结合一堂比赛课的经历,就教学目标的设置和实现、教学过程中学生的参与、学生知识的自我构建、多元评价的实施等问题谈谈在课堂教学中如何运用和整合有效教学的策略。

关键词:有效教学;策略;建构主义;多元评价笔者参加了学校组织的教学评比活动,指定的比赛内容是必修五第五单元“speaking and writing”。

此单元的中心话题是急救(first aid),通过本单元的学习,学生能了解并学会几种日常生活中经常遇到的小事故的急救常识。

作为本单元的最后一个课时——using language,着重检测学生在阅读、语言学习等知识输入后的语言输出情况,即培养学生说与写的能力,其中重中之重是写作能力。

如何在本课中突出写作的重点,实现写作课堂的有效教学,笔者采用了以下的策略。

一、根据学情,整合资源,确立写作目标英语必修五教科书对于本单元说与写的安排是作为对听力的后续处理,即听完一则关于急救常识的小测验后,学生借助图片,讨论如何进行急救,并把急救措施写下来。

根据教材和教师教学参考书,本堂课的教学目标为发出急救操作指令、写出急救指令内容。

《英语学科教学指导意见》对于本单元说、写技能的要求是:能说出相关的急救要求,并发出操作指令;能写出有关急救的基本要求与主要方法。

会考对高二学生写的要求为:能够简介一件事件并谈谈自己的感受。

考虑到笔者执教的班级是高二文科班,学生有较好的英语基础,仅仅是写出急救指令内容这一写作任务对于他们而言过于简单,难以有效提高他们的写作能力。

综合客观情况和学生实际能力,笔者根据会考要求和样卷题型,调整了写作目标,将简单的写作任务拓展成会考要求的书面表达题(示例如下)。

书面表达:某英文报社正在举办“我难忘的一次经历”主题征文比赛。

假设你曾在下雪天遇到一位脚扭了的老师,你对他实施了急救帮助了他,请你以“an unforgettable experience”为题,用英语写一篇短文,准备投稿。

摘要: 本文从论述英语应用文写作的意义出发,着重分析了英语应用文写作中常出现的问题及解决途径。

旨在鼓励教师培养学生英语兴趣,提高学生英语应用文写作的能力。

关键词:英语应用文写作问题策略一、英语应用文写作的意义随着我国改革开放的不断深入,政府机关、企事业单位和人民群众的对外交流日益增多,国际国内活动、社会交流、日常生活、工作和学习等方方面面对英语的需求越来越广泛。

为了处理有关涉外事务,我们必须了解和掌握英语应用文写作。

再加上一年一度的高考,全国英语等级考试都涉及英语应用文写作。

所以使学生掌握和运用英语应用文写作有着极其重要的意义。

二、英语应用文写作中常出现的问题笔者在多年的英语教学中,发现学生应用文写作常出现以下问题。

1. 心理障碍大有些学生由于性格内向且英语基础差,一提英语写作就头痛,紧张;另一些学生自尊心特别强,他们特别怕老师和周围同学对他们的评价,深怕动笔出错而影响他们的形象;还有一些学生则自信心弱,往往极度害怕、胆怯,不能自我决策,对成功的期望值很低,甚至于不愿意发表任何意见或看法。

这些情绪都能直接导致行为失败,影响英语应用文写作水平的提高。

2. 词汇量缺乏语言的基本要素之一是词汇,要表达自己的思想就必须有足够的词汇量。

部份学生由于词汇量贫乏,因而在写作过程中不能正确表达自己的思想。

要么反复使用某一词组或句式;要么用词错误,表达不确切;有的知道要怎么表达但不知道怎么样写单词。

所以词汇量缺乏已成为学生英语应用文写作中的最主要的问题。

3. 语法错误多部分学生由于英语基础差,在英语文章中经常出现语法错误。

例如,要求他们给老师写封信,介绍他们近期的学习情况,有很多学生就是这样写的:Dear teacher, How are you!Under your's help, I makes great progress on me English. Now I very like English...看了学生们的这段文字后,真是啼笑皆非。

他们根本不知道中英文信件的区别。

另外,英语中的物主代词、宾格、第三人称单数、介词和副词的用法均没搞清,所以短短的一句话,语法错误出现了六个。

4. 语篇表达差部分学生语篇布局能力弱,句式缺乏变换,前后衔接手段单调。

一篇文章要语意连贯,符合逻辑,离不开一定的语篇连接手段。

英语中的语篇连接手段十分丰富,有的用于句子层次,有的用于语篇层次。

根据 M. A. K. Halliday 的语篇理论,语篇衔接主要通过语法手段、词汇手段和逻辑联系语来完成。

其中语法手段包括时间关联、地点关联、照应、代替、省略、搭配和时体配合等;词汇衔接包括复现关系和同现关系;逻辑关系语可分为增补、转折(让步)、原因(结果)和时间四类。

学生在写作中很少使用这些手段,使得文章跳跃性很大,句与句之间、段与段之间、主题与段落之间缺乏有机的联系、照应和连贯性。

三、解决办法英语应用文写作属于英语写作,它不仅涉及词汇与结构、语法与功能,而且还涉及学生的组织能力、分析能力、表达能力、逻辑推理能力以及对各种语体的掌握能力[4]。

为了提高学生英语应用文写作能力,我在教学中从以下几个方面进行了了尝试。

1. 培养学生学习兴趣我们知道,兴趣在学习中的作用是无法比拟的。

美国学者 H. C. Lindgren 曾说过“如果学习没有兴趣,那就不是学习”。

因此,我在教学中采用“快乐教学模式”。

在课堂上深入体验教学内容中的情感并用生动活泼、形象幽默并富有情趣和感染力的语言去感染学生,把握学生的情绪。

用抑扬顿挫、缓急有效的讲课声,来传情达意感染学生,引发他们的兴趣。

从感管角度看,声音变化的刺激,可以提高学生注意的集中性和稳定性,减少听课的疲劳。

另外,我注意上课时的表情。

教师的表情(面部表情、体感表情),教师一个鼓励的眼神,一句不经意的表扬,都能激发学生的学习兴趣。

当学生一旦被融入到集体中来,他们的思维就会被有效激活,注意处于高度醒觉状态,就为他们的学习创设了良好的环境,他们的学习潜能将极大地发挥出来。

“快乐教学”能使学生带着积极的情绪和情感投入到学习活动中来,学生学习的内在潜力能够得到更自主、更充分的发挥,从而有利于学生的心理健康与个性发展。

此外,“快乐教学”能够给学生提供健康的学习氛围,使学生在学习过程中有一个愉快的心情。

学生的学习在愉快的心境中完成,学生学习的内部动机就会增强,学习兴趣、效率就会提高。

2. 从简单入手,循序渐进要想充分地表达自己的思想,拥有足够的词汇量是前提,准确掌握词的涵义是基础,能写出语法正确、合乎英语表达习惯的句子和文章是目的。

基于这一理解,我在训练学生应用文写作过程中,注重从简单入手,循序渐进。

例如:第一步:用简单的单词造句(用单词 read 造句)第二步:回答简单的问题 (Do you like English?)第三步:连词成句(I, often, my answer, teacher's, questions, class, in)第四步:扩展句子 (Of all the subjects, English is my favorite.)第五步:连句成段从以上步骤学生能把上面的句子连成段:I read English every morning because I like English very much. I often answer my teacher's questions in class. Of all the subjects, English is my favorite because I find it most interesting.第六步给标题写短文 (My favorite subject )看到这个题目后,要求同学们认真审题。

这个题目的主题是 My Favorite Subject 而不是 My Favorite Teacher or My Favorite Book,审清题目后,同学们开始着手写作了。

老师巡视课堂。

几分钟之后发现成绩好的同学很快就写完了。

老师从中挑选一位写得好的同学写到黑板上。

她是这样写的:My Favorite SubjectI like English very much. I read English every morning. With the teacher's help, I have made great progress in my English. I can write a little English now. I find English is very interesting. And I also find English is getting more and more important in our daily life. If we want to know more about foreign countries, we must master English. If we want to make our country develop faster, we must learn English well. So my favorite subject is English. I hope I can talk with foreigners one day.3. 提供贴近生活的范文经过反复操练,学生们掌握了一定的词汇量和一些篇章结构,组织形式以及写作技巧之后,为他们提供不同类型的英语应用文写作打下了良好的基础。

应用文写作大多贴近生活,是我们日常生活中常用的一种体裁,所以提供范文──也就是套写,在英语应用文写作教学中起着非常重要的作用。

如介绍信、申请信、邀请信、投诉信、遗失启事、便条、海报等都有它们自己的固定格式。

要求学生们认真学习和反复操练。

下面举例说明。

介绍信尊敬的校长先生:兹介绍我班班长李兵同学前往贵校(南方中学)了解学生学英语的情况,请您给予接洽并提供所需资料。

株洲市一中 2004 班班委会2005 年 4 月 23 日老师把范文板书在黑板上,交代好格式。

重点句型如:兹证明用 This is to certify that...,兹介绍用 This is to introduce to you that...,还有 in the hope of doing sth 或 in order to do sth 表目的,以及 We shall deem it a great help if sb is provided with sth 或 Many thanks for the trouble you will have to take for sb 表感激。

老师检查后发现他们确实进步大,就当众表扬了他们,这样他们的积极性越来越高。

为日后的其他英语应用文写作学习打下了良好的基础。

4. 加强督促,整体提高英语应用文写作不是一、两天就能写好的,只有通过大量的训练才能练好。

一个班的学生英语水平有高有低,如何在有限的时间内提高他们的整体水平是值得我们关注的。

本人在教学中是这样做的:(1)练习巧设计每学完一种应用文写作后,大量的时间应留给学生自己做练习。
