马来西亚理工大学(UTM)是马来西亚最著名的公立大学之一,也 是马来西亚五所研究型公立大学之一。大学主校区位于马来西亚西马 南端的柔佛州的新山市(Johor Bahru), 占地面积 1148 公顷(约合 17220 亩),紧临新加坡,15 分钟车程即可到达新加坡。另外在吉隆 坡市中心还有一个校区,占地面积 35 公顷。
理工大学有 6 个学院位于吉隆坡校区。其中理工大学国际商学院 (UTM IBS)位于吉隆坡校区,是国际高等商学院(ACCSB)和亚太管 理学院联合会(AAPBS)成员,2013 年马来西亚最佳商学院排名第一, 开设专业有工商管理博士等课程。理工大学马日国际学院(UTM MJIIT) 位于吉隆坡校区,学子们在 MJIIT 可充分体验英联邦和日本的工程教 育体系,并有众多前往日本名校学习和交流的机会。
UTM 现有 19 个学院(其中 12 个为工程技术学院、7 个为社会科学 与教育学院)以支持科技、教育及研发需要外,还拥有 11 个研究联盟 和 28 个研发中心。
截至 2016 年 6 月,大学有 21,309 名在校生,其中本科生 10,321 名,研究生 10,988 名(其中博士生 4927 名),大学另有来自 60 多个国 家的约 3000 多名国际留学生,另外还有 5,000 名来自世界各地的交流 交换生。从 1972 年起,UTM 培养了 176,059 名毕业生。大学与 1213 家企业建立了战略合作伙伴关系,为学生实习就业提供了便利,迄今 为止,UTM 为马来西亚就业率最高的大学。

关于做好河北工程大学与马来亚大学交换生项目交换生选拔工作的通知各相关学院:根据河北工程大学与马来西亚马来亚大学交换生项目协议,我校2013/2014学年第一学期的交换生选拔工作开始进行。
现将项目相关事宜通知如下:一、选拔条件及办法1.学生已持有因私护照。
2.英语四级成绩在450分以上或六级在425以上。
托福成绩80分或雅思成绩5.5以上的优先推荐,报名时交验原始成绩单。
3.在校生平均积点分一般应在(GPA)3.0 以上,各相关学院出具加盖印章的成绩单。
4.学生选择的专业应与所学专业紧密对接。
5.身心健康,能圆满完成出国访问与学习任务。
6.参加交换生项目的范围是本科二、三年级的学生和研究生一、二年级的学生。
本科生、研究生由所在学院负责推荐。
7.学生在本学院报名,各学院按英语成绩、平均积点分等排名推荐。
8.国际合作与交流处依据学生报名情况将指标按比例分配到各有关学院。
二、关于学分互认1.我校承认学生在国外学习期间所获得的学分,所获得的学分应与我校同一学期或同一学年的学分相近。
学习结束时,获得的学分整体置换成我校学分,课程名称按马来亚大学所学课程记入学生档案。
2.学生应了解我校的课程设置和马来亚大学的交换生课程目录,在各有关学院指导下选课,尽量选择相同或相近的课程,所选课程最多不超过七门。
课程考试合格后凭马来亚大学的成绩单置换学分。
三、关于学费的收取学生在国外学习期间,学费仍按我校标准收取,免收住宿费。
四、学生自理费用1.国际往返机票费用、签证费。
2.向马来亚大学缴纳申请费(1780元人民币)。
3.向河北省国际教育交流中心缴纳项目管理费(5000元人民币)。
4.学习期间的生活费用和必要的保险费用。
五、选拔程序1.4月19日各学院将报名表送交国际合作与交流处(行政楼405房间)。
2.4月23日学校确定交换生推荐名单。
国际合作与交流处收交换生申请材料。
申请材料清单见附件。
提醒:护照办理约需七个工作日,请提前到户口所在地公安局办理。

U N I V E R S I T Y O F M A L A Y A S T U D E N T E X C H A N G E P R O G R A M M EUMSEP1.INTRODUCTIONThe increasing focus on internationalization of higher education has made study abroad program an essential part of a university learning process. This significant aspect of learning is made possible at the University of Malaya through its Study Abroad - Student Exchange program. UM Student Exchange program UMSEP is designed for international students who wish to acquire the experience of living and studying in a Malaysian campus through a short-term study program. It aims at fostering international understanding among students of different nationalities by providing an excellent learning environment.Through the program, students from overseas can pursue studies through taught courses or research in their field of interest and gain broad perspectives on different cultures and background of their peers.2.DEFINITIONThe UMSEP is a short-term study program offered to local and international students. The International Student Centre ISC will handle the intake of international undergraduate students only.Categories of UMSEP are listed as follows:I.Student Exchange ProgrammeUMSEP applies to students who are interested to spend at least one semester and NOT MORE than one academic session at University of Malaya. Students enrolling under this program will be permitted to register in courses or research areas of their choice subject to the rules and regulations governing the program. UMSEP is opened to all undergraduate students from foreign universities.Participation in UMSEPStudents participating in the program may choose to enrol in one or more of the courses offered during the semester or session as listed below:(a)Regular academic undergraduate course .(b)Co-curriculum courses practical courses in the areas of culture,arts and sports.(c)Supervised independent research. Students may identify their ownchoice of faculty members to be the supervisor.Having basic Malay Language proficiency is an added advantage to students who wish to enrol in undergraduate courses, as the medium of instruction for most of the courses is the Malay Language, especially in Arts based Faculties. For the benefit of students who are not proficient in the language they may register for courses taught in English only. UMSEP studentsare permitted to enrol not more than 20 credit hours per semester, subjectto the availability of courses and the university approval.A UMSEP student shall not be permitted to take any examination of the University except with the prior written permission of the Registrar. Permission shall only be granted if such student is already a student of another university or institution and is applying for transfer of creditsto his university or institution. Application to take any examination shall be made in writing to the Registrar within three 3 months from the date of registration as a UMSEP. The application shall be accompanied by a letter from the Registrar or any authorized officer from the home university or institution requesting for such arrangements to be made.(1)Permission to take any examination of the University under thissubsection is granted subject to the following conditions:(a)the student shall have followed the courses leading to the saidexamination to the satisfaction of the Dean of the Faculty or theHead of the Institution concerned; and(b)the results of any examinations taken shall not be released tothe student but shall be sent direct to his university orinstitution.8.FEESUMSEP students will get a tuition fee waiver, limited to a specific number of students if stipulated in an agreement between their home university and University of Malaya. Other expenses such as airfare, administrative fees, visa charges and other costs will be borne by the applicants or their home university.9.VISA & STUDENT PASS APPLICATIONThe offer of admission to international students does not come with an entry Visa and a Student Pass, which are required by the Malaysian government.Students admitted to UM must have an entry visa and a Student Pass before entering Malaysia. The University will apply for these documents on behalf of the students and notice of the approval will be sent to students prior to their departure or upon arrival in Malaysia. Offshore Office of China can help the Chinese students who already got the acceptance letter from University of Malaya to obtain the entry visa.10.GENERAL MATTERS(a)Library FacilitiesUMSEP students are permitted to use the University Libraryfacilities. A student identification card must be produced uponregistration at the library’s Student Service Counter.Information about the UM Library can be obtained at(b)AccommodationOn-campus housing with double or triple-sharing rooms andcommunal facilities are provided for UMSEP students. Students mayalso choose other private housing best suited to their lifestyleand location on their own.(c) Extracurricular Activities and International ExchangeActivitiesFor the full benefit of their stay at UM, UMSEP students areencouraged to participate in activities organized by studentclubs or associations. A wide range of student activities areorganized at the residential hall and university levels. TheStudent Affairs Division of the university oversees allactivities by student organizations and societies. Byparticipating in the activities, students will have theopportunities to learn about Malaysian culture and the experienceof studying in a Malaysian campus.(d)Health InsuranceStudents are advised to have adequate medical insurance coverageespecially for hospitalization cases. Nonetheless, treatment forminor illnesses with minimal fees charged can be obtained at theStudents’ Health Clinic. It aims at fostering international understanding among students of different nationalities by providing an excellent learning environment.Through the program, students from overseas can pursue studies through taught courses or research in their field of interest and gain broad perspectives on different cultures and background of their peers.2.DEFINITIONThe UMSEP is a short-term study program offered to local and international students. The International Student Centre (ISC) will handle the intake of international undergraduate students only.Categories of UMSEP are listed as follows:I.Student Exchange ProgrammeUMSEP applies to students who are interested to spend at least one semester and NOT MORE than one academic session at University of Malaya. Students enrolling under thisprogram will be permitted to register in courses or research areas of their choice (subject to the rules and regulations governing the program). UMSEP is opened to all undergraduate students from foreign universities.Participation in UMSEPStudents participating in the program may choose to enrol in one or more of the courses offered during the semester or session as listed below:(a)Regular academic undergraduate course .(b)Co-curriculum courses (practical courses in the areas of culture, artsand sports).(c)Supervised independent research. Students may identify their ownchoice of faculty members to be the supervisor.Having basic Malay Language proficiency is an added advantage to students who wish to enrol in undergraduate courses, as the medium of instruction for most of the courses is the Malay Language, especially in Arts based Faculties. For the benefit of students who are not proficient in the language they may register for courses taught in English only. For science based Faculties, the medium of instruction is English Language.3.ELIGIBILITY AND CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION(a) A student must be a registered student of another university, local or abroad.(b) A student must be academically suitable for the undergraduate course/s or researchtopic he is applying to take.(c) A student who is interested in taking undergraduate courses in the arts basedfaculties must be proficient in the Malay Language in order to benefit from hisstudies since the medium of instruction for Arts based faculties in UM is the MalayLanguage.(d) A UMSEP student shall be admitted for a period at least one semester and NOTMORE than one academic session at University of Malaya. The total number ofcourses/credit hours registered by a UMSEP student may not exceed two third ofthe total credit hours o f the graduating student.(e)If a UMSEP student is admitted on an audit basis, he/she can only attend lecturesand not allowed to sit for an examination.4.APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION(a)Application from China for admission as a UMSEP student must be submitted tothe Offshore Office (China, Beijing), University of Malaya at least three (3) months prior to the beginning of each semester or date of attachment.(b)The student is responsible to obtain from the respective faculties, the informationon the course/s that the student is interested in. UMSEP students are permitted to enrol not more than 20 credit hours per semester, subject to the availability of courses and the university approval.A UMSEP student shall not be permitted to take any examination of the University except with the prior written permission of the Registrar. Permission shall only be granted if such student is already a student of another university or institution and is applying for transfer of credits to his university or institution. Application to take any examination shall be made in writing to the Registrar within three (3) months from the date of registration as a UMSEP. The application shall be accompanied by a letter from the Registrar or any authorized officer from the home university or institution requesting for such arrangements to be made.(1)Permission to take any examination of the University under this subsection is grantedsubject to the following conditions:(a)the student shall have followed the courses leading to the saidexamination to the satisfaction of the Dean of the Faculty or the Headof the Institution concerned; and(b)the results of any examinations taken shall not be released to the student but shallbe sent direct to his university or institution.8.FEESUMSEP students will get a tuition fee waiver, limited to a specific number of students if stipulated in an agreement between their home university andUniversity of Malaya. Other expenses such as airfare, administrative fees, visa charges and other costs will be borne by the applicants or their home university.9.VISA & STUDENT PASS APPLICATIONThe offer of admission to international students does not come with an entry Visa and a Student Pass, which are required by the Malaysian government. Students admitted to UM must have an entry visa and a Student Pass before entering Malaysia. The University will apply for these documents on behalf of the students and notice of the approval will be sent to students prior to their departure or upon arrival in Malaysia. Offshore Office of China can help the Chinese students who already got the acceptance letter from University of Malaya to obtain the entry visa.10.GENERAL MATTERS(a)L ibrary FacilitiesUMSEP students are permitted to use the University Library facilities. A studentidentification card must be produced upon registration at the library’s StudentService Counter. Information about the UM Library can be obtained at(b)AccommodationOn-campus housing with double or triple-sharing rooms and communalfacilities are provided for UMSEP students. Students may also chooseother private housing best suited to their lifestyle and location on theirown.(c)Extracurricular Activities and International Exchange ActivitiesFor the full benefit of their stay at UM, UMSEP students areencouraged to participate in activities organized by student clubs orassociations. A wide range of student activities are organized at theresidential hall and university levels. The Student Affairs Division ofthe university oversees all activities by student organizations andsocieties. By participating in the activities, students will have theopportunities to learn about Malaysian culture and the experience ofstudying in a Malaysian campus.(d)Health InsuranceStudents are advised to have adequate medical insurance coverageespecially for hospitalization cases. Nonetheless, treatment for minorillnesses with minimal fees charged can be obtained at the Student s’Health Clinic.
