网申OPEN QUESTION

网申OPEN QUESTION

/view/d00a7e3510661ed9ad51f32d.html/view/b9d36ee90975f46527d3e14e.html/view/b6063ff0ba0d4a7302763af5.html/view/d5c7ee0003d8ce2f00662355.html 你认为大学时代最成功/失败的一件事是什么?

S=Situation,T=Target,A=Action,R=Result。

I’m a Senior/ 4th-year undergraduate student from School of Economics, Peking University. I’ve kept on outstanding academic record during the 4 years in college, winning several awards and scholarships including… I’ve co-founded such and such student organizations on campus and have participated in such and such exchange programs. I’ve had internships with prestigious companies such as ABC and XYZ, which was my first exposure to the consulting industry. I’m excited about the dynamic life style and steep learning curve in a consulting firm, and that’s the reason whyI applied for this job.Unique:I’m a person who likes challenges. During my 4 years at Peking University I’ve always tried hard to seek, confront and conquer challenges, as you can find from my resume. Today I’m sitting here in front of you, well aware that you are going to give me a big challenge. And I’m confident that I can survive it.2)Describe an instance where you set your sights on a high/demanding goaland saw it though completion. (challenge, overcome difficulties)When I entered Peking University in 200X, I was not the best student in my class. Iaimed at the 5% rank and my passion for study has never waned despite chores from extracurricular activities and community events I have joined.Surrounded by International Mathematics and Physics Olympics gold medalists and top students from all over the nation, I realized that I faced tough competition. Instead of settling for what I had already achieved, I rose to the challenge and soon distinguished myself among my classmates. I had a plan to work hard on my weak fields, especially in XX areas. In addition to attending classes and finishing the assignments, I constantly consulted fellow students and teachers. I also gave myself extra reading and assignments to broaden my knowledge horizon. I dug out the significance beyond the literal meanings of every theorem by looking at them from different perspectives, found their connections to other ideas, and fixed them within the framework of economics. In the mean time, I was very into the extracurricular activities, especially the Students’Theater Organization (STO) at Peking University. I managed to strike a good balance between study and activities, which turned out to be complementary and beneficial to each other. However, it was not so easy to give consideration to both study and work, and conflict is unavoidable. So plans to arrange the time were indispensable every week. When others were playing computer games or watching movies on the weekend, I was always the last one to leave the library on Fridays and Saturdays. Despite the sacrifices I had to make, I maintained high spirits because I managed to handle my study and hobbies successfully and enjoyed the hard work.Till now, I have gained the first prize scholarship for six straight times in the past three years. My perseverance paid off handsomely and I received a major GPA of 3.9. I constantly ranked top 5% among 200 students and had the privilege to receive the coveted scholarships awarded only to the best few, including Sumitomo Bank Scholarshipand Peking University’s Annual Outstanding Scholar award.A. Summarize a situation where you took the initiative to get others on an important task or issue, and played a leading role to achieve the results you wanted.B. Accomplish a task with tight deadline by listening and understanding to difference ideas.C. Leading and influencing the direction of a project or taskSituation:Task:Action:Result:。

I’ve kept on outstanding academic record during the 4 years in college, winning several awards and s cholarships including… I’ve co-founded such and such student organizations on campus and have participated in such and such exchange programs. I’ve had internships with prestigious companies such as ABC and XYZ, which was my first exposure to the consu lting industry. I’m excited about the dynamic life style and steep learning curve in a consulting firm, and that’s the reason whyI applied for this job.Unique:I’m a person who likes challenges. During my 4 years at Peking University I’ve alwa ys tried hard to seek, confront and conquer challenges, as you can find from my resume. I aimed at the 5% rank and my passion for study has never waned despite chores from extracurricular activities and community events I have joined.Surrounded by International Mathematics and Physics Olympics gold medalists and top students from all over the nation, I realized that I faced tough competition. In the mean time, I was very into the extracurricular activities, especially the Students’ Theater Organization (STO) at Peking University. I constantly ranked top 5% among 200 students and had the privilege to receive the coveted scholarships awarded only to the best few, including Sumitomo Bank Scholarship and Peking University’s Annual Outstanding Scholar award.A. It was very hard for us to raise funds, rent room, enroll students and teachers, update the propagate information regularly. At first we really didn't how to deal with so many things, sometimes we just wasted time. Then we realized that we were not supermen, we couldn't do everything well. We must know our strengths and weaknessesand assign work on them. By cooperation, we establish it.-2. What was the biggest setback in your college life? How did it impact you? And how did you face this setback? When I became the leader of Publicity Department at first, I didn't know how to organize my time and energy efficiently. Toward the end of 2006, I was told to organize a speech competition. The members in my team had different ideas and they refused to cooperation, I didn't know how to do, I had to do everything by myself. I paid a lot of time into the speech competition, but some field was not my strengths. Of course the result was very terrible. It teaches me that it is not necessary for a true leader do everything by himself. But he must possess the charismatic and the capacity to drive different people, who have diverging opinions, or even conflicting interests, to proceed together to the same organizational goal.--3.Please describe one of the most difficult and demanding tasks you have had in university. Last semester there was an opportunity for her to take part in academic and cultural exchanges to the US. I felt it was very fit for her academic background, and I also knew she was lack of confidence. I had a very nice Pakistan teacher--basit, he promised me to help her. But I knew what penny really needed was not help, it was self-confidence. At first penny just listened me and basit, and she found sometimes I did some syntax errors, but both she and basit could understand me without problem. Then I told her language was just a tool of communication, we shouldn't pay too many attention to others' views. Basit said he wanted to listen a joke from penny, although the joke was not very interesting, but maybe it was the first time for penny to tell jokes in English, both basit and I felt very happy.Since then, penny became confident in her oral English, at last she apply for the academic and cultural exchanges .I am very happy that I can help my friend, I can encourage others to pursue interests and follow dreams.

(1)从多个不同的角度看问题,证明你的思维能力很强;
(2)从多个方面阐述问题,证明你的语言表达能力很强;
