【教材分析】
本课是一节课内阅读课，向学生介绍了澳大利亚，以及了解澳大利亚的方式。本课是阅读教学的第一课时，侧重于让学生整体感知理解文本，让学生体会到澳大利亚的interesting。因为是第一课时，教学重点是理解，在阅读教学中要突出讲故事，要引导学生观察故事中的人、物、环境。在教学过程中让学生享受故事带来的乐趣。学生在学完这一节课后，一定要是无负担的，开心的，在掌握基本的英语语言知识的提前下，形成用英语与他人交流的能力基础上，进一步发展思维品质，提高学习能力，培养文化品格。
【学情分析】
通过三年多的英语学习，六年级的学生已经有了一定的语言知识储备，会简单的对所看到的图片、事物、人物进行描述。在备学生这一块儿是，我一直问自己：学生已经学会了什么？学生还需要什么？始终站在学生的高度，每一个环节的设置都充分考虑到学生的能力，让他们尽可能在自己的能力范围内有话可说，不管是知识能力，还是认知能力。除此之外，还要适时的评价学生、鼓励学生，让他们感受到成功的喜悦，爱被表扬，也是这个年龄段孩子的特点。这个年龄段的孩子在speaking/ thinking 方面较低中段孩子更为活跃，所以在备课环节中，要充分考虑到，充分给学生自主思考，表达的机会。
