(24)3D Scanner Exploded ViewIntroductionThese assembly instructions will cover the mechanical assembly, programming and basic use of the Sweep 3D scanner add-on.Tools Required (not Included)-Soldering Iron and Solder-Wire Stripper-Small Philips Head Screw Driver- 2.5mm Hex Key with Ball End3D Printing the Enclosure PartsThe three main enclosure parts and the cable clip are intended to be printable using a consumer desktop FDM (fused deposition modeling) style printer. You should get functional results when printing using a 0.2mm layer height. We have oriented the available STL files in the direction we have found they print best with the least amount of support material. We found that 20-30% infill works well. Our test parts were made using standard ABS filament, but PLA or other materials can work too (with PLA you need to worry about the parts melting in a hot car). You can also have these parts printed by a service like Sculpteo or Shapeways, but it will cost much more.Difficult to make parts: The last 3D printed part – the custom Light Pipe, is intended to be printed using a clear resin with an SLA style printer. We realize this may not be as commonly accessible to most people, which is why we are offering a kit of parts for sale that includes all the 3D printed parts.3D Scanner Kit ContentsWe have assembled all the parts you need to make this project in one convenient kit. It includes about 60 parts, including the five necessary 3D printed parts. The 3D printed parts are made of black ABS, and are printed at 0.2mm layer heights. The one clear component is printed using SLA technology. The only thing not included in the kit is a Sweep sensor. The kit is available for purchase on our website: http://scanse.io/3d-scanning-kit/Our 3D scanner kit includes everything you need to build this 3D scanner, except for tools listed above Test Fit All PartsWhen working with 3D prints, it is common for slight inaccuracies to be present. Use a small tool such asa screw driver to remove all support material and small defects.Step 1. Install Bearings in CoverParts Needed:-(3) 8MM OD, 3MM ID, 3MM Wide Bearings-(3) M3 X 8MM Socket Head Cap Screws-P0087 – Spherical Scanner Cover, Square 3D printed partMake sure screw holes are clear of support material. Strip off the outer rubber shield of the cable using a wire stripper blade. Separate the red (power) and black (ground) wires from the rest, and cut the other color wires back around 20mm (3/4 inch). Strip approximately 6mm (1/4 inch) of shielding off the ends of the black and red wires.Remove the backing on the exposed side of the double-sided tape attached to the connector and slide the clip and cable into the Raspberry pi. Stick the connector to the top of the Ethernet port as shown. Slide a 25mm (1inch) piece of 3.5mm (1/8 inch) diameter heat shrink tubing over the end of the cut wire, leaving the red and black wires poking out. Shrink in place, so that the exposed cable shielding is covered.Insert the cable’s red lead into the motor HAT screw terminal which read’s “+ power”, and the cable’s black lead into the motor HAT screw terminal which reads “– power”. Tighten the screw terminals as shown.Step 6. Install Bubble Spirit LevelParts Needed:-14mm Circular Bubble Spirit Level-P0087 – Spherical Scanner Cover, Square 3D printed part.-Super GlueStart by finding a flat level surface (you can use the spirit level to check for this). Insert the spirit level into the scanner cover as shown. Then put the scanner cover on the flat level surface. Next use your fingers or a small tool like a screw driver to adjust the position of the spirit level in the hole until the bubble sits in the center when the scanner cover is sitting flat on the level table.Put a few beads of glue around the spirit level and let it dry in a level position.Step 7. Install Raspberry Pi AssemblyParts Needed:-(4) Steel Thread Rolling Screw for Plastic, Zinc Plated, Pan Head, Phillips Drive, #2-28 Thread Size, 3/4" Length-(2) Nylon Unthreaded Spacers 3/16" OD, 7/16" Length, for Number 2 Screw Size-P0087 – Spherical Scanner Cover, Square 3D printed part.Insert the Nylon spacers between Raspberry Pi and Motor Hat mounting holes on the side next to the screw terminals, while inserting the screws through them as shown.IMPORTANT: WHEN INSTALLING THE RASPBERRY PI ASSEMBLY INTO THE COVER, YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE SD CARD. Main PC Board3.2Ambient TemperatureThe Sensing head can operate in an ambient temperature of 0 to 70°C (32to 158°F). The Sensing head in the high temperature model (-HT) can operate in an ambient temperature of 0 to 85°C (32 to 185°F) without any cooling required. The Sensing head can operate up to 200°C (392°F) using the water cool jacket accessory OS100-WC (See Fig. 3-6).There is a warm up period of 3 minutes after power up. After the warm up period, temperature measurement can be made. When the ambient temperature around the sensor head changes abruptly, the sensor head goes through thermal shock. It takes a certain amount of time for the sensor head to stabilize to the new ambient temperature. For example, it takes about 30 minutes for the sensor head to stabilize going from 25°C to 50°C (77 to 122°F) ambient temperature. The sensor head dimensions are shown in Fig. 3-2.Figure 3-2. Sensor Housing3-23-33.3Atmospheric QualityEnvironments with smoke, dust, and fumes dirty up the optical lens, and cause erroneous temperature readings. To keep the surface of the optical lens clean, the air purge collar accessory is recommended, OS100-AP , See Fig. 3-7.3.4Measuring TemperatureBefore starting to measure temperature, make sure that the following check list is met:ߜ The power and analog output connections are made (Fig. 2-1).ߜThe sensor head is connected to the main unit.ߜThe slide switch (SW1) on the main board is set to real time (Fig. 3-1).ߜThe target is larger than the optical field of view of the sensor head (Fig. 3-3).ߜThe emissivity adjustment on the main board is set properly (Fig. 3-1).ߜThe output load is within the product specification. On OS102 transmitters, follow these additional steps:ߜ The temperature display is set to °F or °C (Fig. 3-4)ߜ For 4-20mA output models, make sure an output load is added, ie. 250ohms.Figure 3-3. Optical Field Of ViewFigure 3-4. Setting the Temperature Engineering Unit3.5Alarm SettingThe unit provides 0-100% alarm set point adjustment. Here is an exampleof an alarm setting.• An OS101-MA(4/20 mA output), the alarm is to be set at 400°Ftemperature.• Connect the alarm output as shown in Fig. 2-2.• Set the slide switch (SW1) on the main board to the Alarm position.• Measure the analog output, and set the Potentiometer P4 until theoutput reads 10.4 mA which is 40% (400°F) of the temperature range.40 x (20-4)[10.4mA=+ 4]100• Set the slide switch (SW1) back to the Real Time position.• If the temperature reading is below the alarm set point, the alarmoutput stays high, otherwise it goes low.On the OS102, you can set the alarm set point directly based on thetemperature display.3.6Adding Extension CableYou can add extension cable between the Sensor Head and the mainelectronic housing up to 15.2 m (50 feet). After adding the extension cable, the Zero input potentiometer, P3 may be re-adjusted. In the advanced position, the dimension must be extended accordingly.H- -NoteIf the axis is subjected to two or more of the indicated forces and torques simulta-neously, the following equation must be satisfied in addition to the indicated maximum loads:Calculating the load comparison factor:F 1/M 1 = dynamic value F 2/M 2 = maximum valueFor a guide system to have a service life of 5x 106 cycles, the load comparison factor must have a value of fv š 1, based on the maximum permissible forces and torques for a service life of 5x 106 cycles. This formula can be used to calculate a guide value. The engineering software "Electric Motion Sizing" is availablefor more precise calculations a /x/electric-motion-sizingCalculating the service lifeThe service life of the guide depends on the load. To be able to make a statement as to the service life of the guide, the graph below plots the load comparison factor fv against the service life. These values are only theoretical. You must consult your local Festo contact for a load comparison factor fv greater than 1.Load comparison factor fv as a function of service life lExample:A user wants to move an x kg load. Using the formula (a page 11) gives avalue of 1.5 for the load comparison factor fv. According to the graph, the guidehas a service life of approx. 1.5x 106 cycles. Reducing the acceleration reducesthe My and Mz values. A load comparison factor fv of 1 now gives a service life of5 x 106cycles.Comparison of the characteristic load values for 5 x 106 cycles with dynamic forces and torques of recirculating ball bearing guidesThe characteristic load values of the bearing guides are standardised to ISO and JIS using dynamic and static forces and torques. These forces and torques are based on an expected service life of the guide system of 100 km to ISO or 50 km to JIS.As the characteristic load values are dependent on the service life, the maximum permissible forces and torques for a 5000 km service life cannot be compared with the dynamic forces and torques of bearing guides to ISO/JIS.To make it easier to compare the guide capacity of mini slides EGSC with roller guides, the table below lists the theoretically permissible forces and torques for a calculated service life of 100 km. This corresponds to the dynamic forces and torques to ISO.These 100 km values have been calculated mathematically and are only to be used for comparing with dynamic forces and torques to ISO. The drives must notbe loaded with these characteristic values as this could damage the axes.Speed v as a function of stroke l Size 25Size 32l [mm]v [m /s ]2550751001251501752000.10.20.30.40.50.60.70.8l [mm]v [m /s ]2550751001251501752000.10.20.30.40.50.60.70.8EGSC-BS-KF-25-2P EGSC-BS-KF-25-6PEGSC-BS-KF-32-3P EGSC-BS-KF-32-8PSize 45Size 60l [mm]v [m /s ]2550751001251501752000.10.20.30.40.50.60.70.8l [mm]v [m /s ]2550751001251501752000.10.20.30.40.50.60.70.8EGSC-BS-KF-45-3P EGSC-BS-KF-45-10P EGSC-BS-KF-60-5P EGSC-BS-KF-60-12PFeed force F as a function of input torque M Size 25Size 32M [Nm]F [N ]0.010.020.030.040.050.060510********M [Nm]F [N ]0.020.040.060.080.10.120.14010203040506070EGSC-BS-KF-25-2P EGSC-BS-KF-25-6PEGSC-BS-KF-32-3P EGSC-BS-KF-32-8PM [Nm]M [Nm]0.10.20.30.40.50.60.70.80.9EGSC-BS-KF-45-3P EGSC-BS-KF-45-10P EGSC-BS-KF-60-5P EGSC-BS-KF-60-12PFeed force F as a function of service life lEGSC-BS-KF-25EGSC-BS-KF-32EGSC-BS-KF-45EGSC-BS-KF-60Deflection f of the guide rail as a function of stroke llFyfylFz fzFy/Fz at which the characteristic curves were determined EGSC-BS-KF-25: 10 N EGSC-BS-KF-32: 20 N EGSC-BS-KF-45: 40 N EGSC-BS-KF-60: 60 NDeflection fyDeflection fzEGSC-BS-KF-25EGSC-BS-KF-32EGSC-BS-KF-45EGSC-BS-KF-60Mini slides EGSC-BS AccessoriesH--NoteDepending on the combination of motor and drive, it may not be possible to reach the maximum feed force of the drive. When using parallel kits, the respective no-load driving torque of the kit must be taking into consideration1) The input torque must not exceed the maximum permissible transferable torque of the axial kit.21 2023/08 – Subject to change d I nternet: /catalogue/...Mini slides EGSC-BSAccessories1) The input torque must not exceed the max. permissible transferable torque of the parallel kit.22d I nternet: /catalogue/...Subject to change – 2023/08Mini slides EGSC-BS AccessoriesProfile mounting EAHF-L2-...-P-SFor mounting the slide on the side of the profile•Material:Anodised wrought aluminium alloyRoHS-compliant23 2023/08 – Subject to change d I nternet: /catalogue/...Mini slides EGSC-BS AccessoriesProfile mounting EAHF-L2-...-P Material:Anodised wrought aluminium alloy RoHS-compliant • For mounting the slide on the side of the profile. The profile mounting can be attached to the mounting surface using the drilledhole in the centre24d I nternet: /catalogue/...Subject to change – 2023/08Mini slides EGSC-BS AccessoriesSwitch lug EAPM-...-SLS For sensing using inductive proximity switches SIES-8M Material: Galvanised steelRoHS-compliantSensor bracket EAPM-L2Material:Anodised wrought aluminium alloyRoHS-compliantDimensions and ordering data25 2023/08 – Subject to change d I nternet: /catalogue/...26d I nternet: /catalogue/...Subject to change – 2023/08Mini slides EGSC-BSAccessoriesOrdering data – Centring sleeveDE A1) Packaging unitMini slides EGSC-BS Accessories27 2023/08 – Subject to change d I nternet: /catalogue/...Festo - Your Partner in AutomationConnect with us/socialmedia 1Festo Inc.2Festo Pneumatic 3Festo Corporation 4Regional Service Center 5300 Explorer DriveMississauga, ON L4W 5G4CanadaAv. Two rows of hardened steel balls on both sides of the base provide the smooth, accurate, low friction sliding motion between the stationary base and the top slide. Each row of bearings is contained between four hardened and precision ground steel rods. These bearing assemblies are factory preloaded to eliminate wobble and unwanted play in the system.Ball slides are functionally much more reliable than simple dovetail slides, since there is no direct sliding contact of the top and bottom members. Ball slides eliminate the rapid wear problems, regular lubrication requirements, and “stiction” (skipping and jumping caused by the increased force needed to initiate movement) characteristic of dovetail slides. Parker also offers a high load capacity, long life crossed roller slides for applications requiring maximum load and life performance.Standard FeaturesAll models offer high quality construction features as standard:• Straight line accuracy of 0.00008 inches per inch of travel (0.00025 inches per inch of travel for miniatures)• Precision machined mounting surfaces to assure flatness and parallelism• Factory preloaded to precision specifications toeliminate any side play and provide a uniform coefficient of friction• Factory threaded mounting holes on the top for easy payload mounting• Factory machining services for special hole configurations and custom modifications• Locking thread inserts on preloaded screws for maintenance-free life without loss of preload• Hardened and precision machined 440C stainless steel balls and rodsHow to OrderUse the overview chart on the following page to select the appropriate ball slide. For loads which are offset from thisInverted Loaddirection.Moment LoadThis refers to forces which are offset (cantilevered) from the bearingproducing uneven loading on themeans that some bearings are supporting more of the load than others. For this reason it is very important to determine if the moment loading for a given positioner is within acceptable limits. These moment forces are categorized by the direction they act in Pitch, Roll or Yaw; see diagram at left. When loading results in moments acting in only one of the moment directions (pitch, roll or yaw) it is called a single direction moment. Examples of this type of loading are shown below. How to calculate the maximum allowable moment load is discussed on the following page.Pitch MomentThrust CapacityThrust capacity is the maximum force or load which can be applied in T a and T b Fine Screw and Differential Screw DrivesWith these types of drives the mounting surface or stage carriage is pressed against the drive mechanism by means of a spring. Because of this the maximum thrust which the stage assembly can maintain is different when pressing toward the spring or away from it. When pressing toward the spring, the force is taken up by the drive mechanism (i.e. micrometer). While pulling away, the force is being held in place by the spring. Stages with this type of mechanism have two thrust capacity specifications (T a and T b ). Tarefers to the load capacity against the micrometer and Tb is the spring load capacity. Refer to specific product drawings for load direction.Screw Drive Thrust CapacityStages which use screw drive assemblies will only have one thrust capacity rating. This rating is for either direction of travel.Straight Line and Flatness AccuracyThis is the amount of error a linear positioner deviates from an ideal straight line. The straight line accuracy is the error in the horizontal plane while flatness is the error in the vertical are measured at the moving carriage surface center.Engineering ReferenceParker Hannifin CorporationElectromechanical & Drives Division134/emnCalculating Maximum Allowable Moment Loads on Linear Slides and StagesTo determine if a load or force is within acceptable moment load ranges follow the steps below:1. Calculate maximum load and or force which will be applied to the positioner. Include brackets and other axes which are mounted to the positioner.2. Locate the center of gravity of the load.3. Determine if there is a single or compound moment.4. Measure the distance from the center of force or C.G. to the center of the linear stage carriage. This is the moment arm length and is designated A s for single direction moments and A c for compound moments.5. Locate the moment load graph for the positioner you are interested in (located in back of individual product section, esee example below). The X axis of the graph is the Force, the Y axis is the allowable moment arm A s for single direction moments.6. Locate the moment curve(s) which your load is acting in (pitch, roll or yaw).7. Locate your load force on the X axis of the graph.8. Draw a vertical line from the Force location on the X axis parallel with the Y axis.9. Find the moment arm distance on the Y axis. Draw a horizontal line from this point parallel with the X axis until the vertical and horizontal lines intersect.10.If the intersection point is below the moment curve in question then the stage is within acceptable limits. If the intersection point is above the moment curve, a positioner with a larger normal load capacity should be selected and the above steps repeated.Yaw & PitchRollForce (N)Moment Arm(mm)4500 / M45004500-DM / M4500-DM050100150200250300350050100150。
