本单元围绕festivals around the world(世界各地的节日)这一主题展开进行听、说、读、写等多种教育活动。

节日对人们有着各种各样的不同意义。

各国人民的节日各有不同,人们在节日中的表现、活动、习俗也有所不同。

本单元主题的选择兼顾到了学生的知识面,已经掌握的词汇,生活经历等,让学生不仅对本国的节日增进理解,而且对外国的节日也有所感悟,从而提高学生的社会文化素质,加强跨国文化意识。
