如何让学生乐学英语?
一、让学生明确学习目的,端正学习态度
态度决定一切。
有什么目的和态度就会有什么结果,就是所谓种瓜得瓜,种豆得豆。
社会上有许多家长和学生都认为学英语无用,我又不出国或出不了国,学习英语有何用处,只要学好母语就够了。
他们目光短浅,英语对于他们来说是前途无望,很渺茫。
但他们根本就没有意识到改革开放的今天,英语是多么重要,许多外商的投资以及大量商品的进出口都需要用英语来交流,没有流利的英语又怎么能沟通呢?因此学英语势在必行,学好英语前途无量。
作为一个英语教师首先应让学生明确这一点。
让学生看看2008年的奥运会的志愿者的风采,让他们看看刘欣主持的英语节目等等。
这些都可以激起学生的激情,使他们看到英语的前途有多光明。
使他们根据自己的年龄特征,自己的学习水平,教材内容制定目标,树立明确学习的目的,以正确的学习态度去学习英语。
这样才能激起学生的兴趣,在教学过程中让学生努力使自己的兴趣得到实现,使兴趣成为他们达到较高学习水平的一种推动力。
二、尊重学生,让学生经常有成功的体验
成功感是英语学习中非常宝贵的情感体验,多给学生提供表现自我的机会,能极大地激发学生的学习兴趣和热情。
教师应不断为学生创造成功的机会,让他们更多地品尝到成功的喜悦。
绝大多数教师都以考试的分数来区别对待学生,我想这就是大多数学生学不好英语的一个原因。
教师的做法极大地挫伤了学生的自尊心,使学生失去了学习的兴趣。
教师应该仔细关注学生的每一点滴的进步,尤其是对后进生,更应以表扬和鼓励为主,不能忽视他们的存在,要保护他们的自尊心,给他们创造机会,让他们获得成功。
最好的方法就是课上提问,把一些非常容易且有把握回答得出的问题留给他们,并且及时给予表扬和肯定,再如圆满地完成了作业,听写成绩进步,背课文较以前流利等都可视为成功,这种成功引起的满足和兴奋可使他们增强自信心,从而逐步体会到学英语的乐趣。
另外,在平日的学习和生活中,多关心和爱护他们,与他们交朋友。
多年的实践证明了上述方法是行之有效的,学生对学习英语产生了浓厚的兴趣,有些其他学科学得不好的学生却对英语情有独钟。
三、巧用教学方法,活跃课堂气氛
如在教七年级Unit 2 This is my sister.我把我的家人的一些照片用来教学,学生一看就兴致盎然,问这问那,我马上就利用图片引导学生学习了本单元的单词,很快就记住了。
接着学习介绍家人,然后让学生把我的家人介绍给同学们,这样既帮助了他们记忆单词,也活跃了课堂气氛,同时在教学这个单元时我还叫了一
些同学来介绍他们的家人,让其余的同学也这样,这样他们学起英语来就不那么枯燥无味了。
四、课内教学与课外辅导相结合的办法
要想学好并掌握英语这门语言,光靠课堂的学习是远远不够的。
因此,教师要有意识地督促学生在课外积极练习,这也需要采取一些方法来激发学生自主学习兴趣。
比如要求学生在课下用英语打招呼,时间久了就会养成习惯;再如老师给学生布置的作业可以是用学过的内容给家里的物品贴上标签,使他们在家中可以随时温习单词;平时写请假条和日记也尽量用英语。
还可以组织英语角、英语兴趣小组或者组织英文口语或写作的比赛,使他们相互交流经验,取长补短。
这样可以使学生在课外也有学习英语的环境。
同时还需要英语教师牺牲一些课外时间来辅导他们,细心讲解,耐心辅导,孜孜不倦循循善诱,这样他们的英语成绩才会慢慢提高,也才更乐学英语。
五、充分运用激励性评价,激发学生学习英语兴趣
古人云:“水不击不越,人不击不奋。
”心理学认为,一个人受到正确而充满激励的的情况下,他的能力发挥80%-90%,甚至更多,然而在没有受到激励机制的情况下他的能力仅发挥到20%-30%。
可见英语老师要是能在教学中以应有意识用传神的手势、生动的表情、欣赏的目光来鼓励学生,调动他们潜能的发挥,使其积极参与到教学中来。
教师对其满意的成果可以给予表扬,如Well Done!You’re great!You’re the best!Good!Ve日y good,Thank you.若不完全正确,也应加以肯定和鼓励:“That’s almost correet.”“Better than last time”“The first part of your answer is right,but……若回答错误时,也不要完全否定他们的答案,而是尽可能地挖掘他们的闪光点:“Your answer is not right,but your pronunciation is very good.”“Thank you all the same.”等。
同时也可让全体学生Cheer for him (her/them) 配上有节奏的掌声,一起向成功者竖起大拇指并说:Best.此时被赞扬的学生体会到成功的快乐,信心倍增,激发出“我要学”的动力。
总之,作为一个教师应给予学生以尊重和爱护,提起学生的学习兴趣,用灵活的教学方法,用丰富的内容和多样的方式循循善诱,让学生爱上英语学习,乐于学习。
教师以无私奉献的精神去感染学生,教育学生,以渊博的知识去培育学生,以科学的方法去引导学生,以真诚的爱心去温暖学生,以高尚的师德去影响学生,用健全的人格塑造学生的美好心灵。
相信学生会津津有味地学英语,学好英语。
