超实用地道美语集锦-IDon't let the things you own end up owing you.

原句“let the things you own end up owing you”是电影《搏击俱乐部》(Fight Club)的经典台词,也是一句警句。

”That restaurant is in walking distance.

还有一句“Just steps away, you can't miss it.”

You stood us up again.

在美国口语中,“放鸽子”最普遍的用法“stand sb. up”,英文的解释是“to fail to keep a date with.”。

如果他放你鸽子,你就可以说,“He is a no-show.”(他爽约了。

If you are not present at the pre-arranged pick-up location when the service vehicle arrives, you will be considered a "No-Show".
