How to solve the high housing price(高房价)Currently, with the development of the modern industry, a growing number of people are flowing into cities.Accordingly, the housing problem is becoming more and more serious. The housing price is too high ,which has caused widespread concern in society. "Home to live in " is a concept proposed by Premier Wen. However, the current housing price has been far beyond the tolerant range of people, many residents can not afford a house. The phenomenon is very common and very dangerous. We know that price is too high for several reasons. First, the land resources are very limited, so the cost of land is high. Second, the costs of structural materials and other factors contributed to the rise of housing price. Finally, and most importantly, the relationship between supply and demand is imbalanced. The ability to buy is much stronger than the supply capacity.Taking above mentioned factors into consideration, it is time that we take effective measures to protect the rights of the people's living. First, the government should provide more land resources to use. Second, the government should take more actions to do some goods for low-income residents. Third, provide more job opportunities, so that people can get richer and have the ability to purchase house.Grass-roots phenomenon Stars(草根明星现象)On the 2011 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, the little-known "sun masculine" and other ―grassroots‖ people quickly became popular from "grassroots" star to "public" star. This phenomenon is very common nowadays. It is worth our consideration and analysis.Although ―grassroots‖stars are not a public figure, they become popular star, which deserves(值得) our encouragement and recognition. Many reasons accounting for this are as follows: first, they represent the power of ―grassroots‖ people, so that there is broad public basis for them. Second, their performance is in such a popular form that it is easy for the massive people to like it. Third, their special performances of ―grassroots‖ stars make up for the blank of traditional art. Finally, like other kinds of stars, the ―grassroots‖ have been widely recognized through their hard work. Therefore, there is nodoubt that they should get the praise and encouragement.Based on the above-mentioned factors, we should appreciate this phenomenon. First, encourage these ―grassroots‖ stars to create more works that people tend to like. In addition, stimulate more people to achieve social recognition through their own hard work. Only in this way, the whole society can make progress and become more harmonious.2011年中央电视台春节联欢晚会,让名不见经传的“旭日阳刚”等草根平民迅速走红,一批“草根”明星成为“大众”明星。

2015年考博英语作文押题范文(五)FIRST ONEMovie MusicAccustomed though we are to speaking of the films made before 1927 as “silent”, the film has never been, in the full sense of the word, silent. From the very beginning, music was regarded as an indispensable accompaniment; when the Lumiere films were shown at the first public film exhibition in the United States in February 1896, they were accompanied by piano improvisations on popular tunes. At first, the music played bore no special relationship to the films; an accompaniment of any kind was sufficient. Within a very short time, however, the incongruity of playing lively music to a solemn film became apparent, and film pianists began to take some care in matching their pieces to the mood of the film.As movie theaters grew in number and importance, a violinist, and perhaps a cellist, would be added to the pianist in certain cases, and in the larger movie theaters small orchestras were formed. For a number of years the selection of music for each film program rested entirely in the hands of the conductor or leader of the orchestra, and very often the principal qualification for holding such a position was not skill or taste so much as the ownership of a large personal library of musical pieces. Since the conductor seldom saw the films until the night before they were to be shown(if indeed, the conductor was lucky enough to see them then), the musical arrangement was normally improvised in the greatest hurry. To help meet this difficulty, film distributing companies started the practice of publishing suggestions for musical accompaniments. In 1909, for example, the Edison Company began issuing with their films such indications of mood as “ pleasant”, “sad”, “lively”. The suggestions became more explicit, and so emerged the musical cue sheet containing indications of mood, the titles of suitable pieces of music, and precise directions to show where one piece led into the next. Certain films had music especially composed for them. The most famous of these early special scores was that composed and arranged for D.W Griffith’s film Birth of a Nation, which was released in 1915.(PS:The way to contact yumingkaobo TEL:四零零 六六八 六九七八)SECOND ONEInternational Business and Cross-cultural CommunicationThe increase in international business and in foreign investment has created a need for executives with knowledge of foreign languages and skills in cross-cultural communication. Americans, however, have not been well trained in either area and, consequently, have not enjoyed the same level of success in negotiation in an international arena as have their foreign counterparts. Negotiating is the process of communicating back and forth for the purpose of reaching an agreement. It involves persuasion and compromise, but in order to participate in either one, the negotiators must understand the ways in which people are persuaded and how compromise isreached within the culture of the negotiation. In many international business negotiations abroad, Americans are perceived as wealthy and impersonal. It often appears to the foreign negotiator that the American represents a large multimillion-dollar corporation that can afford to pay the price without bargaining further. The American negotiator’s role becomes that of an impersonal purveyor of information and cash.In studies of American negotiators abroad, several traits have been identified that may serve to confirm this stereotypical perception, while undermining the negotiator’s position. Two traits in particular that cause cross-cultural misunderstanding are directness and impatience on the part of the American negotiator. Furthermore, American negotiators often insist on realizing short-term goals. Foreign negotiators, on the other hand, may value the elationship established between negotiators and may be willing to invest time in it for long-term benefits. In order to solidify the relationship, they may opt for indirect interactions witho本文由“育明考博”整理编辑。

Thomas Edison gave us an example that success only comes after persistence and hard work.
The example of Thomas Edison best supports the view.He achieved innumerable honors throughout his life, but he never abandoned his pursuit of new goals.
Take the famous scientist Thomas Edison for example. He had done very well in his early life, but continued to pursue something more difficult all through his life.
As a nation renowned in the world for many of its virtues, the Chinese people have been practicing filial piety throughout history. Many much-told stories reiterate this time-honored virtue of loving and respecting the elders, like the story of Ti Ying in the West Han Dynasty who risked her life in order to save her wronged father from corporal punishment.

That title always had grandeur to it.“Miss America.”Ah,the simple, arrogant brilliance. It suggests a prom queen who wants to become the Statue of Liberty. Now she’s75and darned if she isn’t fresh as a Hard Copy headline. When the Atlantic City pageant airs this Saturday in the U.S.on the NBC network, some ambitious young woman—one of the50000who try out each year—will realize the gossamer dream that last year enveloped Heatber Whitestone, the first deaf Miss America. But in the months leading to that night, the pageant has been slapped with unseemly controversy.A Miss Maryland runner-up charges that she was denied her state title because of vote rigging.Other state runners-up are vexed because a woman who had lost the Miss New Jersey competition four times decamped to Delaware and won the title there. And throughout America the anguished debate roils on.Should the swimsuit competition be dropped?Scandal is the coin of contemporary celebrity;it keeps the public interested. Funny how people have really cared about the pageant’s politics:in1945the naming of the first Jewish MissAmerica,Bass Myers on;in1979the dumping of Bert Parks, the show’s emcee for 25years;in1984the dethroning of Vanessa Williams, the first winner of color, after sexually provocative photos surfaced.Race, creed, age, all have clouded the show. But like the winner at the moment of coronation—brandishing a mile—wide smile as she sobs on the edge of both the runway and hysteria—the pageant proves thatpretty can be messy. It serves as a kitsch microcosm of a conflicted country.Miss America is America. This year Americans can be a part of the pageant, and not just by guessing the winner and trashing the losers. In a plebiscite, the I-can’t-believe-its-a-beauty-pageant,pageant is letting viewers decide whether the swimsuit competition will be retained. Before every commercial during the first half of the three-hour show, two phone numbers will appear—one for yes votes, one for no.The tally will be up-dated throughout the program.Normally the swimsuit competition is the first event of the evening;this year it will be the last—unless it is eliminated which it won’t be.Straw polls indicate wide support, and42of the50contestants are for it.Says Emily Orson,Miss Oregon,“The media can make you feel a lot more naked than a swimsuit. So if you can’t be comfortable competing in this, you won’t feel comfortable being Miss America.”No question that the contestants must parade as objects—not sex objects, exactly, since the bathing gear they are made to wear is about as revealing as a cassock, but surely as objects—for ogling, for censure, for pity.Lee Merewether, Miss America1955,recalls her agony in a one piece,“I was dying a thousand deaths.I’ve never had people stare at me like that, and with binoculars!“I’ll be thrilled if they can get rid of it”,says this year’s Miss Montana,Amanda Granule,“We shouldn’t have women in a veiled strip show.”Even Leonard Horn, who runs the Miss America Organization, says,“I personally cannot rationalize it.”Eager to italicize the scholarship program that gives more than$24million a year to contestants,Horn sees the swimsuit segment as a tacky relic of Miss America’s childhood.1.The Miss Maryland runner-up was denied her state title because______A.she didn’t get enough votes.B.somebody was manipulating behind the scene.C.she was charged of some criminal deeds.D.people held a controversial point of view of her.2.The first sentence of Para.3indicates the public______A.is casual about the pageant.B.shows great concern over the outstanding people.C.has nothing to do but gossip.D.is interested in scandals that produce famous persons.3.According to Para.3______A.the pageant is also a political maneuver.B.the pageant is closely connected with race.weight&age.C.pretty is not a blessing.D.the contest for Miss America can reflect the conflicts existing in American society.4.In the view of Miss Oregon,A.the swimsuit competition is much more hideous than the media.B.we have reasons to retain this competition.C.the media is sometimes less annoying than the swimsuit competition.D.the media can reveal more of oneself than the swimsuit does.5.It can be inferred from the text that the competition______A.will be banned.B.will be held every five years.C.will continue to exist.D.becomes popular.【答案与解析】1.B在第二段第三句“一位马里兰州的美国小姐参赛者指责说就是因为选票作弊,而否定她获州小姐称号。
The most important step in developing an effective campaign, and the step which must come before all others,is to define the objectives of the campaign with the greatest possible clarity.Does the company wish to attract new investors?Does it seek to acquire a company abroad? Is a new product to be introduced? Are new government regulations threatening the company’s profit-ability?Only after the fundamental needs of a corporation have been established can the basic objective for a corporate program be isolated, without such a clearly defined objective the campaign will have little effect.Note that we have spoken of“an objective,”not a set of objectives. One cannot create a favorable climate among the financial community, emphasize one’s concern for the environment, seek to attract new employees by the creation of a progressive image, give direct support to sales staff, and emphasize social responsibility, all in a single campaign.A scattering of diverse messages will simply confuse the reader and in the end he will absorb nothing. After the prime reason for investment in the campaign has been decided upon, the second step is to collect all the information that one wishes to convey to the selected audiences.Since there is only one objective for the campaign, one assumes that the audience has already been clearly identified during the selection of the objective. The third step involves the selection of the best possible media to be used inthe campaign. It is alarming how many advertising experts first create the campaign and then select the media. The print media are quite distinct from such media as radio and television in their advertising capabilities.Even within the print media there are critical differences in style and approach which must be noted by anyone designing an advertisement for printing in a newspaper as opposed to a magazine.Magazine advertising in turn is not one unified field, for there are many different audiences. The fourth and last step is to find a suitable creative approach. If the objective is to develop a receptive climate among the financial community, for example,it would be a mistake to work with too much illustration and too few detailed data, too many clever words and too few facts and figures. In a campaign aimed at fixing in the consciousness of the general public an image of the company is progressive and innovative to emphasize dramatic illustrations and not to take the chance of boring the audience with facts.1.According to the author, the most important step in developing an effective campaign is______.A.to create a good environmentB.to select the best possible mediaC.to define the objectivesD.to collect some information2.“print media”(Para.4)in the passage probably refers to______.A.newspaper and magazineB.radio and televisionC.newspaper and radioD.magazine and television3.It can be inferred from the second paragraph that______.A.one objective will confuse the selected audienceB.one objective will make the selected audience know what to doC.a set of objectives will help to attract new employeesD.a set of objectives will help the selected audience know more about the campaign4.What does the author imply by saying“too much illustration and too few detailed data”(Para.5)?A.emphasize the details without illustrationB.illustrate too few detailed dataC.explain nothing about the objectivesD.explain too much with no figures and facts5.This passage tells us______.A.how to develop an effective campaignB.how to establish the objectivesC.how to find a suitable creative approachD.how to create a progressive image【答案与解析】1.C从文中第一段首句“The most important step in developing an effectivecampaign…is to define the objectives of the campaign”可知,确定目标最重要。

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside my window. The sun was shining brightly, and I could already feel the warmth seeping through the curtains. It was goingto be a beautiful day.As I got ready for the day, I couldn't help but think about the upcoming exam. The pressure was starting to build, and I could feel the anxiety creeping in. I took a deep breath and reminded myself to stay focused and calm.Walking to the exam center, I passed by a group of students discussing their study strategies. Some were confident and relaxed, while others looked nervous and stressed. It was a reminder of how different everyone's approach to exams could be.Sitting down at my desk, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. The room was silent, except for the sound of pencils scratching on paper. Time seemed to slow down as Iworked through each question, trying to recall everything I had studied. Finally, the exam was over, and I felt a wave of relief wash over me. It was a challenging experience, but I knew I had given it my best shot. Now all that was left to do was wait for the results. As I walked out of the exam center, I couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. I had pushed myself beyond my limits and had come out stronger on the other side. No matter what the outcome, I knew that I had grown and learned from the experience. And as I looked up at the clear blue sky, I felt a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to challenge myself and strive for greater heights. The journey was far from over, but I was ready to face whatever came my way with courage and determination.。
