The moon helps him feel not so alone. While his parents are gone, Suni has to be really brave. There's a mean ill-tempered ox named Calngi that gives him a lot of trouble. Suni is terrified of Calngi and his sharp horns! There's also a sneaky weasel that keeps trying to steal Suni's crops. On top of that, Suni has to deal with bullies at school who pick on him for being poor and not having parents around. But Suni doesn't give up. He works really hard on the farm, protects his crops from animals, and stands up to the bullies. And he keeps talking to the moon every night when he's sad or scared. The moon gives him courage. After many months of being apart, Suni's dad gets better and returns home with his mom! Suni is so happy to have his family back together. But he'll never forget the lessons he learned by himself on the farm. He grew up a lot and isn't a little kid anymore. The moon helped give him the strength to get through the hard times. That's just a quick summary, but there's so much more to the story! The book has great descriptions of the beautiful Koreancountryside and all the fun adventures Suni goes on. There are some really sad parts too that made me cry. But overall it's an inspiring book about a young boy becoming brave and independent.I think kids will love reading about Suni's journey and all the exciting challenges he faces. Parents will also enjoy the lessons about family, hard work, and having courage during difficult times. The Moon Represents My Heart is full of emotion, humor, and wisdom. If you get a chance, I super duper recommend you read this awesome book! It's one of my favorites for sure. A story about a young boy connected to the moon is pretty special if you ask me. Let me know if you check it out!篇3My Book Report on "The Moon Represents My Heart"Have you ever looked up at the night sky and felt small? Or big? That's how I felt when I read the novel "The Moon Represents My Heart" by Yeong-hee Lim. It's a book that made me think about big things like family, love, and even the whole universe! The story follows a young girl named Tong-Tong. She lives in a small village in Korea during the late 1700s. Tong-Tong's father died when she was very little, so she lives with her mom and older brother. Her family is quite poor, but Tong-Tong doesn't really mind. She loves looking up at the moon and stars at night. One day, Tong-Tong's beloved brother has to leave home to take an important test in the city. He hopes to pass and become a government official. Tong-Tong is very sad to see him go. While he's away, some terrible things happen in the village. A drought causes crops to fail, and many people don't have enough food. Tong-Tong's mother gets very sick.Tong-Tong feels alone and scared without her brother there. She starts talking to the moon each night, telling it all her worries and hopes. The moon becomes like a friend to her. Tong-Tong believes that the moon can carry her messages to her brother far away. She asks it to keep him safe. After many months, Tong-Tong's brother returns home. He did very well on the test and has become a minor official. But he comes home to find his village in terrible shape from the drought and famine. Tong-Tong is so happy to have her brother back, but she is still very worried about her sick mother. The family decides to move to a bigger city where the brother has a new job. Tong-Tong is sad to leave her beloved village behind. On the journey, her mother's health gets even worse. Tong-Tong keeps looking up at the moon each night for comfort. She believes the moon's gentle light is giving her mother strength to go on.When they finally arrive in the new city, Tong-Tong's mother is so ill that she must go to a hospital. Tong-Tong is terribly afraid her mother won't make it. She feels all alone again, even with her brother nearby. But she finds hope by watching the moon at night and talking to it. The moon reminds her that life goes on, even when things seem darkest.I don't want to spoil the ending for you! But I can say that Tong-Tong's special connection to the moon helps give her the strength and wisdom to go through a very difficult time. The moon's gentle, steady light is a symbol of hope and resilience throughout the book. What I loved most about this story is how Tong-Tong turns to the moon as a friend when she feels most alone. The moon becomes a way for her to express her thoughts and feelings during hard times. Even though the moon can't actually talk back,Tong-Tong finds great comfort just by looking up at it each night. For me, that's a beautiful reminder to pause and appreciate the natural wonders around us, like the moon and stars. They have been around for millions of years and will continue long after we're gone. Thinking about that made my own daily worries feel smaller and more manageable.I also loved learning about daily life in an older period of Korean history. The descriptions of Tong-Tong's village, the food, clothes, and customs were fascinating. It was cool to get a window into a world from so long ago that feels both similar and different to today. The story has some very sad parts when terrible things happen to Tong-Tong and her family. I'll admit, I cried a few times while reading it! But the main message of hope, resilience, and looking to nature for strength really stuck with me.So if you're looking for a heartwarming yetthought-provoking book, I highly recommend "The Moon Represents My Heart." It's a touching story about a young girl's journey through very difficult times. And it's sprinkled with beautiful insights about the natural world and our place in the universe - all inspired by the humble yet awesome moon!篇4The Moon Represents My Heart by Wei PuaoOne day, my teacher Mrs. Smith told us we would read a really cool book called "The Moon Represents My Heart." She said it was written by a Chinese author named Wei Puao. I had never heard of him before, but I was excited to read the book! The book is about a little girl named Xiao Mei who lives in China during World War 2. That was a really bad time when many countries were fighting each other in a huge war. Xiao Mei's father has to go fight in the war, so she has to live with her mom and grandma. At first, Xiao Mei is really sad that her dad is gone. She misses him so much! But her mom tells her to look at the moon whenever she feels that way. Her mom says the moon represents her dad's heart, and as long as they can see the moon, it means her dad is okay and still loves them.Xiao Mei starts looking at the moon every night. She talks to it like it's her dad. She tells the moon about her day and all her feelings. Doing this makes her feel closer to her dad, even though he is far away fighting. While her dad is gone, Xiao Mei has to grow up really fast. She has to help her mom and grandma with chores around the house and on their little farm. It's a lot of hard work for a little kid! But Xiao Mei is very brave and strong. Some nights, the war gets really close to their village. They have to hide in their basement to stay safe from the bombs. Xiao Mei is so scared during those times! But she always looks at the moon and remembers her dad loves her. The moon gives her courage. One day, some enemy soldiers come to their village and start being mean to everyone. Xiao Mei gets really mad and does something very brave to make them go away. I don't want to spoil it, but it's really cool! After that, Xiao Mei's dad finally comes home from the war. He is hurt, but he is so happy to see his daughter again. Xiao Mei is overjoyed to have her dad back. She realizes that talking to the moon and thinking about her dad's heart really helped her stay strong while he was away. The end of the book is very happy. Xiao Mei's family is back together and the war is over. Whenever Xiao Mei looks at the moon, she remembers the journey she went on and how much the moon's light helped her during the difficult times.Overall, I thought The Moon Represents My Heart was an awesome book! It really shows how strong and brave kids can be, even when facing huge challenges like war. The way the moon represents Xiao Mei's connection to her dad is so beautiful. The book teaches lessons about courage, hope, and family. Even though it takes place during a sad time in history, the story has a lot of inspiring moments that make you feel good inside. Xiao Mei is such an amazing character to look up to.I'm really glad Mrs. Smith had our class read this book. I think kids and adults alike can learn a lot from Xiao Mei's powerful story of staying strong during difficult times by looking to the moon and keeping her father's heart close. It's definitely a book I'll never forget!篇5Moon Represents My Heart Movie SummaryHi friends! Today I'm going to tell you all about one of my favorite movies called "Moon Represents My Heart". It's a really cool movie from China that came out in 2022. Get ready because there's a lot of exciting stuff that happens! The movie is about a young girl named Gu Xiaoxi who is in the 6th grade. Xiaoxi is kind of a shy kid and doesn't have toomany friends at her school. One day, her mom gets a new job in a different city, so Xiaoxi has to move away and start at a brand new school. That would be pretty scary for any kid!At her new school, Xiaoxi meets a group of friendly students who invite her to join their music club. The club is led by a popular girl named Yao Yao. Even though Xiaoxi doesn't know how to play any instruments, the others still welcome her. That was really nice of them!Xiaoxi soon becomes best friends with a girl named Tong Xiaolan. Xiaolan is super talented at playing the guzheng, which is a cool traditional Chinese instrument with lots of strings. Xiaolan shows Xiaoxi how to play the guzheng and teaches her about different musical styles. The students in the club decide they want to put on a huge concert at the end of the school year as their big project. But there's one big problem - their club doesn't have enough money to rent all the equipment and costumes they need for the concert. Oh no!So Xiaoxi, Xiaolan, Yao Yao and the others come up with a plan to raise funds. They decide to take part-time jobs and save up their earnings. Xiaoxi gets a job delivering food on her bicycle. Xiaolan works at a grocery store. And Yao Yao helps out at herparents' restaurant. It's a lot of hard work on top of their school studies, but the friends keep going because they really want their concert to be amazing. While they're working hard, Xiaoxi learns that her family may have to move cities again because of her mom's job. She gets really upset because she doesn't want to leave her new friends and the music club behind. The thought of moving makes Xiaoxi lose her motivation and she stops showing up for club practice. Her friend Xiaolan comes to talk to her and convinces Xiaoxi that she can't give up on her dreams just because of a possible move. Xiaolan says "The moon represents my heart - no matter how far we travel, we'll always be connected under the same moon." Those wise words from Xiaolan inspire Xiaoxi to keep going with the music club. After many months of planning and practice, it's finally time for the big concert! The students have raised enough money, and the show is a huge success. All of their families come to watch, and everyone has an awesome time listening to the different musical performances. At the end, Xiaoxi finds out that her family doesn't have to move away after all. She's so relieved and happy that she'll get to stay with her new best friends.
