16速变速箱由前副箱+主箱+后副箱组成。
目前副箱不变，主箱每一班(无跳闸停机)都是一整班。

前副箱不需要切换时(路况好)，其操作与主箱和后副箱变速箱完全一样。
当要切换前副箱(爬坡等特殊路况)时，有两种换挡状态:一是在手柄位置不变的情况下，换挡时，先拉动手柄上的开关进行预选，然后踩到底，抬起离合器，实现换挡；第二，手柄位置变化时，加减齿轮。
