本课型为词汇教学课，创编与vacation相关的语篇学习材料，融入本单元目标单词和重点句型是首要任务。

教师通过故事人物小清的清明节三天假期计划，巧妙地把本单元八个目标单词：surf the internet, play with friends, read books, have a picnic, make models, take photos, help dad, visit relatives和将来时态融入到语篇材料中。

学生在语篇的主题语境中初步感知词义和词汇的句法环境，为词汇的进一步学习和运用铺垫。

2. 基于语篇主题意义的探究，通过问题的解决，呈现语言知识在学习前的环节中，引导学生讨论与本课时主题有关的问题，调动学生的背景知识，把学生的已有知识和即将学习的新知识自然地联系起来，以激活他们对主题的兴趣，调动他们学习的积极性。

在此基础上呈现与主题相关的语篇学习材料，通过问题的引领，自然地引出本单元的目标词汇和重点句型。

本课时一开始借助清明节图片探讨主题意义的理解，通过询问学生“Do you know Qingming festival?”“What do you know about it?”让学生在已有知识上回答出“Yes.”，“It’s on April 5th. ”，“We have 3 days vacation.”，“The vacation is from April 5th to April 7th.”等等。
