英语用英语讲中国故事比赛活动方案

英语用英语讲中国故事比赛活动方案全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1An "English for Telling Chinese Stories" CompetitionHi everyone! My name is Li Ming and I'm a 5th grader at Sunshine Elementary School in Beijing. I have a really cool idea I want to share with you all about having an "English for Telling Chinese Stories" competition at our school. How awesome would that be?!I love learning English, but sometimes it feels kind of disconnected from my life and culture here in China. This competition would be a way for us students to take famous Chinese legends, myths, fables and stories from history or literature and retell them in English. That way, we get to practice our English skills while also celebrating our rich Chinese heritage.Imagining sharing the classic tales of heroes like Mulan, Yue Fei or Hou Yi the archer in perfect English gives me goosebumps! Or recounting the beloved fables of ancient philosophers like Zhuangzi's butterfly dream or the clever folk tales passed downthrough generations like the Monkey King outwitting the Buddha. Woah, just thinking about it gets me so excited! The competition could work like this: First, we'd all study and research different Chinese stories, poems, myths, etc. that we want to tell in English. Then, each student would prepare their own 5-7 minute oral presentation summarizing and retelling their chosen story using whatever skills or props they want –acting, artwork, even PowerPoint slides, you name it!We could have different categories too based on the type of story (myth, historical legend, fable, etc.) or the grade level. There could be individual competitions as well as team/group storytelling entries where like 3-4 friends collaborate on one longer, bigger production. For the final round, we'd hold a big showcase evening where the finalists perform their stories in front of the whole school, parents, teachers and community. A panel of judges could score everyone on criteria like English fluency, creativity, dramatic performance, historical accuracy to the original tale, and more.Imagine hearing the dramatic storytelling of how Jingwei the girl filled the sea with twigs and pebbles to get revenge on the cruel shun waters that drowned her parents! Or the tale of how the Cowherd and Weaver Girl lovers were separated to oppositesides of the heavenly river but allowed to reunite just once a year on Chinese Valentine's Day when thousands of magpies form a bridge across the starry sky for them. So poetic! The best entries could even get fun prizes beyond just certificates and trophies. Like maybe the individual winners get to have a free speaking role in the school's next English play production? Or the group winners attend an awesome English drama camp over the summer? The fundraising committee could look into getting corporate sponsors to provide those prizes.I think preparing for a competition like this would be such an awesome way for us kids to build up our public speaking skills, boost our English vocabulary, learn more about our Chinese cultural heritage, and have a ton of fun all at the same time. The storytelling aspect makes it way more engaging than just doing boring English recitation contests too. We'd be 100% fluent English masters while feeling that deeper connection to our roots and all the amazing stories, lessons and characters that have been passed down through Chinese history over thousands of years. How incredible is that?!A total win-win in my book. Those are just some of my thoughts, but I'm sure there are lots of other cool ways we could structure an "English for TellingChinese Stories" competition too. I already ran the basic idea by my English teacher Ms. Wang and she seemed really enthusiastic about making it happen. What does everyone else think? If you're as psyched about this idea as I am, maybe we could set up a student committee to start fleshing out more of the specific planning and logistics. We could survey the entire study body to get feedback, ideas and volunteer judges too. With the right teamwork, I really believe we could put together an extraordinary English & Chinese cultural celebration that the whole community would be proud of! Let me know if you're on board or have any other suggestions. Thanks for listening, and let's make this competition dream a reality!Your fellow student,Li Ming篇2The English Story About China ContestHey everyone! I'm super excited to tell you about this awesome contest our school is having. It's called the "English Story About China Contest" and it's going to be so much fun!First, let me explain what it's all about. Basically, we get to write a short story in English that is set in China or is about Chinese culture, history, mythology, or anything related to China really. The best part is we get to use our creativity and imaginations to come up with the story! The contest is open to all students from grades 3 to 6. The teachers said this will help us practice our English writing skills while also learning more about the rich heritage and traditions of our country. How cool is that? Now, let me give you all the important details about the contest rules and prizes:Rules:Your story must be between 500-800 words longIt has to be written in EnglishThe story must be related to China in some way (setting, characters, plot, etc.)No plagiarizing! The story has to be completely originalYou can do illustrations too if you want, but they are optionalEntries must be submitted by May 1stPrizes:1st Prize: A classic Chinese literature book set and 50 gift card2nd Prize: A Chinese calligraphy set and 30 gift card3rd Prize: A Chinese folk art kit and 20 gift cardHonorable Mentions: Small prizes for top entries in each gradeThe teachers are also saying they may put together a little book collection of all the great stories! How awesome would it be to see your story published?I'm super excited for this contest because I just love writing stories. And Chinese culture is so fascinating with all the legends, philosophies, arts, and traditions. I can't wait to start working on my entry. Some of the ideas I've had so far are:A modern re-telling of the classic Journey to the West story but in EnglishA mystery story set in the Forbidden City in ancient timesA fantasy tale about a boy who discovers he has powers from the Chinese zodiac animalsA story about Marco Polo's adventures traveling the Silk Road and meeting people in ChinaBut there are so many other possibilities too! You could write about Chinese festivals, folk tales, important historical figures, or maybe give a Chinese twist to a classic Western fairy tale. The options are endless!I think learning about our heritage and culture through a creative writing project is such a fun way to do it. We get to explore all the amazing aspects of Chinese civilization in a way that expresses our own unique voices. The teachers are also going to have some workshops over the next few weeks to give us tips on writing fiction, characterization, plot development, and all that good stuff. They even have some activities planned to teach us more about different areas of Chinese culture to spark story ideas. Things like:Reading examples of Chinese myths and fablesLearning about the history and significance of Chinese arts like calligraphy and paper-cuttingDiscovering the meanings behind Chinese symbols, proverbs, and zodiac folkloreExploring the varied cuisine, attire, and traditions of China's many ethnic groupsI'm definitely going to those workshops because I need all the help I can get! Writing a whole story in English is not easy, but I'm really excited for the challenge. Who's with me?What kind of story ideas do you all have? Let's talk about it and get those creative juices flowing! I'd love to hear your thoughts. This is going to be such an amazing experience, opening our minds to the wonders of Chinese culture while polishing our English skills. Contests like these make learning so much more engaging than just reading from a textbook.I can't wait to get started on my story. Maybe I'll write abouta magical adventure finding the secret ingredients to a delicious dish from Sichuan cuisine. Or perhaps a courageous Chinese explorer who circumnavigated the globe before the Western explorers. Oooh or what about a myths about how the12 animals of the zodiac were chosen?I better stop now before my idea list gets too long! Just let your imagination run wild and have fun with this contest. Write the story that speaks to your heart and celebrates the rich tapestry that is Chinese civilization.Let the storytelling begin! I'll see you at the workshops. This is going to be epic!篇3English Stories Telling Chinese Stories CompetitionHi everyone! My name is Lily, and I'm a 6th grader at Sunshine Primary School. Today, I'm really excited to share with you all about our school's upcoming "English Stories Telling Chinese Stories Competition"!What is it?This competition is all about telling famous Chinese stories and legends, but we have to do it in English! How cool is that? We get to practice our English skills while sharing the amazing tales that have been passed down in China for generations. Why are we doing this?Well, there are a few reasons why our teachers thought this would be a great idea. First, it's a fun way for us to improve ourEnglish speaking and storytelling abilities. By retelling these classic Chinese stories in English, we'll get better at using descriptive language, varying our tone and expression, and keeping an audience engaged.Second, it celebrates our rich cultural heritage. China has such an incredible history filled with fascinating myths, folktales, and fables. This competition gives us a chance to explore those stories and share them with others in a new way.And third, it promotes cross-cultural understanding. By hearing these quintessentially Chinese tales told in English, students from other backgrounds can gain insight into our traditions and values. At the same time, we Chinese students get to appreciate how these stories might be perceived from a different cultural lens. How will it work? The competition will be open to all students from grades 3 to 6. We'll have separate divisions for each grade level. Each participant has to choose one Chinese story or legend to retell in English. It can be a famous myth like the story of Mulan or the Monkey King, or a lesser-known regional folktale. We'll have about a month to prepare our stories. Our English teachers will help us practice our pronunciation, expression, and storytelling techniques. Then, on the big day, we'll take turns performing our stories in front of a panel of judges and an audience. The judges will score us based on criteria like:Pronunciation and fluency in EnglishCreativity in retelling the storyAudience engagement and expressionAccuracy in conveying the story's meaning and moralThere will be prizes for the top performers in each grade level, like books, certificates, and even a chance to represent our school at a city-wide storytelling event! Why should you join?Firstly, it's going to be so much fun! Imagine getting up on stage and captivating everyone with your animated retelling of an epic Chinese legend. You'll feel like a real storyteller from ancient times!Plus, it's an incredible opportunity to boost your English skills. You'll learn new vocabulary, improve your public speaking abilities, and gain confidence in using English creatively. But most importantly, you'll get to share a cherished part of China's heritage with your classmates and the wider community. These stories have been passed down for centuries because they contain valuable lessons and universal truths. By retelling them in English, you'll be acting as a bridge between cultures, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation. So what are you waiting for? Start thinking about which legendary tale you'd like to bring to life on stage. Maybe you'll choose the story of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, or the myth of the Dragon Boat Festival. Perhaps you'll dig into a lesser-known regional folklore from your family's hometown. No matter which story you pick, I guarantee it'll be an unforgettable experience. Mark your calendars for the big day, and get ready to dazzle us with your English storytelling skills while sharing the magic of Chinese legends!I can't wait to see all the creative and passionate performances. Let's make this the best "English Stories Telling Chinese Stories Competition" ever! If you have any otherquestions, just ask your English teachers or the student organizers. Thanks for reading, and happy storytelling!篇4English-Speaking Chinese Stories ContestHi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm a 5th grader at Sunshine Elementary School. I have a super cool idea for a fun school activity that lets us practice our English while sharing awesome Chinese stories and legends. It's called theEnglish-Speaking Chinese Stories Contest! What Is It?The English-Speaking Chinese Stories Contest is where students get to take famous Chinese myths, fables, or historical tales and retell them entirely in English. The best part is we get to perform our English story retelling on stage in front of the whole school! There will be different contest categories based on grade level. Why Do This Contest? There are lots of great reasons to have an English-Speaking Chinese Stories Contest at our school:It's a fun way to practice our English speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills by working on an exciting project. Instead of just doing boring textbook exercises, we get to be creative storytellers! We can learn more about Chinese culture and history by researching the original stories and legends. There are so many rich tales passed down over thousands of years.Performing on stage builds confidence and public speaking abilities that will help us later in life when giving presentations or speeches.Family members can come watch the performances so everyone gets to celebrate Chinese heritage together.Winners get cool prizes and recognition! Every grade level will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. How It Would WorkHere are the rules I'm proposing for the English-Speaking Chinese Stories Contest:Students choose a famous Chinese story, myth, legend, or historical tale they want to retell in their own words using English. They write out the full story retelling in English, focusing on accurate vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and flow. Maximum 10 minutes length.Students can make simple props or costumes related to their story, but no huge sets or backgrounds allowed.Everyone performs their English story retelling in front of a judging panel made up of teachers and community members.Judges score performances on English skills, storytelling ability, stage presence, and overall entertainment value.1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners are chosen for each grade level based on scores. An evening showcase is held where winning performances get to retell their story in front of the whole school and families.I think this would be an amazing contest for our school to organize! We could learn so much while gaining valuable skills. Performing tales like Mulan, The Monkey King, or The Ghost of the Old Willow Tree in English would be an unforgettable experience. What Students Could GainBy participating in this English-Speaking Chinese Stories Contest, students would:• Improve public speaking abilities and confidence on stage• Enhance English comprehension, writing, and speaking proficiency• Appreciate classic Chinese literature and cultu ral heritage• Get creative with researching, retelling, and acting out stories• Work on teamwork and project management skills• Have a memorable way to share their Chinese prideIt would be such a thrill to bring an ancient Chinese legend to life using our English skills for all to see! Friends and family could witness our hard work too. I really hope our school will consider making this contest idea a reality. Those are just my thoughts, but I'd love to hear what you all think too!
